  1. Thanks tsnud, I didn't even know about the windows feature with remote. Just checked it and it works. But how do you close the windows with the remote?
  2. I believe I finally found the problem. After it randomly didn't open ... I had the door trim off for some month to get access from the inside just in case the liftgate would not open again. So, one day when it was dead again, I went inside the car through the rear door and moved around all the cables on the liftgate that I could see while using the remote key fob and pushing the trunk release...and voila! The liftgate opened. It seems like the connector had some connection trouble. I sprayed some W40 inside and had no more problems since then. I just hope it will be OK now because I put the trim back on.
  3. So can you recommend these downloads? I was thinking of getting the 2014 manual for $25. How big is the download file?
  4. I got 100k. I knew I needed new tires but didn't know some of the steel belt was showing already on the inside threads ?. No wonder these Michelin tires are so expensive...they're sure worth the money.

    2013 cmax front

I like the euro front design better
  6. Yes, exactly the same files are included in my zip package once you open the folder.
  7. The zip file I got for the 3.10 is named: EA5T-14D544-BA , and it's 562 MB in size (unzipped)
  8. What happens when you disconnect your battery for 20 minutes? Will this automatically reset my battery age?
  9. There were some technical service bulletins for this problem, not sure it applies to your car though. https://www.aboutautomobile.com/Technical-Service-Bulletin/2013/Ford/C-Max-Hybrid/Powertrain-Control-Module
  10. Got the Castrol GTX Magnatec 0W-20 Full Synthetic 5 qt from walmart for only $20 ? Shouldn't a blended oil be cheaper than full syn? Not more expensive?
  11. Hoemstead, your sticker says 38 PSI? My 2014 cmax says 40 PSI, and most of the time I brought it to the dealer, they lower it to 35.
  12. So I changed my plugs last night with the updated motorcraft sp 530 plugs, and guess what?? My car already had the exact same plugs in it. So they should have updated the 2014 owners manual. I have to agree with ptjones...the old plugs looked like they still had a lot of life left in them and the gap was looking good as well. I just thought after 101 500 ml it would be a good time to change them. Good thing they last that long, because it's a hassle to get to them. (air-filter assembly has to get off)
  13. I see so much about counterfeit parts being sold online...I bought my motorcraft plugs at o reilys auto parts store. How do I know that I didn't get any counterfeits here??
  14. 2014 cmax 100k miles. Still original tires but they are in need to be replaced soon. Mpg = 42.
  15. I did this update last week via USB stick. Installed without problems. You have to leave the car turned on while updating. My gas engine just turned on for a few seconds during the update, I think it took like 20 minutes or so. The update will store an xml file on your USB stick that you're supposed to send to Ford so that they 'll know you've got it. I didn't see much difference yet, except one thing....before the update, I was not able to enter my password for my home wireless network completely, after the update it worked like a charm.
  16. So today I updated my SYNC software in my 2014 cmax via USB to version SYNC2 - V3.10. Update got confirmed as successful and it works like before. According to the Ford website I should be able to use 'waze' and 'apple car play' now, but it is not showing and I don't see any options on how to enable it. I followed all the instructions on the Ford website. Also my screen doesn't look like on their videos...I don't have this modern look with the icons on the bottom. Is my car too old?
  17. If they last longer does that mean they will last longer than 100k miles ?
  18. Totally agree with you about the maintenance issues. Did already twice oil, air filter and cabin filter changes...with the cabin being the worst. Another fun thing is to chance the front blinker bulbs, you have to take out the entire headlight unit and that was a pain in the back. Both my front blinker bulbs melted the contact wires through the plastic socket and needed to be replaced (not at the same time though). I believe they got too hot when I had the emergency lights on due to a flat tire and waiting for the tow truck. Another problem are my lug nuts, they are swollen and I can't get any socket to fit on it.? This car is designed to bring it in for service ?
  19. Hi People, I am reaching my 100k miles and will be due for new spark plugs soon, my manual states I will need the motorcraft CYFS12YPC5/ SP531. Problem is, I can't find these plugs anywhere. Even on the Ford website they are not available and they point me to the motorcraft SP530 plugs instead. Can anyone confirm that these are an updated version of the SP 531?? Thanks

    Engine Shield

I know, I only hand tightened them but some are already stripped from the dealer service. But I believe the 2 missing screws on the side don't have plastic inserts. Seems to hold without them anyways.
