I'd be a happy camper, if it both increases fuel economy and does something about that dirt sucking vortex at the rear. Of course, that would only count if we can retro-fit to the 2013 model vehicles.

I would bring the car in for a look at the air conditioner. I live in South Florida. It is over 91F all day, more like 95 many days of the summer. I leave my car parked in the summer sun about five days a week. (However, I do have tinting.) I run A/C 24/7 while driving. I set at 73F with Recirculate (do not use Auto!) and with the fan usually running a four bars, and my C-MAX cools nicely. Trust me, I am an air-conditioner-aholic. So, I would not say this unless it were like this for me. Also, you have Oxford White, which is the best color for the heat. So, other than maybe needing tinting, you should not be having problems with keeping cool. Do not use Auto for A/C. When you use Auto, once the interior cools down, you draw in hot air from outside. This is why you need to always run Recirculate, not Auto. Could this be contributing to your issue? I recognize that you may live in the desert, but there are members here from Arizona, Texas and Florida that seem to be okay with how the A/C is working. (Well, there was the thread about the noise, which turned out to be normal function. So, I won't count that issue.) So, if you are having issues staying cool, you should get the air conditioner checked out. Welcome aboard. You are getting great fuel numbers. Nice!

Nav with Major Traffic - Epic Fail
ScubaDadMiami replied to asb's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have tried, more than once, to send directions from MapQuest to MFT. I see it trying to send, but it never gets to my C-MAX. Now, I am obviously at home, not in my car, when I try this. Could that be why it isn't working? Any hints? -
I was about to pull the trigger on this, but when I heard that there will be mods like this in the 2014 model, I decided to wait until I find out if similar mods will be available from Ford for the 2013.

Nav with Major Traffic - Epic Fail

Thanks. I just learned a new voice command! :) -
I go with what the C-MAX states, not the pump.

I don't see a Reply option, either. -
Sending Texts Through MFT
ScubaDadMiami replied to nsteblay's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have only had 3.5 and 3.6, and I have always been able to have incoming texts read, but I have neither been able to initiate new text messages nor have I been able to reply through MFT. -
I bought a doggie harness safety belt attachment, too. Also, I trained Slowpoke to stay in the back seat area. I just bought one of those spill-proof water bowls. Other than the newly acquired bowl, I did a trip from Miami to NH and back like this. Never a problem.

Using NAV With Phonebook Addresses?

Anyone know the voice commands for this? -
Using NAV With Phonebook Addresses?
ScubaDadMiami replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Very good, but please tell me the commands or screen touch sequence used to instruct NAV to go to that person's address. -
My first day at work in the C-max----Long post.

I installed a ProClip mount for my phone. I think that this is at least the third vehicle in which I have installed the ProClip. Holds it securely, charges, and doesn't have cords running all over the car. -
Using NAV With Phonebook Addresses?
ScubaDadMiami posted a topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I never bothered to check, until after I just updated to MFT 3.6, to see if addresses synch to my Phonebook. Sure enough, there they seem to be. So, I was trying to figure out how to check to see if NAV will go to the addresses listed in the Phonebook. I tried guessing some voice commands, and I tried to use the touch screen to see if this function will work. No dice. Is there anybody that is able to Navigate using the Phonebook addresses? If so, please let me know how to make this happen. In particular, it would be great to do this by voice. Thanks. -
So happy that your long wait is finally over. :clapping: (We were only a little worried when you started talking about going to the rail yard to try to drive it home. :bliss: )

I just picked up my car with all 4 updates........
ScubaDadMiami replied to Recumpence's topic in Fuel Mileage
Don't worry about that message. We apparently are all getting it, too. -
I was moving from a bigger vehicle to a smaller one. I was worried enough about whether everything would fit inside of the hybrid version. So, I never even got to the point of considering the plug-in version in any kind of serious way. Some thoughts to consider include whether you will realistically ever need the additional space. Beyond that, things would also depend on charging. You may have enough juice to make your full daily commute on the charge you start out with in the morning. If not, you have to consider whether there are charging stations in your commute locations, or whether you will have to install one, or whether you are okay with burning a little gas on your ride. If you are going to install charging stations, consider the cost, the tax consequences, and the savings over your time of anticipated ownership. Consider charge times and cost for the various charging configurations. So long as the space isn't critical, numbers would be one way to consider the decision. However, even if it doesn't make economic sense, you may just decide that you like the Energi better, and get it "just because." It's all good. :hat_tip:

It may now be worth it to sit in some traffic while gliding and regenerating all the way home.

I was able to log a fill, but I do not see it posting the update information from Fuelly in my signature. So, the system is probably on the way to getting repaired.

In September, I will be driving from Miami to the mountains of western North Carolina, then driving all around that area for about a week, and finally driving back to Miami. So, I guess I will be finding out about the mountain driving, soon enough! If I understand correctly, we can put the C-MAX into L at any speed? When do you go with L versus Grade Assist? Would I start by using Grade Assist, and then shift to L if Grade Assist is not enough to stay within the speed limit?

Dealer-Installed SYNC Update??
ScubaDadMiami replied to MI C-max's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I posted this same question in another 3.6 thread, and I got the same answers as here: We are all getting that notice about the dealer install. -

ScubaDadMiami replied to slampro's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Sounds like you like the kickgate! Glad you are enjoying. 73F seems to be the sweet spot for not getting hot and not burning fuel. You can see you last numbers by turning on the C-MAX in accessory mode (don't put your foot on the brake pedal when hitting start). -
Well?! Where is it, already?! :waiting:
