  1. One prior accident in the right front. Almost all bodywork. But you're right, I have no idea what the other driver was like.
  2. Well we will see what the NHTSA says. But I'm not sure I'll get anywhere. Looking at replacement vehicles and going to have a discussion with the family to see if they'll loan money to cover difference between trade-in and loan value. I'm really disappointed because I never thought this would happen. If I did, I'd have bought an extended warranty.
  3. 80,393 miles. Never would have expected a failure like this at this low of miles. And even with the reman versions, I'll have spent $3,000 in maintenance in a year and a half. I'm not sure if anything else will break. I don't trust it anymore. Too many problems in the 15,000 miles i've driven it.
  4. Hi everyone... Sad news. Went to drive the car today and the car was making a horrible noise. Went to turn and the car struggled, moaned and groaned. Took to the dealership, they said we don't have any openings until next week. I'm having surgery on Thursday. Took the car to Goodyear. They figured out that it was a failed steering gear assembly. It had failed internally and the entire assembly will need to be replaced. Nearly $2,000. I about dropped dead on the floor upon hearing that. Said I'd have to make a few calls and came home. On the way home, it's gotten so bad that I almost crashed into another car coming around the corner when the car would not turn. Filing a complaint with NHTSA. Dealership/Ford will not help at all. Says that they couldn't forsee the issue when they sold me the vehicle, and that it isn't covered by the Hybrid component warranty. Soooo this sounds like the end for Maxwell. This will have put it over $4,000 in repairs since I bought it a year and a half ago.
  5. No, didn't see the broken part directly. They said that the strut broke from the mounting points.
  6. You'd be correct. They said it split from the connecting point. And I've never had a rear strut replaced. Ever. On any of my cars. Several of them much older. And it wasn't rusty at all. The only rust on my car are the door jambs and the things in the back wheel? Wheel hubs?
  7. While driving to an appointment in Cleveland, I was driving on I-77 northbound on a section of pavement where it dips down between the various bits. Crossed the bridge and hear a loud bang, followed by vibration and rattling. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. Stopped the car as soon as possible and turned around to go home after trying to find the issue. Took it to my dealer and they called within 30 minutes of me dropping it off. The right rear strut/shock snapped. It completely collapsed with no warning or anything. Was in contact with the DOT who said it is in the city so I have to file a claim with them. $615 later and waiting to see if I'll be able to get it reimbursed.
  8. I haven't had any issues with that previously. When I took a trip after it had been hot for several weeks and then got cold. My tp light came on fairly quickly when the tire was low. Around 28 PSI. You can "train" your tire pressure sensors to recognize what levels you want by following these steps. Note, this is for vehicles equipped with push-button start. 1. Push your start/stop button, without holding the brake 2. Press the hazard switch, on and off, three times. 3. The vehicle will honk and you will be in "training" mode. 4. Go to left front wheel and release air in the tire until the vehicle honks twice. 5. Go to each wheel (Right front, right rear, left rear) and repeat the procedure until all wheels have been "trained"
  9. Thanks! Now that I think about it. I had a similar (although not as bad) noise on my 2011 Focus. And my partner's 06 Focus also has a bad motor mount. Strange how those things work eh? lol
  10. Looked at the service documents. Top Front Engine Mount. Ford Parts says FV6Z-6038-D .
  11. They said the top/rear motor mount. Not sure where it is. I asked for a part number and they haven't got back to me yet. When I figure it out I'll let you all know.
  12. Well, they diagnosed it as a bad mount on the back. I only knew of one of the mounts, but I guess it makes sense to have more! $290 for parts and labor.
  13. So, wanted to make sure this was noticed. Taking car into the shop tomorrow and want to see what everyone else things. I was looking around but I couldn't see much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-G6yg-TwkU
  14. And this is the noise when the engine is running. First bit of the video is in NEUTRAL. https://youtu.be/8-G6yg-TwkU If ANYONE has any idea on what's going on, I will love you forever LOL. I'm at my wits end. Honestly have no idea what to do with this car...
  15. Does it look sort of like shaggy carpet/foam? If so, it is fairly malleable so if they were moving things around in there it could have fallen out. But I definitely have some.
  16. Here is a YouTube link to a video of the noise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBfYLQvXtTs&feature=youtu.be
  17. So, noticed this past week a noise that I just couldn't place. Kept trying to find it. So I popped the hood and it's coming from the inverter. A constant ticking/clicking. Almost sounds like a clock. Does it in accessory and when on. Almost sounds like something (a gear is trying to turn but can't) I'm thinking this might be related to my transmission "shifting" rough and the noise when you hold the steering wheel. But we shall see. Hopefully I'm not wasting $110 to get it "diagnosed" and it not being covered under warranty.
  18. Hey, at least the wiring harnesses are cheap lol. Good to know for the future. But yeah, definitely beyond my level of skill. Thanks for all of your help!
  19. Thanks for your help! I spend last night looking at Ford parts and couldn't find it. Just sounds easier to go without unfortunately.
  20. I'm familiar with ForScan, I've got the parts for that. I was thinking that you would just be able to add the sensors and the harness to the buttons under the climate control. The hardest part is probably just figuring out what specific settings need updated. MFT lists it in the diagnostics mode so it'll be interesting to experiment.
  21. Hello everyone! Just found out that the C-Max is able to park itself with the front sensors. Is it just as simple as adding the sensors in front and then hooking it into the panel underneath the climate control? Or is it not possible to add this after the fact. Thanks in advance! - Kyle
