If it were me, I'd just replace the 12v battery and see what happens. I don't recall of anyone having a power steering issue that called for replacement. Or a power steering issue at all, for that matter. Cheers. PS: Remember to reset the battery age monitor. Search the forum for info. BN

Also check interior for possible leak around the heater core (although you'd likely smell it if that's the case).

Probably front wheel bearings. They typically get quite warm/hot when failing. Carefully feel around the wheel hub for unusual warmth. But I'm surprised you didn't notice any noise when you did the brake work. I too hope it's not the transmission. Cheers.

Welcome. I'm sure you can be a big help to the rest of us, especially as parts get harder to find. Cheers.

Several folks here have gotten over 200k. Enjoy the car. Cheers

Nothing good happens with a weak 12V battery. Try charging it (battery recharge posts under hood on drivers side) to see if that helps. But be prepared for a replacement. Also, search the forum for lots more 12v info. Cheers, and welcome.

For those who may be unaware, the rear hatch cannot be opened if the 12v battery is dead, so do NOT keep jumper cables in the rear cubby.

Not to worry. The car will operate in normal hybrid mode. Cheers

First I've heard of the problem. I would tend to suspect a clogged drain of some sort, e.g. from AC evaporator or vent duct work.

Keyfree / Keyless touch not working?
Bill-N replied to theasset's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I haven't experienced this particular issue, but a failing 12V battery can cause many weird problems. In my case, for example, back-up warning sensors failed. Just a thought. -
Where can this file be found?

Thanks for finding a reasonable replacement. Knowing the group number will be a big help. Also, don't forget to reset the battery age monitor/charging scheme. Something like hold the brake pedal down, rub your belly 10 times, or some such. Search the forum for specifics. Cheers.

FYI, there is no torque converter in the C-Max.

Also, there's a nag that will display about checking/replacing the tire mobility kit. Search the forum for more info.

Sounds like the 12V battery may be on its last legs.

Help needed with a no start and DTC
Bill-N replied to powerstroke cowboy's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
The C-Max engine is started by one of the two 450V electric motors housed inside the transmission. There is no "traditional" mounted-to-the-bellhousing starter motor. -
Ford C-Max 2013 Hybrid (not the plug-in)
Bill-N replied to retiredtraveler's topic in Forum Suggestions and Help
Also, reverse wouldn't work as it is solely electric. -
Is this not simply the engine running? Whether or not the engine runs at start-up is (mainly) a function of the HVB (high-voltage battery) state of charge. So if the HVB needs charging when the car is started, the engine will start so it can recharge the HVB.

Shifter moved and clicks but won’t go in gear
Bill-N replied to Ashlier's topic in Forum Suggestions and Help
Hopefully the cable has broken or merely become disconnected. It happened to me following transmission replacement years ago. Fix was done by Ford so I have no idea how to DIY. Perhaps someone with the shop manual can help.
