  2. And all this time I figured it was a lightning bug.
  3. Apparently not, in spite of each printing of the Owner's Manual stating otherwise. I was sadly disappointed that the 3.5.1 update did not "fix" this problem.
  4. Just to be clear, the SEL does NOT necessarily include "park assist, panorama roof, kick lift gate and backup camera."
  5. The actual TSB number is 13-6-17. It delivers MFT Version 3.51. which is, in turn, made up of upgrades to several individual software components (each of which has there own unique version designation). Snorkel around the SYNC-my-ride site for you VIN and you can get the component version details. But no info as to bugs fixed, etc.; just overall "improvements."
  6. You may want to try the fix-a-dent folks that use a suction cup to pull out dents. Worked very well for me. Good luck.
  7. FYI tsb13-06-22.pdf I apologize for readers having to download this; I naively assumed that it would open in a browser. Perhaps someone can do a better job.
  8. FYI tsb13-06-17.pdf I apologize for readers having to download this; I naively assumed that it would open in a browser. Perhaps someone can do a better job.
  9. Good idea. I'm going to try a piece of pipe insulation left over from closing up the front grill.
  10. Use the MFT screens to disconnect one and connect the other. PITA, IMO. My BlueAnt hands free device will accept incoming calls from either device. Sorry, but I don't know how it's done in a non-MFT environment.
  11. Just stumbled across this and thought I'd pass it along. Sorry if it's old news. Google "Safety Recall 13S02" for the full text. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael A. BerardiDirectorService Engineering OperationsFord Customer Service Division March 5, 2013 TO: All U.S. Ford and Lincoln DealersSUBJECT: DEMONSTRATION / DELIVERY HOLD – Safety Recall 13S02Certain 2013 Model Year C-MAX, Escape, and Focus VehiclesLeft Rear Door Latch Inspection and Repair AFFECTED VEHICLESCertain 2013 model year C-MAX and Focus vehicles built at the Michigan Assembly Plant from November 17, 2012 through November 21, 2012 and certain 2013 model year Escape vehicles built at the Louisville Assembly Plant from November 14, 2012 through November 24, 2012. Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS. In addition, for a list of vehicles assigned to your dealership, visit https://web.fsavinlists.dealerconnection.com. This information will be available on March 5, 2013. REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALLIn some of the affected vehicles, the left rear door child lock may have been built incorrectly. As a result, the child lock may not engage when the operator uses normal turning force to activate the child lock, and the operator may incorrectly believe the child lock is engaged. Without the child lock engaged, the door can be opened using the inside door handle. This condition could potentially increase the risk of injury to an unrestrained child. SERVICE ACTIONBefore demonstrating or delivering any of the vehicles involved in this recall, dealers are to inspect the left rear door latch and replace as necessary. This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner.
  12. I agree. (Bold in the above is mine).
  13. No wi-fi needed, just a paired cell-phone and a good signal.
  14. I have a question that may belong here. How are the phone books handled when more than one phone is paired? Does one supplant the other? Are they merged? Also, (since this is the 2 questions thread), when the non-primary phone rings, should I be able to answer that call via SYNC? Inquiring minds want to know.
  15. Yes, I do have a phone book loaded, all 50 entries :) . Including the special Verizon ones (#BAL, etc.). Also, FYI, I have some entries with single-quote and period in them. No problem loading them.
  16. To be very clear, I do not have an iPhone. As I said, many wouldn't even call it a smart phone.
  17. I just tried it, and it worked for me. I pulled the paddle, Sync said, "Please say a command." I said, "phone." Sync said, "Phone; say a command." I said, "dial." Sync said, "Start saying a phone number." I said, "1234567890". Sync said, "123456789o. Say dial, delete, or continue speaking the digits." I said, "dial." Sync said, "Dialing." And the number was dialed. NB: I think my phone is pretty smart, but most would not agree. Also, this is with MFT 3.5.1.
  18. FYI, updated owner's manuals can be found here: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=2013&make=Ford&model=C-MAX%20Hybrid
  19. It's my understanding that you can say "phone", then "dial", then "123 456 7890" for example. I believe you must wait for Sync to prompt you at each step (all though there's supposed to be an optional shortcut scheme).
