POSSIBLE FIX FOR WRONG SYNC CALENDAR DATE
ScubaDadMiami replied to Generalbeluga's topic in General Discussion
The clock problem is a known issue to Ford, per my SA, with whom I just discussed this. Ford is working on it. The problem is not limited to the C-MAX. -
Earlier today, I installed 3.6. Everything seemed to go as it should. So, when I got home, I uploaded the XML file, and I got a message confirming that I have updated. I also see the successful update on my Sync Software Update History. Nonetheless, I see a dealer-installed update still available on my To-Do List. When I click to find out more information, it lists what looks to be the same 3.6.2 update, and it says that it is a dealer installed update. What's up with that? :headscratch:

My C-MAX does the same thing as yours, SnitGTS.

As much as I love my C-MAX, and even with how advanced it is when contrasted with today's vehicles on the market, MFT is still quite weak. Instead, I would be thrilled if that big screen were more like a dumb terminal that would connect and display from my smartphone. For example, navigation on the phone is superior to NAV, and it integrates with my contact manager, which I also synch to my PC at home. Often, to navigate, I look up the address on my phone, and then I use voice command to dictate to NAV. Can't we cut out the middle man, and just realize that today's drivers likely have smartphones that can do this better than NAV? In fact, every application on today's smartphones are superior to MFT. So, Ford would be smart to put its money into integration systems, making smartphone integrate well with MFT, rather than trying to reinvent already existing services that are superior in almost every way.

Hmmm, we may have just had our first look at the 2014. Of course, that drawing of the C-MAX could just be an artist's rendering with some license, or . . . Did you notice that the front end looks a little different?

Nice write up!

I go for my 13B07 update in the morning. I am bringing my 3.6 loaded thumb drive, and I plan to do the update during the drive to the dealership. I figured that I would give it a try for doing the 3.6 update, and that I can just get Al Packer Ford to do it, in the event that there is a problem. :worship:

Ford to lower fuel economy rating on C-Max hybrid
ScubaDadMiami replied to slampro's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
"The agency did not say whether it plans to investigate Ford. But it seems unlikely because the agency said in a statement that its own testing rules were a factor that contributed to Ford's overstated mpg claims." -
I would also apply it to doing whatever updating is possible. I'll bet that the new look will be a nice improvement.

The last miles are the hardest. You'll make it!

Yeah, you should run a search. I remember that this problem happened to a number of people.

Hey, I'll be driving from Miami to Maggie Valley/Waynesville, and will be staying there from Sept. 6 to 12 or 13. Expect to do a lot of driving around the mountains for hikes with the pooch in Pisgah, Joyce-Kilmer, Nantahala, and for canoeing down the Little Tennessee River near Otto. Let me know if you have time to meet up while I'm in the area. Enjoy your C-MAX! I hope I can do as well as you with the FE you are getting in the mountains.

On phone music streaming

Not I. What kind of phone? -
It really is happening!

I know that I very much feel the torque whenever I do the stomp and glide. I use premium gas, which I suspect gives it just a little more oomph.

Highest MPG CMax Club (minimum 500 miles)
ScubaDadMiami replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Fuel Mileage
I finally crossed 500 miles. 50 MPG. Not bad for 100 percent air conditioning use in 90+F heat. This is also pre-recalibration. -
TSB 13-08-02 -- Sync Software Version 3.6
ScubaDadMiami replied to GrandadB's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Search for the 3.6 thread (without the rest, just use 3.6). You'll find the whole shebang. -
Lots of us need to fit things in the C-MAX. I managed to put my dive gear inside. The C-MAX also handles big boxes well.

Everyone starts from not knowing. You'll soon be an expert. Enjoy your new C-MAX!

I try using voice commands for everything. I have very good to excellent results. If you do it all the time, it gets better and easier. Here are my everyday commands: Show Map Audio On/Audio Off Bluetooth Audio (for streaming from my phone) Play/Stop/Next 91.3 (NPR via FM) NPR Now (via Sirius) Listen (to text message) Call XYZ: On Cell/At Home/At Work Destination: Street Address/POI Temperature X Degrees That isn't very many to remember, especially if they are commands that you use all the time. Here is a great one that I got during my Synch Session: Show Vegetarian Restaurants Really, the only time I have problems with recognition is for street addresses. Other than that, I get quite good results.
