  1. so this will be basically everyone's BEST mpg on their fuelly.com chart after the start date of this challenge and will rank everyone here in the cmax club regardless of mpg just so that everyone gets to be on >A< challenge list with their PR/ PB (personal best) in the cmax. the list will include everyone who posts a pix as proof.
  2. Jus, what did the experts at Ford ask you about any needed screen layouts improvements , during the Irvine event?? if they asked you how you wanted it done if any different.
  3. they prob figured most people need the all windows down feature from outside the car and will auto up all the windows from inside the car before turning it off and exiting the car. not many folks i know that just walk away from their car with all windows down, at least not if they don't want their car stolen. :headscratch: :hat_tip:
  4. what!?? you mean you can't do that at all? on my nav it lets you enter after you get a warning pop up box and you have to hit "agreed" that you will obey all laws and regs. i agree most have a passenger / spouse to enter directions for you. i could see this as a major issue on a road trip when traveling long distances and there is no where to pull over to stop on a highway but you need to find the nearest rest stop / food place or gas station. i guess that is where voice commands for nav come into play?

    Memory Seats?

i agree a car at $30k should have this feature as std. my Passat has this just as you stated, linked to each key fob so wife or me can have our seat positions remembered with our own keys. this being a European car brought to the usa, you'd think they'd get this right. oh ..... now i remember....all hypermilers throw out their spouses and only drive solo in order to max out their mpg numbers. can't have any extra "dead weight" allowed in their hybrid car.... ;)
  6. uh did you attach the wrong pix? shows trip was only 2.8 miles not the 70+ miles you stated.
  7. but we do know that very few have reported any new dead battery stories here in quite some time, compared to a few months ago when it seemed like every week we had 1-3 more "dead after sitting" stories.something has changed for the better, whether it be replaced batteries or updates to their systems or other replaced parts, or new builds don't have this issue.
  8. spy burn, didn't you get the memo??? after the FE update is released in Aug , the 600 mile club will become the 700 mile club so......bar will be higher. ;) j/k
  9. many folks with this issue early on before the update was created posted that they needed the rubber seals replaced or latcg adjusted to fix a sticky rear hatch as it would open but not raise. have the dealer look at the mechanical linkage and seals. the software update was for those where it WOULD open, but only after 2 kicks, instead of only 1 required kick, as it was designed.
  10. Gary M, in regards to your 7% more burned question, the cmaxes dash screen mpg numbers are known to be at least 1-3 mpg overstated compared to the actual as calculated mpg once you fill up.
  11. was wondering the same thing but felt bad to ask after the unfortunate event that happened to him. was wondering if they let him use them right away and use previous fuelly data or made him get 2000 miles of baseline data first.
  12. maybe once in a blue moon and only at initial start when it won't affect my mpg numbers. once it's going it's good for me. reminder...i don't own a C-Max yet.... maybe time to find a new gas station for your fillups???
  13. if that is true that is a huge potential source of FE variation.i meant in general it's best to use one method of filling the tank and its also best to not top off to avoid under reporting your mpg numbers. and to also overflowing the tank. quoted: "even this is sketchy because, as we know, some dispenser nozzles don't play that well with the capless gas tank and you have to find the spot where the nozzle doesn't shut off."
  14. grgg, I'm sure Ford was forced into this somehow by their engr and legal team to CTA (cover their a@@) even if there was no wrong doing in the EPA testing, which i don't believe there was. better to have a plan B than no plan at all.if those who sued didn't want to settle out of court, they may of had to do something to make up for their problems (regarding low mpgs ) and on more than just a single customer by customer basis. we will most likely never know the truth since most of these things are hidden from the public. and since most companies DO want to improve their products, its only logical they would have made updates after almost a year with of first year data from their test team and the warranty repairs, just like they have done for the mft/synch issues. since its not a hardware replacement part but instead a computer software update to do the FE update, they can claim this was always the plan.and with many getting over 47 mpg they can show it wasn't a blatant trick by Ford to cheat. if all users got 35-40 mpg then that would be another story. just because someone sued them and they have a patch to improve the FE doesn't mean the sue happy owners were not driving harshly/badly to begin with.
  15. you need to setup fuelly to ask you for how many gallons you used and how many miles you drove and the price of gas you bought. just ignore your dash mpg. fuelly does not ask you to enter what mpg your dash said you got. be sure you don't top off the gas pump when you fill up either. just stop at the first click off, other wise you will be off as well since your putting in more gas, meaning less mpg.
  16. perhaps here, but i couldn't find the field on the spreadsheet on the 2nd tab where the C-max is shown: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/download.shtml
  17. btw will this forum thread be void and null after the FE update comes out and is applied?. those posting here with 600+ miles would need to specify if they updated their version or not or if their car was built after July/Aug 2013
  18. something is not right in your Fuelly as 637.8 miles divided by 12.243 gallons >IS< 49.94 mpg quote: receipt shows 12.243 gallons filled. Fuelly stated MPG for this tank = 52.1
  19. wow amazing. i bet you 99% he works for an oil company and doesn't want to lose gas customers or his job during a layoff when the world moves on to a better way of life. :)
  20. what do you mean **Fuelly* reported 41.fuelly only reports what you enter into it. the actual mpg value is calculated by miles driven for the tank (down on your trip 1 or2 display) divided by gallons filed into tank at the pump.are you comparing what your dash said you got?? as that is not accurate and known to over state your mpgs by about 1-3 mpg (as reported by many users posts here in the forums).
  21. Jay, the forum already has 3 pages of talk about this topic here (see below). might want to follow that thread to keep up to date with this update: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2536-ford-to-offer-free-updates-to-boost-hybrid-vehicle-efficiency/
  22. Edmunds.com is a good source. if you are an AAA member or costco member you can do even better at the price and they can't argue with you as they have their one no hassle price but you should comparison shop the one price from one dealer with another local dealer to see if they can beat the first dealers price.try the AAA site as well for pricing. don't believe the dealer, they ALWAYS make money even if they sell it at invoice as the mfg still pays them, they just don't get their extras they always expect the rubber mats are good to get as the cloth, rug type will get very dirty and worn out in a very short time. you can buy them after if you want.same as the cargo net stuff. so don't let them force you to buy it as they aren't installed permanently in the car.it's just a nice thing to get and most do. get the car at the price you want. most say that if you can get a car at about $200-$500 over the invoice price you've done good. the dealer does deserve to get something. remember too that the cmax is in high demand right now (can't keep up with demand) so they can and will get a higher price than if it was a dud and they would almost pay you to take it off their hands as they lose money every day the car sits on their lot unsold.but you don't have to be their next "$ucker" either. they make plenty of money on folks who DONT do their research so don't worry about the dealer losing money. you need your own cash for those rare trips to the gas station you will be making. ;) one more thing don't make the mistake of buying a Pruis V. you will pay more for less options and the Prius doesn't even have some of the features of the cmax. and that doesn't even start with the ride, quality finishes and fun that is in the C-max compared to the Prius.
  23. glad we have some brave souls to bring up the front attack and storm the beaches of better FE. i would expect those with mpgs <40 would have the most to gain and the least to lose.and any change would be more noticeable than those getting 45-55 mpg now as surely they can't make those improve more than 1-3 mpg
  24. great article showing the negative aspects of the poor EPA test model and how it hurts hybrids: http://www.chron.com/cars/article/Why-is-the-EPA-so-bad-at-estimating-hybrid-fuel-4483222.php
  25. interesting article here with some alternatives to the EPA method: http://theenergycollective.com/willem-post/184756/plug-hybrid-mileage-overstated-epa
