  1. My 2013 had it when I purchased mine used in 2017. I peeled it off as soon as I owned the car. It was so satisfying.
  2. All of my interior lights turn off after awhile. There's also a button on the ceiling to turn them off. The tailgate lights seem to stay on no matter what. Maybe try to see if there's a fuse specifically for those?
  3. Haven't lost any, but the clearcoat on a couple of them is fading. You can buy them on eBay for a couple of bucks each. I'd say they're worth it.
  4. I just recently had my front brake pads/rotors replaced at 75,000 miles. There was a rust ridge rubbing against the dust shield when you'd turn. Otherwise, I'd wait until you notice issues. Rust is going to be normal, especially since we, as hybrid drivers, don't use the brake rotors as much due to regen.
  5. I have them on my car. They're okay. Noisier than the Firestones that I had on my Focus. They definitely reduce fuel economy.
  6. I assume that's what I'd get as well. But with 640 miles to drive, I wasn't going to do 65. Especially riding with people who needed to stop every hour or so. Plus the backup in Wytheville. Ugh. I've done enough long drives now that I'm just tired of it and just want to get to my destination. Screw the MPGs! Unless I'm going somewhere close by. Then I'm all about them <3
  7. Hi Telerisk, the lines on the display are equivalent to one Kilowatt per line. So, if you're on the Empower display, each solid white line is one Kw of power.
  8. Wow. I only averaged 35-37 on my trip to and from South Carolina this past week. I was going 80 miles an hour which probably played a big part of it. Sitting in traffic for two hours on I-77 waiting for people to merge properly was NOT fun at all.
  9. Turned out to be the front brakes. The right side rotor was rubbing against the dust shield and also had a very large rust spot. Hopefully this fixes my shaking problem!
  10. Ford announced a few years ago that they're planning on electrifying/hybriding the majority of their vehicles. They've already announced that the new Explorer (at least the interceptor utility) will be a hybrid. I'm assuming that they're planning on making the next generation Escape have hybrid technology as well.
  11. He's in the shop now. We will see how it goes. They gave me a regular Fusion to drive while it's getting fixed. It feels weird. Sits really low to the ground and only averages 25 mpg on a drive where I normally get at least 50 :(
  12. So, the vibration didn't get fixed even with the new rim and new tires. It was back last week, and they thought it was the brakes. I had to get my vehicle back before they could do anything. Received a call from the service manager and was told to bring it in early as possible. So it's going back in on Monday... we don't know for how long because of the issue. We don't know what could be causing it. It shakes all the time. So, I'm getting a loaner until it can get fixed. I'll be sad to have it missing because I do love the car. But that vibration... it hurts my body.
  13. I recommend cleaning off the lens... that seems to help with mine. It has some blurriness as well. But it definitely gets better when it gets cleaned. And you have to do that often since the back gets so dirty.
  14. I believe you would have to replace the MyFordTouch with Sync 3. I've thought about doing that... but it's like $1,500 for the package. You can probably look on eBay for one though.
  15. Congrats on the new vehicle! :D may it serve you well!
  16. Step 1. Remove the trim around the rear window (It has a black plastic piece in the middle) Using a trim removal tool to remove this panel, it has one clip holding it in. It should be held up solely by the top of your tailgate trim. Step 2. Using your trim removal tool, slowly and gently find an area of the tailgate trim that feels "loose" and gently push up. There are around 7 or so clips holding the tailgate trim. As well as one electrical connector. This could vary if you don't have the power tailgate option. The clips are in the corners, as well as one in the middle where the trim curves. I'm missing the handle to close the gate manually, so you may have to remove that piece. Not entirely sure though. You will be hearing popping, but that is just the sound of the clips popping out of their joints. It's fairly easy to remove, just be gentle. It's a lot easier than the door handles as there aren't any screws to remove. I'm not sure if the order of the clips being popped out matters. I started out at the bottom of the hatch and moved around and then up. During this process, I supported the trim until I could remove the electrical connector. Hope this helps :)
  17. lol I mean I'm a small child... but I wouldn't have put wood back there. And definitely not structural support. Pull yours apart and see if it's there for you too!
  18. Seems to be working just fine. I'm not sure what it would be a counterweight for? It wasn't attached to anything. Maybe it was put in there by the previous owner to help hold in the liftgate controller that is loose? But I packed that down really well.
  19. Didn't find anything :( if I did find something I'd turn it into the police.
  20. It didn't appear to serve any purpose. It was just inside the liftgate, right at the bottom. I'm not really familiar with wood types... but I'd assume it is some sort of project wood. It has some red tint, but that's paint. I'd prefer the wood on the outside as well. I removed it. The banging is gone now. Hallelujah!
  21. Well, I removed the tailgate trim and was shocked by what I found... a legitimate piece of lumber hidden inside the tailgate! Not strapped or anything! That would explain the ruckus you'd hear when you open and closed the tailgate!
