  1. Don't just mention this forum, print out posts with multiple user names shown with dates to take to the dealer with you as evidence and to get some power to twist their arm. Good luck.
  2. If the battery was really the source/cause of the problem Ford would have already issued a recall on all batteries for all owners cars or at least the "bad lot #/ batch #" that was affected by whatever quality/process issues caused the problem/defect. Since that has not been the case and since others here have had the dead battery issues even AFTER a re placed battery so that won't solve it. They are just trying to get you of the phone and check the box on the "canned speech/docs that all cust service folks go by"
  3. This is the critical element that leads/points to either the corroded water pump terminals or the water intrusion on connectors in another electrical part issue. Water/moisture causes short or drain on battery and owners not driving enough to recharge drain to overcome the parasitic loss.
  4. Tell the wife you just read on a c-max forum there may be a service update to "fix an issue" (wink wink) but you need to take it up to highway speed to test out the issue is/isn't on her car , then steal/borrow the car for an hours time and have fun and do some testing for the forum and you to see if you can test out the EV mode at highway speeds. When you get back tell the wife her car is "fine"and doesn't have any issues, or if you can't get it into EV mode at highway speeds tell her you need to take it in to fix the issue to upgrade to latest program.
  5. Check for corrosion on terminals of water pump under car and for the water intrusion as has been reported on a service recall. The battery is just the part getting messed up by the primary / real issue of an electrical short / drain on the system because of something else(currently unknown by Ford)...'at least they are not saying
  6. If the root cause of the battery issue is really the corroded terminals of the water pump as some have said in another forum then the Energi would only be masking the problem as its constantly recharging the car when plugged in. Surely they share the same part on the hybrid and Energi and both would have unprotected contacts. .over time a short or fire may happen on the Energi if not diagnosed properly.until it's solved anything is possible on any version of the car (hybrid or energis and modelsSWE or SEL)
  7. Thats cool they wanted to contact you if they had questions. You could always handwrite on the back " call so and so @ xxx-xxx-xxx if you have any cmax questions"
  8. What can I do on my Kindle Fire tablet to do the same kind of blocking using the silk built in browser? I get the same ads at the top of the cmax forum.
  9. Ptjones like your cards better as it shows the actual car (the cmax) in question but you need to remove your own personal info so it's more generic to give out to anyone or leave on a car so it doesn't come off as a sales thing or you trying to attack someone or get a pick up line from a woman. Keep it group related not personal. You will get more folks to join that way.
  10. There is a white c-max parked on a street near my route to work that I always see every day that was thinking about putting a flyer on to tell them about this forum.you never know. Good idea but... The race car pix my turn off many/most who will think it's for a tint/alarm shop or mobile detailing business though. Would have been better to keep it plain without a car. Most hybrid owners aren't into sports cars..let say... :) Just saying
  11. The deal breaker for a wife/mom on the Energi even with all the incentives/rebate is the super small trunk/cargo area site to the higher hump of the battery. most moms/wifes need that larger space in back to carry around stuff and won't want to lift it up higher over the hump than they need to. Get the hybrid SEL. Also the Energi is only for folks who mostly do stuff around their house and drive mostly the town/city at less than 35/40 mph. If you plan to drive at highway speeds at 45-75 mph most of the time and some city then the hybrid makes much more sense. don't forget to take into account the cost of installing and running the extra power source in your garage if you go for the Energi. Some houses aren't even rated for it and have to put in a separate breaker.
  12. Yeah so do I/we. All good things come to those who wait. Patience is a virtue....but it still sucks. Can't complain to much I guess. We shall see.
  13. Today on my way home from work, a few blocks from my home I spotted a White C-Max (unknown year/model) that had a huge Quest Diagnostics log on the side doors. Not sure if this was a free car they give them to advertise the company or an actual company car but it was interesting,. Havent seen anything like that before. Very cool to see it right around the block from my house Anyone see any other "ads" C-Maxes out there, and Im not including taxi Cmaxes in this question of course
  14. I too see all the Priuses going 75-85 flying past everyone on the freeway when Im in my gas Passat coasting trying to optimize my mpgs doing 65-66 :) to each his own i guess they think just because they own a hybrid they automatically get 50 mpgs? even with stupid driving habits :) ha!
  15. Dottie yes its always good to post a ticket on the official corportate site so its documented and raised to a higher priority and they know more and more are having this issue so they can once and for all fix it good luck im tired of hearing of this OLD problem still happening 1.5 yrs after the car has been 1st launched and Im a potential buyer of this car...
  16. Welcome to the CMax forum Glad u joined us you found the best place to get friendly helpful cmax advice/info there is a member on here who is a ford rep that specializes in the sync system so ask there if you can find the forum or post a new post in the technology related forum area have fun
  17. dont stop that keep it up the more they know the better and the more CMaxes we can help sell and take over Prii kingdom one day :P
  18. YOU have a say in this too You are married and are supposed to share everything and YOUR opinion matters just as much as hers. Get the CMax stick to your guns better to not regret it later with a bad back/neck nothing worse than being stuck in traffic in a car that is uncomfortable! if you switch cars often then your vote counts offer to pay for the difference out of your share of money so she cant complain
  19. Nooooooooo!!!! they are doing away with our fav #1 exterior color choice of Sterling Grey!!! we dont want silver and that other one is just a lighter black? whats up with that? how could they kill the MOST popular color they had?????? idiots Now what do we do? looks like the CMax is no more for us.... :(
  20. Monoprice is the only place to buy any kind of cable where you wont get ripped off royally
  21. Hmm the way its going with our life and bumps in the road preventing my wife from getting her CMax.....we might just end up getting a 2015... hope they add lots of cool things
  22. Hope to see more CMaxes out there with shark fins instead of fishing poles someday
  23. Just make sure someone at the dealer does a ride along with you in the car and not just them driving it and saying "no issue found" when you get it back
  24. low psi in tires can account for anywhere from 2 to 5 mpgs many here over inflate their tires above recommended to say around 45-50 psi to get better mpgs but with slightly worse handing of course since it doesnt rain or snow here in CA you can be ok compared to other users who would not want to risk it
  25. Also if you have the 8" display on the center console (for your radio/nav) you can hit the "i" info button on the screen to show the pix of the car to see what part of the car is using the engine power and if its charging or not not sure what its called but...
