  1. i agree scuba i wouldn't risk it. too early.give it more time to break in and temps to cool down a bit.you will get there.don't rush it.
  2. how did you deal with the gas fumes/smell stinking up your beautiful cmax?!! :gaah:  (need a new emoticon for smelly /holding nose closed)
  3. Jus how can you tell they were EVing??? You must be lucky to see so many. maybe Galpin is selling them like crazy there in the valley. im surprised i don't see more down here near me closer to Orange county.
  4. Joe, that is because Ford only allots so many cars per dealer and they have to wait to sell them. the places where they expect to sell more will get more cars per allotment like in CA or other places where hybrids sell a lot.
  5. that is funny huh Adair.maybe too many auto workers/employees live there and would mess up the survey user data/info they wanted to gather from the other non auto world folks in America. :) maybe they should attract enough attention or they already got enough data from their own already in the motor city (well used to be motor city).
  6. i hope you had rockin cool day recump..... . :happy feet: :clapping:
  7. actually that is a standard feature built in to the car at no extra cost . you press in the middle of your steering wheel a few times. let me look that up.....oh ok here it is .... they call it a "horn"!! :drop:  enjoy your new car
  8. madman,3 more questions: 1) before the event did they send you an email on all the rules and what to do, bring, etc or not? 2) did you see any kids of the drivers there (under 18) just hanging out watching their parent(s) doing the challenge or were they prohibited? want to know if we can bring our 12yr old son or not to the event or have to leave him home.in one of the vids on the Ford site it shows a kid in the back seat being thrown around sure to the G-Forces while their parent drive a challenge. 3) did they let you take pix at the event/bring your camera or not? (see Q#1) we do want to share and document for those here who didn't get to go.
  9. ok as long as you don't expect to get good mpg numbers if this is your normal routine.
  10. might have better results in this thread but your symptoms are very unique that we haven't heard about before: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/361-battery-dead/
  11. you get what is advertised including (your mileage may vary) if you drive it exactly like the epa tests which many dont. but you might also get ALOT more than the EPA, if you know your car, route and have good temps, like JusACMax and recumpence and many others here in this forum.
  12. ok well the event in los Angeles is 1 week away for Jus and I. anyone else here sign up for one of these events?
  13. thanks for the input. i was worried about the stick shift part.hmm i wonder how many lie about this part? how many users (non Ford folks) were there at the event during your hour and what time did you pick? so you can't do one of the other 3 parts of you can't do the stick shift driving part? was it all guys out were there women there too? glad to hear they will have a grey Cmax there as that's what we are thinking of getting. did they ask you if you were getting a Ford due to the results of the event? did they give you any tips on mpg or just let you try to get the best you could? i guess you can't do too many things in only a mile and esp if there are no hills or traffic to deal with.
  14. Jus, congrats on your 55.7mpg last tank and finally breaking your lifetime fuelly avg of 47.1 now meeting the EPA number.
  15. you need to filter to only include the hybrid models (which is about 153 or so) and remove the gas and diesel models from Europe in your data. this would give and avg of 40.3 (as calculated, which i did) try this one instead: http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/c-max/2013/hybrid%20l4
  16. that's too bad. i use this info on my Passat to show me the differences tank to tank to know when i got more city or highway driving. without this info i could not determine what to put into fuelly for the split of city/hwy
  17. isn't there a screen to tell you what your avg speed was for the tank?
  18. Vienna, when you bought the car, what were your expectations for mpg knowing you got a hybrid when it was not your best choice for doing mostly NON city driving where a hybrid excels (as most already know). the cmax is not the only hybrid that would get lower mpgs on highway/freeway driving so why think otherwise? Did you do any research on hybrid technology?is this the first hybrid.? a gas or diesel car might have been a better choice but you still would NOT be getting 35+ mpg constantly as most are in the C-Max. Edit: changed "would to would NOT"
  19. did you reset your lifetime avg mpg screen when you bought it? did you update your car with any tsbs? do you have eco crusie and ev+ turned on in the menus? what are your typical temps for weather in your area? do you use any tips posted here to improve your mileage?
  20. btw, why is this an FSA and not a safety recall since it relates to safety?
  21. nothing says you HAVE to do it. how often does a roll over happen.we don't know what it will cause if there is one.only the ones at the dealer and factory are affected by the hold. hey, user MadManMoon here on the forums was supposed to get their car in 2 weeks? if they didnt get the sunroof would the dealer hold it out key them take it and come back when there are parts and a fix?
  22. that will definitely kill your mpgs (the idling part).why can't you just turn the car off and use accessory mode to power your laptop?
  23. I'm not sure why it's so important to prove to your dealer you have more info than they do. just as its not really that good to tell the techs you know more about an service issue than they do. it might be true but i guarantee they hate this. i also don't see what having your VIN does for the customer as its just a number. I'm sure dealers don't like customers having access to stuff or sites that shouldn't if they are normally only for dealer access. until the car arrives it does no good to harass them about your car.it gets there when it does. and you don't get it until they ddetail it anyways. dealers are busy trying to sell more cars not check on a number for you.i agree the mfgs SHOULD make it easier for customers to track their orders but they don't. I'm sure the minority of folks here on the forums are greatly outnumbered by those not in the know about these tracking methods and are happy just waiting till they get a call from their dealer. is it really that big a deal?
