  1. In case anyone needs another reason to love the C-MAX: Source: Gas Buddy. Paying more for fuel hurts, but the silver lining is, the more it costs, the more we save!
  2. Way to go plohnes!! In for a penny, in for a pound!!! (3538!!!)

    Elevation Profile 01

From the album: Riddley's First Album

GPS Calculator (Windows Phone App) - Elevation Profile
  4. Altimeter Apps for Windows Phone: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/search?q=altimeter Clinometer Apps for Windows Phone: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/search?q=clineometer For elevation and nearly everything else GPS-related, this one is probably the best for WP8: GPS Calculator One of the features I like is that you can record trips and do an elevation profile (which I'm going to use to figure out what is happening on my daily commute). Best of all - it seems to be FREE!
  5. On my way to work - 33 miles - I can usually get 3-5 Miles more per gallon than on the return trip. I've ruled out ambient temps, because temps are actually more favorable on the return trip. My working hypothesis is over the 35 miles, the altitude drops. So - in addition to the "inclinometer" it would be nice to have an altimeter. My dad had one installed in his truck - he was a long haul trucker.
  6. Marty, I think you will be fairly safe if your mileage is above 46.5 MPG for the tank (see below). When I did my 600 mile tank, my MPG was at 46.6 for the tank.I started my last 45 mile leg of the trip in the red, with 13 miles to empty. The gallons used readout when I started the last 45 mile leg was 12.1 gallons.I thought about buying a gallon of gas,. but then figured "in for a Penney, in for a Pound." Note: I also didn't "top off" the tank before starting. I never do that, but just stop filling when it shuts off the first time.
  7. I'm going out on a limb here - but not too far... I predict that the 600 club will include 10 members by the end of May, 15 by the end of June, 20 by the end of July. I predict that we'll see at least one of the women in the 600 club by the end of June, at least two by the end of summer .Recompence: Should exceed 675 by the end of June, and 680 by the end of July. Unless he gets his mods installed, then all bets are off.Joining Recompence in the 650 club this summer: Orphoto, Jus, and possibly PTJones. (If PT is still in the game, he might join the 675 club). The Seahawks will make the post season. The Mariners will not.My personal goal is to exceed 650 miles in a tank this summer, but so early in the break-in period, this will be pushing it.
  8. Me too. I've never had a charging problem, yet I look at all the threads on the forum. I certainly understand the frustration, but I can't support the irrational conclusions.
  9. My bad, I just meant "non-Energi", but grabbed the wrong term. .
  10. Way to go orphoto! 51MPG for a whole tank, and 643 miles total. Very Impressive!! That makes 3 additions to the 600 club in two days!! Yikes! It looks like with summer here, the club is going to have to either look for a larger club house, or take the party out onto the lawn!!
  11. Congratulations hmatthews102!!! This is not easy to do no matter what the weather!!

C-MAX Mileage at the end of the 4th tank.
  13. Thanks Adair and Rachel ! I'm so happy with the C-MAX. It seems to be so much more than just a car. I think this forum is a big part of that.
  14. What is your setting for the left side of MyView. Specifically, the 60.1 in the middle? Did you need to reset your lifetime to show that with gauge around it? Way to push the envelope Matt!! I have a long way to go before I will see even 10K total miles. It is good to know I might expect to see FE improvement all the way up to 20K.
  15. Do they let toddlers into this club? This was taken just at the end of the 4th tank. :baby:

    C-MAX 4th Fuel Fill up - 5/9/2013
  17. At the time this post was started, it wasn't obvious that new features were added to MFT after the first few months of production. If you can't see something, you don't know that you don't have it. Since most of the people on the forum at that time were early adopters, no one was talking about the features they weren't seeing. So, it was an "ah ha" moment for many people. After the first week - as with all threads, the conversation meandered into side alleys.
  18. I wouldn't have used the title if I wrote the article, but since it is the actual title of the article, I just went with it. I too hope the post doesn't start a fan-boy war, but the topic was probably bound to surface eventually, and I hope it generates some interest and thoughtful discussion. As an aside, I have a relatively diverse family dynamic . Wife and Daughter are multi-generation iPhone users, Dad (me) and other daughter are Windows phone users, Son is multi-generation Android user. The only thing I insist on is that we not be blindly religious or dogmatic about it. As a reflection of objectivity, I posted on future console technology from one of the other camps (Microsoft) here: Designing the (in) car experience of the future.
  19. Someone has probably already posted these, but just in case... I found these relatively recent articles interesting Would you buy an Apple iCar? In iOS 7, Apple wants to own your car’s console with Maps and Siri integration When it comes to in-car connectivity, It seems everyone wants in!
  20. Doh!!! Oh well. Now I don't have to worry that it was too off topic.
  21. Disclaimer - this is completely off topic. ... I'm not an Audi fan, but I liked this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPkByAkAdZs&feature=player_embedded Ford C-MAX Rewrite: Leonard Nimoy (the elder Spock) is not driving a Benz but a C-MAXLeonard Nimoy activates the C-MAX lift gate with his foot... and yes - it works the first time (this is TV). He drops the C-MAX rear seat with the touch of a button, and deposits his clubs. Zachary Quinto (younger Spock), while driving, looks at the Audi dash and notices that he is getting 23 MPG on the instant readout, frowns, and shuts off that display screenLeonard Nimoy, on the road in the CMAX, looks at his Empower screen, and notes that he is getting mid-40s for MPG and smilesZachary Quinto glances at his "miles to empty" readout (it is approaching zero) and then, cut to scene shown him filling up at a gas station Leonard Nimoy glances at his left gauges, sees he has a near full tank, and cycles through the screens and lands on the "Engage" screen. He recalls once being on the bridge of the Enterprise (next gen) and hearing captain Picard say "Engage". He smiles to himself - (illogically)Zachary Quinto, having been delayed by the gas stop, now has to drive quite aggressively to get back in the game, but arrives at the club first, in a somewhat agitated state, a bead of sweat forming on his brow.Leonard Nimoy, arriving at the club just seconds later than Zachary Quinto, cool and collected, steps out of the C-MAX and glances at the Hybrid emblem on the side of the car.The camera pans to the C-MAX Hybrid emblem. Leonard Nimoy says: "Sorry I was a bit delayed, <pause> I had to save the planet - Again!" The camera pans back to the two, and then Leonard Nimoy delivers his line: "... technically...'' and then the nerve pinch. (which is the gem of the spot)At the end, it is not another Audi that pulls up, but a Fusion Hybrid.
  22. I'm very interested in the design of information and entertainment systems in cars. I ran across an interesting 20 minute video interview with a Ford's CTO Paul Mascarenas and Microsoft's Kevin Dallas, discussing the design of next-generation in-car interfaces and experiences. I couldn't embed the video here, but if you visit this blog post, you can find the video near the bottom of the page: Blog: Designing the car experience of the future
  23. That would be excellent to see Salesguy.
