locot
Just curious. I've taken my car in several times now for the updates, headliner recall, hatch reprogram, fine tuning the alignment, fine tuning body panel gaps, and soon I'm going to take it in to check out the AC compressor noise. All of this work was done under warranty, but they've spent considerable labor hours. Do the dealerships get compensated by Ford for warranty related work? Is warranty work frowned upon by dealers and not given as much attention as customer who paid for their repairs? Thanks Edited August 22, 2013 by locot
fotomoto
Yes. Manufactures typically pay a predetermined flat book rate which are rarely generous with time estimates for getting a job done. So, dealers don't like them for that reason but it's a guaranteed paycheck which they really like.
Recumpence
They get paid for warrantee work, but not for recalls. I was told this, specifically, when bringing my car in last week. Matt
nsteblay
Car manufacturers (and Ford) pay dealers for warranty and recall work whether they admit it or not. They're not doing for it free, I guarantee it. Noah Harbinger and obob

And then what would keep your tires up? roninsd

Our dealership is so busy we have to schedule an appointment for any type of service a week in advance minimum. homestead
Or changing the air in the tires. ;)I put fresh air in my tires every few months, that along with the ruby red color I figure buys me 2-3 MPG more. obob

If you REALLY want a performance boost, stick a NOS decal on the window. Edited August 27, 2013 by Noah Harbinger FoutsNC and obob
