  1. I hate to repeat myself, but Grill Covers make a big difference during the winter. If you had a ScanGauge you would be amazed at the difference. Even with the Grill Covers on last nite outside temp 43degrees it took 12mi at 50-55mph to get to 200degrees coolant temp. Without Grill Cover it probably wouldn't have made it to 160degrees. This morning it was 33degrees outside and garage temp was 63degrees and still only got to 147degrees with no heater on my 2.4mi. drive to work. It is such a simple thing to do, I don't know why everyone hasn't done it. :)

What's the break even point mileage wise for your grill covers?

  2. Yeah, the whole reason I turned off the ECO is because I hate the speed fluctuations.  Seems like if I set it at 77, it varies between 75 and 79.  But I don't want to go 79, I want to go 77.  With ECO off, I believe it behaves the same.

Does it engine brake when you are going down a steep incline with eco cruise off?  I have noticed up to 10mph over what the eco cruise is set at going down hill.

  3. With my last car, letting up on the accelerator provided a noticeable degree of immediate engine braking. It seems to me that the CMax maintains its speed much more - coasting instead of slowing to the degree I expect.

This is probably what I'm getting at.  More like maintaing the speed you got up to vs the engine braking you are talking about.  It's just kinda weird feeling.

  4. When I floor the gas to get around a vehicle or to merge into traffic it seems to want to keep accelerating when I let of the pedal.  I have to hit the brake to slow it down. It doesn't feel like most cars Ive driven where there is instant loss of power when letting off the gas.  I hope this makes sense.  Anyone else notice this?

  5. It's a credit to your Federal income taxes in the year you buy the car.  Just be sure to have enough tax liability for the full credit as there's no carry-over provision.  Some states have credits too.

I have to take the standard deduction and get a small refund every year, so I guess I'm out of luck.

  6. I just ordered mine from Amazon.com.  This is how they are listed: Weathertech 454591 Front Floor Liner for 2013 Ford C-Max/2013 Ford Escape, Tan.  I was a little concerned that they won't fit but I can always send them back.  I read in another post that the Focus floor mats are different than the C-Max.  I should get mine next week some time.

You're good.  The Husky rep told me the C-Max and Escape had identical floor pans.  The mats I received had "Escape" on the box and they fit perfect.
