  1. wow oucb. not another black eye for this car.and if they have to remove and replace the headliner or get access to under it to add padding, that will be very labor intensive and part expensive for them to eat all that cost since that's a lot of vehicles to fix. :(
  2. and all the updates and fixes all beta testers here have had to deal with should be already applied by the factory (as well as the "higher mpg mod" they surely added) :) so hopefully less issues with the 14s. keep us updated.
  3. your the 1st person who said they are getting a 2014. can't wait to hear all about it. i created a separate thread for 2014 buyers so please post something over there and keep us updated on the progress. good luck. Will be nice to see how one with all the fixes already installed by factory will do compared to all the beta testers here who go the first model year and has to patch update like crazy. here is the 2014 thread: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2280-2014-c-max-buyers-shoppers/?do=findComment&comment=25172
  4. Jus, when in mobile version, how do i use the all important circle or star feature for reading the first post where i left off as i don't see it in mobile view on my phone, only in web mode. help thank you.
  5. if you click on "view new content" link at the top of the page, you can see all new items since your last visit. then click on the filled circle/bullet on the left of each thread shown to jump to where you left off last time you read that forum. if you see a star instead of a filled circle/bullet then that means you posted something in that thread so click on the filled star to jump to the newest post since your last reading of that thread.
  6. great job on such a new car. hope it gets even better with age.
  7. sounds like something in the dash is heating up and expanding and causing loss of connection or causing an intermittent.
  8. SBGrad, do this,: Settings/About Phone/ that should show your "Android version" info
  9. oh the horror!!! women, grab your children and RUN RUN RUN away!!!#$@ you tired, SCOUNDREL!!! hahaha too funny. :drop:
  10. i think we found the reason you're not getting that great gas mileage....all that heavy white stuff sticking to the top of your car. i think you need to remove that, then you will get better mileage....just saying
  11. thanks Noah. yeah so the trip Summary is then rounding up/down to show the results as xx.x (1 decimal) where the trip 2 doesn't and shows it as xx.xx (2 decimals). it would be nice to have 2 on the summary screen to see minor differences and if trying to beat a personal mpg record but they either ran out of screen space or thought it wasn't important enough. i guess they thought you'd use trip 2 to get your petty cash back from your employer for work driving/travel tracking miles. guess you need a ScanGuage if you want more digits for hypermiling tests/data tracking.
  12. in those cases you'd want to increase tire pressure to minimize roll resistance, right? yes extra weight is good if you could always just coast down a hill all the time (potential energy due to gravity effect) but hurts you when you need to drive on flat or uphill roads. it's always a delicate balance. but our cars are not always able to be used as science projects/hyper mile tools and need to be driven as cars /haulers of people/things most of the time so....
  13. stilimited, what happened to and from the restaurant on your trip? must be very hilly both ways for a drop like that in mpgs, or else you took the freeway and drove at 85mph. :)
  14. i use Gas Buddy as well. prices are usually updated pretty frequently every few hrs or less depending on how busy your city area is. and some stations change less depending on if they are independent or a national chain. gas did go up a little from last week but is lower than a month ago. true national gas price changes can be found here on the AAA gas price tracker site below. if you click on your state icon you can see a graph and change info details: http://fuelgaugereport.aaa.com/?redirectto=http://fuelgaugereport.opisnet.com/index.asp
  15. any unsold cars would most likely end up in taxi cab or corporate fleets as business cars. i agree advertising is practically nil for the cmax lately. they don't play the cartoon one anymore but do play the blonde thin woman in her c-max every so often. I'm sure the current lawsuit didn't help and until they fix the testing with epa .... (May take a while). i wonder if Toyota requested a cease and desist from Ford on their advertising of the cmax comparing it to the Prius based on mpg data. i agree only the warmer states will have higher hybrid sales.perhaps Ford overbought on what they thought they could do at new owner acquisitions to take over Toyota and make folks but a Ford instead. too many green car options now and yes the cmax design isn't for all tastes I'm sure. The Fusion is a sexy car for sure. CMax more practical but not every soccer mom wants to lose her big SUV for a c-max no matter how expensive gas gets.
  16. we know the software and production line assembly improvements/issues (stuff behind the scenes) will be changed for sure on the 2014 but there is nothing they can list on the options sheet as a change, yes that is true.
  17. You can setup your ev+ locations by turning the car on and off 11 times while at the location you want to set (home / work). This speeds up the process instead of having to wait for it to kick in itself.
  18. the extending (push/pull in out to get more coverage to block more sun) was/is my favorite feature of my previous 2004.5 Passat and my current 2012 Passat.I don't think i could live without those.sad that more car mfgs don't install these as std as surely they can't cost that much more that the non extending ones. this will be a smart mood of you mod of you do it.
  19. foto, are those retainers from the dealer or aftermarket? easy to install without and cutting/drilling? I'm surprised the car doesn't come with those as standard equipment.
  20. welcome SOMD.congrats on your new car yes surprised about how much contamination gets built up as the cars sit outside in the elements at the dealer and yes they mainly hose off and dry.even their detail is not a real detail. hope you can keep your new car shiny in your garage. be sure to post all your findings and good/bad things about the car as well as your mpg numbers and read info here and ask for help. be sure to sign up on fuelly.com to track your mpg data.
  21. good to hear an owner confirm what we were all speculating that Ford did indeed tweak things (over and above nav and synch) without letting everyone know exactly what they changed. how it leads to more fun and better mpg on your car. a Ford employee recently so much as confirmed this fact to another forum poster here on another thread here.
  22. Jus, recump, others with lots of miles on your Cmax, how long do you plan to keep your CMax and what do you plan to do one is life is over?
  23. the EPA number are NOT based/chosen on what the public wants but what the govt agency specifies. this is nothing new. alsoll mfgs use the lower 62 mph or less for their highway tests.it's not reality to anyone driving in the last 30-40 yrs but that's what it is. time to write your lawmakers and govt reps to complain to change how the testing is done.it's 47/47 because that is what the test results matched for the EPA specified tests.if they put 47/37 that would be fraud as well for under reporting their values although no one would complain if they got more but it doesn't work that way. (insert car maker name here) just puts up what the EPA says they meet
  24. i think the hybrid is really the best bet. the plug in is really only for those who really only drive around town and < 40mph, which is a rare selected few, and with the limited cargo area(pretty sure they will change that for 2015 model), and lower mpg numbers for highway, i think you have to really know what you are going to be doing with the Energi before buying one. like having it for a 2nd car for just around town whereas your primary car is for all other drives.
  25. Rule 1 for new hybrid drivers: Move to the right and slow down ;)
