Thread on how to find the build date for your C-MAX: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/topic/1016-where-is-the-build-date-on-the-window-sticker/

Haven't seen this - but I would think it would be covered under your warrantee. It is a safety feature.
-
I will add: Make sure the car you select is manufactured in March or later - just to be safe. There are some system upgrades that early adopters are still waiting for.

Hi Disluvr, All your package options are detailed here: SE: http://www.ford.com/cars/cmax/trim/hybridse/SEL: http://www.ford.com/cars/cmax/trim/hybridsel/What is "My Key"? http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/mykey-encourages-good-driving-habits-sync.Note, MyKey is listed as standard on both the SE and SEL, so it should not be part of your calculation. What is "My Touch Ford and Sirius Pkg"? I don't think I need Sirius. What is the sync with My Ford Touch? SYNC: http://support.ford.com/topics/sync-technology-syncMyFord Touch: http://support.ford.com/topics/sync-technology-sync-myford-touchMany people on the forum have mentioned not wanting/needing Sirius. It is an individual preference thing. Some of the cool features of Sirius are that you can pause and rewind radio when you are listening to Sirius, and Sirius offers a few additional perks. Does the "Winter Package" come with heated cloth seats and the heated side mirrors? Not sure. The feature description for Heated Seats reads this way “Standard on the C-MAX SEL Hybrid and C-MAX Energi; available with the cloth seats on the SE Hybrid in the Winter Package.”The way I read this is that heated seats is “In the Winter Package”, however, when I look at the description of the winter package, Heated seats is not included. It would be best if you get verification from the dealer when you order. Heated Seats will be listed as a line item on the invoice. What is the reverse sensing system vs a rear camera? The reverse sensing system sensors in the lower rear bumper will beep the closer you get to an item when you’re slowly backing up. The rear parking aid is part of the Power Liftgate and Rear Park Aid Package on the C-MAX SE Hybrid. The rear parking aid is standard on the SEL Hybrid and C-MAX Energi; the power liftgate is not.The rear camera is a separate option that is included as part of the Hands Free package.I really like the push button start (spoiled from my Prius) and the rear camera but is it worth paying $3000 more? You would not be paying $3000 more for the push-button start and rear camera. The price difference you pay will include many other cool features that you might come to appreciate, if not adore.I would like to add that you might be able to convince yourself to go for the extra cost of the SEL if you can get yourself significantly under MSRP. For example, the Costco Auto Program in my area put the price at near Invoice, which made it a much easier decision for me. I ended up with the SEL and the 302A package.

I think I recall Big Red mentioning a feature idea that I wouldn't mind seeing: The brake coach functionality is nice, but would be a better coach if it showed some threshold information - the best range of pressure to use when braking.

I would recommend anyone looking at the C-MAX who is either a current or potential Prius owner - watch this video by Motor Trend staff: Ford C-Max vs Toyota Prius V! - Head 2 Head Episode 20: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=-8RYVjrb80o

Opti-Coat, any one try yet?
Riddley replied to C-MaxSea's topic in Appearance: Detailing, Wash & Wax
Will be looking into Opti-Coat from Metropolitan Detail in Bellevue - as soon as I can save some $$ for the work. I want this, and windows tinting. -
Well presented Jus!!

Hi Marty. Say "Call Barbara at home" .. That usually works for me. I mean... Oops!! - never mind... <where's the delete button>

I imagine Rita will be looking up Tom... and Stan Rogers. I still remember exactly where I was when I heard about Stan, having seen him play live not too long before.

I used to be a strictly left lane or middle lane driver. I find myself in the right lane much more these days. I am rarely in the left lane now. With what I am reading about the improved efficiency possible at 60+, I will be doing some testing and see if I can get good MPGs in the 60-65 mph range. That might set me back in the left lane again. I try to drive where I am not a nuisance to others. For the first 1000 miles (which was not too long ago) I was OCD about MPG. More recently I sometimes find I have traveled for many miles without looking at the left gauges. THe more I can do this, the better. I don't want to be so anxious about efficiency. I hope that eventually driving the C-MAX will turn out to be meditative, kind of like "Zen and the art of driving". I picture getting to a point where I might normally check the MPG estimate only after shutting it off at my destination. I can dream.

How to set up Audible audiobooks for use with SYNC
Riddley replied to Riddley's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I was not able to get Audible books working from USB yet - though I have done only limited testing. Until I get more time to test, my fallback has been to use the Audible App on my phone, which has been working reliably.- 5 replies

Viola! ceemax71 for president! Having lost the ability to pair my phone, I used the steps outlined at the links below, and now all is well. Master Reset: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch Basic Phone Pairing (no joy - I didn't have the pin) http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/pair-your-phone-sync Reverse Pairing (Sync provided the pin): http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/reverse-pair-phone-sync-myford-touch

ceemax71, Thanks so much for providing this information!! It pays to have someone in the forums who has the workshop manual, and is not afraid to look things up! My Sync lost the ability to pair with my phone today. I tried everything on the phone side. Now I need to try resetting the sync. I'll report back with results. Thanks again!!

I would recommend to anyone who is trying to decide between a Prius and the C-MAX to please watch this video by Motor Trend staff. It is thorough, and might be rather cheeky at times, which makes it better: Ford C-Max vs Toyota Prius V! - Head 2 Head Episode 20: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=-8RYVjrb80o

Thanks for posting this F8I! With any other car I've owned, I have usually looked for a good tire at a reasonable price. While I always consider performance characteristics (durability, all-season tread, road noise), the kind of calculations you've done would not have entered into my thinking about a replacement tire for the C-MAX. I appreciate the advice you've provided.
