  1. Sometimes, mine go off from what I am guessing is road debris. As soon as the wind blows them off of the sensor, the beep stops. It's one heck of a surprise, when it happens. :kookie:
  2. Is there a max suggested safe speed for shifting to L?
  3. Looks great! BTW, after a while, if you carefully pull up the outer edges of the Canvasback (be careful not to pull up the carpet, which many have said comes up all too easily), and re-stretch them out, the fold marks from transport will all but disappear.
  4. Summer goes between 90 to 96F here. I got Oxford White, and I added tinting. I have the Pan Roof, but I close the shade while parked. I keep the temp at 73 with recirculate. Fan speed will vary between 3 and 4 bars. This gives me 49+ mpg for mostly city driving. Normally, I keep my home at 68, but I am finding that I am pretty comfortable with the C-MAX set as above. I think that the vent routing allows the higher set temperature, because I always have a cool breeze directed at me from the lower center vents.
  5. Your long wait is over, and it was worth it! Great start! :hi5:
  6. The place is called "Snow Bird." It's a combo of South Florida in winter and ? in summer.
  7. It is mostly flat, and not as hot as where you are (90+F), but I am averaging just under 50 mpg in mostly city driving.
  8. I figured that you'd take particular notice of that!
  9. It has been cloudy, dropping the temps to the low to high 80's, and this has made a very big difference in things. Where I had been getting around 48 mpg, I got 53+ today over the course of a 12.5 mile drive. I continue using the combo technique, and this is working out much better for me than always going with a two bar acceleration.
  10. My clock was spot on for the first month or so, and then I saw that it was running about a minute behind (given that my cell phone and the radio broadcast agreed with the current time, and MFT showed about a minute behind). My last car had a clock that would slowly get behind, and I would have to fix it every couple of months. Not a big deal, but a nag that I hope will not be the case on my C-MAX.
  11. Just leave your turn signal on, and you'll fit right in with that crowd.
  12. Looks great. BTW, if you care about having the loose material sticking out from behind the seats when the seats are folded, just tuck-in the material behind the seat and under the flap that bridges from the cargo area to the seat back. (Look back at my pictures. You will see how it looks with the material folded.) It only takes a second. Just go to the side where you are closing the seat, and start tucking-in the material as you fold the seat up. (It won't work after the seat is already locked into position.) Later, when you fold the seat flat, the material goes right into place without you having to do anything more.
  13. I think that the way that you got it is the version that comes unless some of those other things are requested. Lots of people don't like the d-rings sticking out. I remember discussing the child seat anchors, but I can't remember which way they come.
  14. I often pull away from parking with all windows open, blowing out the even hotter air out into the hot outside air. I hear that noise. It starts within two to five seconds, pretty much immediate but building speed. Since all seems to be working fine, and with all of the reports of the noise turning out to be normal, I stopped worrying about it.
  15. Remember that little notebook that you kept in the car, for writing down the list? Ahhhhh, those weren't the days! :nonono: Other than the liftgate issue, which has already been fixed, I have had one issue since taking delivery. The inside cover to the Pano Roof needs adjusting for its stop point. Planning on getting it done with the recalibration. Other than that, the new C-MAX has been spot on. No sounds, everything stays good and tight.
  16. It will be a while before I get around to doing the 1 vs. 2 bar test on a given stretch of road. My best chance for reporting anything is going to be from when I am running my usual routes. After all, the longer the test loop, the more it will resemble real world driving. I tried 1 bar for over a month, and I have been going with 2 bars for a couple of weeks. Today, I tried--if you will pardon the phrase--a hybrid version of techniques. I did slow charges when it seemed to work best, 1 bar burns, 1.75 bar burns (which seems to be a great balancer), and I made 2 bar acceleration in areas that seemed to work well. On my leg out, I typically average about 51-52 mpg. Today, I had my best run, 56.7, and that was after having to make a last minute skip around a bridge that was opening, which has a price against FE. On the way back, I normally get around 48 mpg. Today, I got around 47. (I lost it when I tried a 2 bar burn and caught a light). Jus, I am absolutely paying very close attention to traffic. (I am almost to the point where I am going to hack off someone's tree branch that blocks a traffic light at the bottom of a great glide zone.) Sometimes, the burns are very brief. However, if they are 2 bars, I jolt ahead too quickly. Unless I am where I can keep moving, something will happen: a car pulls out of nowhere, I don't quite have the timing for the light, I catch up to the car ahead, someone way up ahead stops traffic. Mostly, it is catching the lights at the wrong time. (It could potentially be related to the fact that they installed traffic light cameras in this area. Since then--and this has been confirmed by the media--they adjusted the lights to have shorter yellow times. This has not only resulted in a ton of tickets bringing in all kinds of revenue, it has also led to a big jump in rear end crashes from drivers slamming on their brakes to avoid getting a ticket--which is what prompted the media to investigate.)
