  1. Same here. The teens and older have their own vehicles. Now it's time for me to get what I want. I worried about going from Tahoe to "car" but it's just not a car feel. Shopping? Guess u fold the seats down or take a few extra trips. You can afford to with the mileage it gets.
  2. Laurel, you are too sweet. Thanks for asking. I love that car! Apparently I was mistaken. We have not settled on a price. :( I have also decided I do not want black interior! We are returning tuesday to haggle price. My dad and I are getting each a new car, we are shopping around for the best deal. And so the fun continues. I am sad to return the car but at the same time I am excited to get what I want. Now.....what color?????
  3. The saleswoman entered the specs we werelooking for and found some. I had to search inventory for each dealership on the Internet.
  4. It started with me wanting to look at the Nissan leaf. I tested one and asked my dad to come look at one with me. He loved the concept but not the reality. I wanted to downsize from a Tahoe. It's just me now as the teens have vehicles of their own. Why do I need that gas guzzler? Dad wanted a hybrid. He really wanted the Prius. I didn't like them. I was looking at crossovers and he suggested the cmax. My husband was a die hard Chevy man. He now loves his dodge truck. My dad loves his ford edge. Figured I would give ford a try.
  5. Oh. They told my dad 6-8 weeks. I keep telling him it will probably take longer. He says he is okay with that. We shall see.
  6. Thanks. I am having trouble sleeping. Buyers remorse? Excitement? BOTH?? We drove to Tx since our town and state (La) had no C-maxs. It's about 45 mins away. The sales lady was great. We are each getting the SEL loaded for the grand price of 28k each. I couldn't believe it. Mine is pearl white with black leather. It was the car on the lot and at that price i couldnt pass it up. Dad hasn't decided on his yet. I think he wants pearl with tan interior. He will drive the car on Monday while I am at work and we will go back on Tuesday to hammer out the fine details of the trade in of our vehicles etc. I love the car. Of all the cars we have looked at this one is the best at size, handling and comfort. The price is a bit steep for me since we never buy new. I am nervous about not having a spare for that kinda price. Thanks to this forum I knew what to look for and what to double check. The gadgets on the steering are a piece of cake. The auto open hatch, well... My dad can get it to open no problem! I still haven't mastered it! Hahahaha
  7. My dad and I loved the car. Loved it. I drove one home and he will order his. The seats are firm and sit high. Everything is within reach and well laid out. Visibility is great. The handling is Awesome. I cannot wait to make the Sunday morning run for donuts lol
  8. Congrats! I too am looking at the cmax. Keep us posted in the new car. How exciting.
  9. Yes yes! I feel the same about seats; another reason I am excited to test the cmax. I like my seats in my Tahoe. They sit up.
  10. Laurel is talking about a press to start ignition start. I think the lift back opens from a button on the lift back door or the button on the fob.
  11. Would love to see a region board so maybe groups could form and meet. I think on the main page you can mark all topics read. Well, on my phone I can mark them all read on the main page. Sorry!
  12. Hahahaha. Oh yes. I can relate to those golden yrs and preparing for them. I have tried a few vehicles and scratched them off the list due to it being hard to get in and out of them already. I drive a Tahoe currently and have to climb up in it. I am hoping the cmax is not too low. All the packages are crazy. This car just has these options. Oops. Not that option on this car. Sorry.
  13. Thanks. I have Been reading up on this car and will have lots of questions for the salesman and know what to pay attention to thanks to this forum.
  14. Tell me more.... I thought ev was any driving at speeds under 45 and above that it was all gas?
  15. Thanks for the details of your trip. I have been wondering how a car can get the same mpg between city and hwy. hybrids love in town driving. That's what they were made for. Most of my driving will be in town but knowing ahead of time what to expect on the hwy is nice. I have to agree with the box and added weight decreasing the mpg. Glad to hear you are still happy with the cmax. I would be thrilled at those numbers lol.
  16. Are there any tax credits available for hybrids?
  17. I currently drive a Tahoe. I am now researching to find the hybrid that best fits my family. I live outside city limits and take the back roads to work; fewer stops and starts in a gas vehicle is best. With the purchase of a hybrid, I am thinking driving thru town may be best-with the stopping and going being best for a hybrid. 40+ mpg on the hwy sounds awesome to me compared to my current vehicle. :)
  18. I think it's all in what u get use to. My dad has no problem using things if it's set up for him first. Give him the basics and he is good to go. When he masters that he is eager for a new feature. I love gadgets. I will be in hog heaven for the test ride. Off to explore YouTube some more! Thanks, everyone. I appreciate it.
  19. I test drive the CMax next weekend and I am researching things ahead of time so I can try them out during the test drive Yes, I like to be prepared. lol. I have watched countless YouTube vids and many buttons look overwhelming. How is the placement/feel of the buttons? Do they get confusing or do you quickly learn them by feel? What's the my touch? Is that touch screen? Can the same functions be completed on the steering wheel? Did you quickly get use to the additional info on the readout panel? I tested a Prius and had a hard time driving and watching the readouts because the information display was so foreign Thanks!
  20. Thanks for everyone's posts. I have enjoyed learning all I can from the posts and is much appreciated. My dad and I are looking into purchasing hybrids and forums like this help tremendously. Anyone give much thought to posting on YouTube from the owners viewpoint? I would love to see that. Car pros and dealers seem to say the same things. I want to hear/see the everyday person talking about their vehicle. We are test driving the CMax (me) and the Fusion (dad) next weekend. So glad I found this forum. I have more knowledge now!
