fotomoto
More like shattered! Wife took the NRG to work and found this at the end of the day. No obvious signs of vandalism, temps in the low to mid 90's but parked in the shade of a tree in the afternoon. Found a similar thread by a "one post wonder" who never followed up with their experience: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3692-shattered-rear-passenger-window/ And to kick a fella' while he's down, fordparts.com says this small window costs $400 yet the entire windshield is only $322! :banghead: Edited July 2, 2014 by fotomoto
kostby
Was someone mowing near the parking area? (Sorry the pic is so much smaller. I'm almost out of allotted attachment space.)I see a potential point of impact, like a rock flung by a commercial mowing rig. Try Safelite auto glass.Even if your auto policy covers it as a Comprehensive claim, after deductible, you're probably still be on the hook for most, if not all of the cost. Edited July 2, 2014 by kostby hybridbear
timwil56
Just looking at that makes me sad, I can only imagine how you feel, we all know how you cherish your C-Max's. I agree with kostby, most likely a mower projectile, or a rock that was run over just right from the edge of a tire and went flying off. If someone was trying to break in, why that window, unless it was just malicious damage for no reason and that's sad too. I guess if there's an upside (which there really isn't), it didn't put a huge chip and dent in the paint.
wab
Check your insurance. We have glass breakage for a few $’s a year.A couple of weeks ago we chipped the windshield. Zero for us, $59 for the insurance co. But the insurance co has “a deal” with the repair shop and only paid $39.Both the repair shop AND our insurance say that it won’t show as a claim therefore no rate increase.Which pays for the “Glass Breakage” for last year, this year, next year… hybridbear
Adrian_L
Could have been a BB gun. There was an idiot who hit about 50 cars one night around our 'hood. My old Volvo's driver's window looked just like that before I replaced it with a piece of glass from a wrecking yard. obob
Something like that happened years ago to a truck my Dad had. Spontaneously just cracked up in the sun. As I recall the explanation had to do with it being tempered glass and tempered glass occasionally does that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spontaneous_glass_breakage Edited July 5, 2014 by obob

Ford is nuts. Makes me wonder what the cost is for the rear window? Was considering getting a new rear window (even though I don't need it) so I could get the rear window air deflectors now that I found out that is the only way to get them. That is a bummer. :( Once you set up an appointment at your dealer, send me a PM with your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info. I'll see how I can help. fotomoto
Update: Thanks to a top rate service advisor at my local dealership and our own Ashley :worship: that little side window glass in our CMax has been replace via warranty!!! :happy feet:  Took about a week for the glass to arrive and get installed plus a couple of service campaigns got taken care of during the wait. BTW, I checked with my local independent glass company and they confirmed there are no aftermarket companies making that item; only Ford. FYI. bro1999
Glad you got it fixed under warranty. My insurance company has optional glass coverage (something like $32 bucks a year). I pressed them, and they told me all windows were covered, including the sunroof. No deductible or anything. :) If that tiny little window is $400, I'm scared what the pano roof costs to replace OOP. :gaah: Good thing I won't ever have to find out.
