  1. Does anyone know where the transmission cable bushing on the cmax is located. Do you access it from the top or do you have to remove the lower splash shield to get to it?
  2. I would say it's normal. When it's colder or the hybrid battery is low, the gas engine will start - and because the engine is cold, it makes more noise/rumbling than a warm engine. The car doesn't start in electric mode always.
  3. I wonder why they always disappear once the car changes the owner. People take it off and forget where they left it?
  4. I changed mine and did not disconnect the high voltage
  5. I never saw anything about the battery reset in my 2014 manual?
  6. Yes, exact same thing happened to me already 3 times. I now just clean it, lift the wire up a little, put some super glue with baking soda underneath it to fill in the gap and flip the bulb around. Should last another year since the lamp itself is intact. I don't know why it's getting so hot though
  7. I bought my battery from Ford and it was fresh....actually got a much better price than from any other retailers to my surprise. So I suggest to check the price at your Ford dealer first before you get a new battery.
  8. Wow, didn't know the Energi is so much harder than the SEL to replace the battery. Much more cable in the way. I had my battery out for 2 hours (because I brought it to the dealer for core exchange) and thought for sure all my setting were gone, but for some reason everything was still the same as before. Maybe the HV battery takes over for some time to keep all the settings incl. time, radio stations, history.....?
  9. I have to add some coolant to the ICE like once a year because it gets below the MIN mark. Every time I add, I see some coolant leaking on the floor and I don't know where it comes from. I didn't spill any and only added to get it up to the MIN mark again. Is this by design so you don't accidently overfill it? Anybody else experienced this? The car is not overheating and I don't see any leaks on the floor other than when I add.?
  10. Did you get it off? I used an oil filter wrench to get mine off. After that I've rubbed some coolant on the rubber sealant rings from the cap to get it on easy.
  11. Our 2014 does not have a button inside the car. The hatch is electric and only opens with remote or from the outside button, and also.... only if your battery is not dead. Don't know if the 2017 is different.
  12. I had to change the tires around 90k. The 12v battery was 7 years old.
  13. We have a 2014 SEL with 120k miles, and so far very trouble free. Only replaced tires once and 12v battery.
  14. Thanks, I've found it now under the BdyCM - Body Control Module. I reset it yesterday and it says 1 day old. Changed the battery a week ago but I don't think a few days will make a big difference.
  15. @cr08 I only have the PID for the HVB and you're right...it's counted by month. I have nothing for the 12v battery. Maybe I'll scan again later.
  16. I got the free forscan app for windows and reset my battery monitor since I've got a new battery... but I don't see how many days it had or has. Is this a feature only in the paid version?
  17. Nice. That answers my question. Thanks homestead.
  18. I was looking for some more motorcraft orange prediluted antifreeze that I've bought 2 years ago (# VC3DILB (3DIL) ), but apparently Ford doesn't sell it anymore. Instead they have the Yellow Prediluted Antifreeze now only. Did Ford update and recommend the yellow stuff now? Would it be OK to mix the orange with the yellow one? Or should I flush it first??
  19. Almost bought the wrong battery. My 2014 SEL manual says to use motorcraft BXT-96R-590 for battery when it should be BXT67R instead. Good thing I've double checked the old battery in the trunk for the correct #. Lasted me 7 years and 118 000 miles. Bought from the dealer and has a date on it from October 2021...so pretty fresh.
  20. I had that problem in the first years until I adjusted the Latch myself. It was very annoying but now everything is good. There are these 2 liftgate stoppers on each side of the body....I got them a little loose and pulled them far out..then closed the liftgate. After that I retightened the stoppers in the position they were. Also loosened all the lock parts and pulled the door from inside to a locked position and retightened the screws. I have the manual liftgate though.
  21. Thanks. I know in the manual it says you can use the 5w20 blend if 0w20 isn't available. But I'd rather use the 0w20 full syn from Mobil 1. My oil fill cap also says 0w20. I was just wondering if Ford also switched to full syn oil as recommended oil since they took the 0w20 Blend off their website.
  22. Did Ford update the Motor oil recommendation for the 2014 Cmax? When I go to the Ford parts side and enter my vin# to check for recommended oil, it shows No applicable results found for my car. Only the coolant shows up. According to manual it needs the 0-20 semi blend, but they don't even sell it anymore on their website. I know they updated the spark plug #. ?
