Me, to the guy at the Costco exit, when I noticed it raining: "Do you know why it's rainining?" Guy: "Something to do with the clouds." Me: "No. It's nothing like that. It's raining, because I just left the carwash before coming here." Guy: "Ha, ha, ha."

I'll post a pic later, when I get home. At Al Packer Ford, getting 13B07 update. Lots to do before leaving for my trip.

Where's the best feed-thru point for wires?
ScubaDadMiami replied to buckwild's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I couldn't really see. I was just observing from a waiting room, watching through a glass window. -
This is why I decided to go with what the C-MAX says, not what the pump says. It is consistent.

At @ 3,200 miles, 48.4 MPG with 98 percent braking score. I expect a drop with my upcoming road trip to the mountains of western North Carolina.

Very purdy.

For almost everyone, Lifetime is just that: lifetime. Don't reset it. Only reset tank stats and trip stats.

Where's the best feed-thru point for wires?
ScubaDadMiami replied to buckwild's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I watched while installers ran the wire for my permanently mounted cell phone charger, located on the center console area. They fed the wire through the center console (starting by feeding under the edge that runs down by the floor), through the fire wall, and then they connected to the fuse panel that is located under the hood. Looked pretty quick and easy. -
Funny that everyone is spending the day cooking. I am taking a break before going back to start the next shift in the kitchen. Spent the last couple of days shopping and cooking, getting ready for Maxie's first road trip--ten days to western North Carolina mountain country. Speaking of apples, today's agenda is to bake four almond butter-apple-raisin pies with a peanut butter-date crust--after this little break. Be safe, everybody.

Pandora showing title and artist

I'd sure be happy if Spotify were to show album art and detailed information. -
Welcome, and glad to see that you are enjoying your new C-MAX. Yes, I get it: "the kids have to learn how to sit together again but at least i can reach them from the drivers seat easier lol"

I got a call from my SA. The IDS software issue is fixed. My 13B07 update is still on for Tuesday.

Great post, MI! I may just try your tick up from highway cruise control method. It may help to get a good feel for highway feathering. I'll try it as a sort of training wheels. If I get the hang, I'll try going fully manual. Great idea for a training tool! :)

Same goes here . . . for now. Departing for Maxie's first big road trip next Thursday. Heading to the mountains of western North Carolina. So, I suspect that I will know a thing or two about highway and mountain driving pretty soon! :kookie:

Highest MPG CMax Club (minimum 500 miles)
ScubaDadMiami replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Fuel Mileage
There is a learning curve. Part of this isn't just the driving style, it is also learning the many new and great things that come in the C-MAX. For example, you now have three screens, and you can change information on the fly via use of the wheel controls. So, this contributes to the initial effort required to observe road conditions while also feathering the pedal and reading feedback from the information screen. Very soon, you become competent. After a few weeks to about a month, you start to want to learn the finer points. That part can take a while. I know that I am still working on it after getting my new C-MAX in the end of May. You don't have to keep working at it, once you are at this level. If you want to, you can. By this point, you are probably getting close to best performance. So, if you decide not to take the next step, you will still get great fuel economy. I figure that I am already driving. So, why not make the drive a little more fun by trying to do better with my driving skills? Really, it can make driving a lot of fun! :) -
C! C! C! The damage of being late is already done. Why add more damage by missing your 600+? You've worked too hard for this! You deserve this! Go for it! :shift:

First Screen Freeze! Woohoo!!!!!
ScubaDadMiami replied to fishead924's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
It is almost certainly hardware. I leave my C-MAX baking in mid-day sun. We have many days up to 96F here in the summer. So far, so good, since end of May, when I took delivery. -
I'm with Jmonty on this. I have my update scheduled for next Tuesday. I am reading the same threads that you must be reading. Other than some trouble performing the updates, once they are done properly, the results seem to be either no difference or positive, but not negative. I am not expecting much change in my city driving FE--where I get just shy of 50 MPG using 100 percent air conditioning--but I hope to get every MPG on the highway that is possible. If that turns out to be in the real world zone nearing 48 MPG for a speed of about 70 MPH, about my only remaining complaint about the C-MAX would be that terrible dead pedal--oh, and the required leather. Even 46 highway would do the job. (Note to self: Look at yourself now, complaining about such great FE, when your original goal was to get anything at least equal to 40 MPG! :nonono: )

Same thing just happened to me on Saturday. I was a little suspicious, but they told me the exact same thing as you. My SA said that they had done a bunch of the updates without problem, but that they just got a new version of software (for the dealer, not for the C-MAX), and that they spent over four hours the day before trying to do an update that would not take. They spent a lot of time with Ford via telephone, and Ford said that they had found a corrupt file or some problem with this version, and that they would be updating the software to fix the issue. Ford further instructed not to do any updates until resolved. EDIT: Just to make it clear, the problem software is not related to the C-MAX fuel economy update 13B07. The issue has to do with the updated IDS software. Also, the SA made it sound like this is not uncommon, and also said that they usually get the fix quickly, even the next day. I am going to call tomorrow. I now have my 13B07 scheduled for next Tuesday, the day after Labor Day.

Just as an FYI, I added data from a mobile phone (Android), which I believe is how I also loaded at least some of the prior fills.

Speaking of Fuelly, why is my signature not updating past fill number four? I see new stats on Fuelly, and I even re-did my signature here, just in case. :headscratch:
