  1. I love the rolling potato look. I hate the sedan look especially the latest Prius and Marai styling.

  4. Yep I still love my CMAX. I have a 2013 with a little over 40K. The brakes still have plenty of pad. The tires may need replacing next year. The only nuisance factor I seem to have is the car sometimes stuck in sleep mode. I feel like my FOB is getting weaker even after changing the battery. I am looking forward to see what Ford offers next year for their model E variants. It would be nice to have some of the latest tech.
  5. Agreed! My son and his wife both bought Prius primes this last year and the tech inside may be cool, I have to really bite my tongue when it comes to the outside and not complain. I know Toyota wanted the Priuses to have a unique look but come on. The rear end look is terrible and mileage should not trump everything especially rear passenger space. I would willingly sacrifice an mpg for taller rear headroom.
  6. Personally I love the Escape/CMAX look. The Chevy Bolt looks pretty good. I had a sedan and would not buy one again. I would never drive one on long distance. I prefer a trunk with flexibility and room and trying to shoe horn multiple suitcases in a sedan trunk. Why bother! That being said I don't know what the hell is going on with Toyota. The new Prius / Murai and Lexus looks are vomit worthy.
  7. All this makes me wonder a lot about how Ford will respond with upcoming Model E variations. Will they have something in the Escape class. IE a little more room and storage. Personally I am still pretty happy with the CMAX. My pet peeves are the turning radius, A frame visibility issues, trunk space, and the tech is behind.
  8. This happen to me recently. My guess is I was listening to the radio for a while when the car was off and it lowered the battery voltage. On traditional cars I could listen to the battery for a long time but it seems the newer cars have so much electronics and they put an undersized main/starter battery in it.
  9. My biggest beef on the CMAX is turning radius. So many parking spots I have avoided because of that.
  10. 30K extra miles on the plugin might be something to worry about as well given I have heard the CVT can have issues at higher mileage numbers.
  11. Horrible waste of space is correct. Who uses the HVAC quadrant? Why can't we customize the right screen display next to the speedometer to show more stuff from the left side?
  12. I wonder what that system would do to software upgrades as Ford would not probably not recognize a 2013-2015 CMAX as being SYNC3 capable. Heck I can't even get the 3.8 upgrade into my car as it now from their site. 2K is quite a pop although if you plan to keep your car for 15 years maybe its worth it especially given CarPlay and better use of the phone.

  14. I need longer range. If I want to drive from SF to LA its 300+ miles. I don't plan on owning multiple cars or having to wait at Bakersfield for hours for another kick in the pants. I am so used to my 600 mile tank on the MAX. I don't think I can go all electric.
  15. I just had service done at the dealer and they did no do anything. I still think they are waiting on some fix from Apple before letting it go wide live. Ford never seems to want to give a STRAIGHT answer.
  16. Yea its getting kind of annoying. I read somewhere that there was some issue that they were waiting for Apple to fix. I don't know if there was a correlation to 3.8 but I wonder if Ford just pulled things until Apple releases there next IOS rev. I just wish Ford would give a straight up answer. I can't believe its an issue with their website and VINs.
  17. Try looking up real world selling prices. I don't think hybrids are commanding that much of a markup in todays market.
  18. I think if one was truly just about cost and breakeven then you should probably just buy the cheapest car period. Whats the payoff on better looking materials? Whats the payoff on 0-60 times? Whats the payoff on tech like backup cameras or bluetooth? Whats the payoff on 7 seats vs 5 if you only use them every few weeks? . . . In many cases now hybrids are cheaper than before because they are just not as popular and how does that affect all the analysis.
  19. Nice idea but then why buy one. Just pay for Uber when you need it. Sort of like living in NYC without the city and/or high prices.

  21. How do you see your up to date without clicking "Check for Software Updates"? I do that and then it shows I am up to date. Also if I click Full Sync History" and then all available updates, it just takes me back to the main screen.
  22. Are you guys all seeing updates on the owner page? I dont yet and I dont see how I would be able to update XML file if the page is not ready to accept an update. And yes I did pass my VIN along to Ford as a PM as a result of this thread!
  23. I have to say I am a bit disgusted on how long this is taking and no real status other than stay tuned. It sort of reminds me of how long various stores are taking to tunr on ApplePay like Home Depot, CVS, and Target. Reputations go downhill fast when a company cannot provide decent communication beyond hold on. I can accept delays but I do not tolerate vagueness.

    What your saying is the 3rd party market won't be able to do this. To bad! I guess I will be waiting to see what your 2018/2019 new product has in store.

    The follow up question is can you buy the 2016 Sync 3 display module and install it in a 2013 or does it require a new cable and PCM as well. I have no idea if that would be price oppressive but assuming the software is a free upgrade I think we would be curious how expensive the upgrade path is.
