  1. You can run pricing on true car.com and edmunds.com Then add in whatever x-plan discount you can apply. I don't know about that since we don't have that but it's usefully another $500-1000 off I would think. Flee y 25k I think you'd only be able to get a base/bare bones model with out many options though. The best to get is the SEL with at least the 302a package. Top of the line is the 303a which had the automatic parallel parking assist feature.
  2. If you car is Nov 2012 build then of course it would have the early problems that many saw. Regardless of when you bought it, what matters is when it was built. New ones built in the last 4-6 months are very good per user reports here.
  3. Serious issues??? I think you found the wrong forum then as the one who had SERIOUS (as in killing people serious issues) is GM General Motors, . With cars like Chevy and Buick etc. Talk about liars and cheats and scoundrels. You wouldn't catch me dead in one of their dealers even if you paid me to and gave me one of their cats for free. I'd burn it.wouldn't even sell it and risk someone else dying in one of their death traps. Ford has issues like all automobile companies but those issues in the CMax are like little gnats compared to the wolves/alligator/piranhas that GM has.
  4. It's probably the evil twin site where all the negative reviews and bad data about the cmax we've been hearing about is coming from, set up by scared prius owners who Hate Ford and just want to cause trouble .....and take customers away from leaving to the "dark side" of American made car ownership. ;) ;) :p
  5. I saw my very first candy blue colored Cmax (that was the street and not on a dealer lot) yesterday as I drove out of my work to go home on Anaheim, CA about 2 miles from Disneyland). It was going the opposite direction. I was so shocked to see one sol fast after getting off work and surprised it was blue. There is a white one I see down there a lot. No pix sorry. Didn't have time to blink let alone get phone while driving and take a pix of a cmax going opposite direction. I do have a bunch of pix I've taken in the last year of all the cmax sightings but haven't posted them so hope to find some time to get them on my box account so you can get a link to view them. I usually see white and grey ones here on so cal.
  6. Cosmo, is that white one in the pix the Special white color that you have to pay more for? Or the basic white color?
  7. Correct their major savings is usually seen at highway/freeway speeds. JUS-a-cmax is the exception to every rule. He finds ways to save mpg even when it's impossible to do so ;)
  8. You always find a way to make me laugh Jus-tin !!! :)
  9. be sure to sign up and create an account at fuelly.com so you can track your mpg/mileage and share your results with the rest of us and other CMax owners
  10. You will actually get worse gas mileage if you are using a bad mpg car/SUV on a very short trip since its not even getting warmed up fully within 3 miles probably. BTW, congrats on your new ride. Enjoy it You will love this forum and the cool/kind folks here who are very helpful
  11. The latest article about a Prius using gas pods and getting +11% MPG is located here: http://www.gaspods.com/toyota_prius_better_fuel_economy/
  12. You guys keep on rockin it big time with all the new additions to the 600 mi club and all those breaking your old PRs. Keep it up. Hope to join one day..... Im sure we can get in with no problems,
  13. Welcome to all the new members who recently joined in the past few weeks. Best wishes and happy high MPGs to you all. Enjoy your new hybrid car/experiences. Lots of GREAT and helpful info here for sure for all of you to learn from the masters of MPG like Jus-A-CMax and ptjones. they are the gurus of gas-less :)
  14. those Conti PureContacts with EcoPlus tech look very good for me after reading up on them......
  15. Darrel, what you would suggest/recommend I get for my Passat SEL Premium when its time. Im on 21k mile now on my stock OEM Hankooks, which suck with their road noise and not the greatest feel and performance. Id like to get better fuel economy but still want good cornering and handling in All weather even though it doesn't rain here in So. Cal very much. You can PM if you want instead of posting here.
  16. Jus you better get rid of that Van den Plas or else all your savings with your CMax is cancelled out with that Jag Its funny, when I was a teenager and into cars, with posters all over my room and cut outs from car mags, one of the cars I drooled over and loved the look of was the Jaguar Van Den Plas :) The new jags (F type) are REALLY gorgeous for sure.
  17. Dont forget the folks posting about battery issues here on these threads are only a very small sample set of all folks who own CMaxes. Yes it seems the dead battery problem is the biggest issue out of all issues so far on this car, but dont forget that most people talk about the BAD stuff on the forums and not the good stuff. There are a LOT of CMax owners who are NOT on these forums (let alone even know what a forum is ) and cant post all the good/non-issues they have had with thei CMaxes so know that forums will ALWAY have more users posting with issues than owners who DONT have issues. But yes you have to have your checklist with your top 10 things you MUST have on your new car and the things you WANT to have and if the car doesnt match the majority of those things or makes you mad about / irritates you about something then that will be your deal breaker, which may be a NON issue for another consumer. Best luck whatever you do its good to know the CMax was in your top 3 choices of all the hundreds of cars possible out there Not a bad thing
  18. Were you looking at the SE or SEL version ?as the SEs have had more issues (most) with the dead battery problem
  19. FYI - They dont update map data until LONG after the construction is completed. They (state/city) cant legally do it since the construction has to be stated completely done and then the municipalities/cities/states have the road engineers have to then map it electronically with a gps enabled car and if there are road sensors then need to get all that data. Then after that they need to edit it and then they need to verify it and then they need to sell it to all the map makers like NAVTeq and others like them, and then Navteq and others sell that data to the Automobile makers so that they can include it in a DVD-rom or SD card to include on their cars. This is a very long process so by the time a DVD/SD card is available to the public, your data may be already 1-2 years old already, meaning that the businesses (POIs) data is even worse since businesses and POIs change more than roads do which is the more important reason to update your NAV SD card or DVD-rom, to get the latest POIs info. Roads dont change that often You can see if a new road/street is on the new map data by going to the NAVteq site since they supply the majority of the gos data for Garmin and most other NAV units. Every auto maker is different though. Not sure what Ford uses. You can go here to report a new road if its not already in there or if you see an error so it gets fixed on the next map update: https://mapreporter.navteq.com/?userType=CONSUMER&language=en#dashboard
  20. Anyone know when the new Audi style QNX audio/nav type system is coming to replace the Sync/My Touch? (2015 model or 2016)?
  21. Mr. Sparks, that is exactly why the dealerships are responsible to TEACH the customers/public about the tech and the car so thnat they (customer) becomes knowledgeable and then go out and tell their other friends as well. It's free advertising if they would just make the effort. Sad sad. The internet has a wealth of info.they can at least try. Customers usually always know more about the car than the seller. It had been my experience when I bought the brand new cars I've owned in my life (Ford Probe GT, and 2 Volkswagen Passats)
  22. Probably having the dealerships sales force focus-ing (pun intended) on the higher margin cars like the Mustangs and Fusion and trucks instead. I agree they are missing the boat by not touting all the great stuff where it does best out many other cars in their competing segment.surely they fired the last marketing guy after that fiasco with the cartoon commercials.yuck
  23. Just found this show just now while flipping around channels. Watching it on Time Warner Cable Sports Net (TWCS) channel 578 on Verizon FiOS in So. Cal. Very cool. That Focus super car is crazy. No CMaxes but still cool. They race on the Irwindale Speedway which is pretty close to my house in Whittier, CA.
  24. Fouts, does your driving style, (city vs mixed city and highway) match more for the plugin or did it match the hybrid more? I assume you don't lug around a lot of stuff like groceries or luggage to care of the major loss in space in the rear hatch area?? So glad Ford didn't just copy over the last year's car and call it a 14 and that there ARE at least minor tweaks to make it better for the customer. Enjoy your new CMax
  25. Meh. Kinda ruins the clean edged look for me.
