  1. We're at 106,xxx miles now. I don't guess we'd get much for a trade in, unfortunately.
  2. There are some parts of this car that I absolutely love. The transmission is smooth and responsive. There is a lot of available power when you need it. I think it handles pretty great for what it is. However, I haven't personally had a good time with most of the interior components. The MFT sucks, we have a ton of squeaks and rattles that the dealer was never able to fix. The vents don't have a wide range of mobility; you can't aim them to blow on your body, only your face. The visors are useless. The windows sound like an old wooden ship when the car flexes over bumps. And I hate you can't easily add backup camera, etc. I have a friend who has a 2011 Focus and has had a number of problem with his car that the dealer wasn't able to resolve, too. Overall, I'm thoroughly unimpressed with the car. It's a real shame because I was really enjoying it before we broke it in (We have ~93,xxx miles now). I was really hoping for better, but my next car will certainly not be a Ford. I'm totes jealous of all you that have had great experiences with yours.
  3. My car is 60k miles out of factory warranty, so I'm hoping that the extended warranty can cover this. I have an appointment for Monday.
  4. Hmm. Is there a way I can test this problem myself instead of having the dealer do it? I wonder if this is covered under the extended warranty?
  5. One of my AC lines froze up today on the way home from work. It's the line that goes from the compressor, up and over to the passenger side, then disappears under the coolant tank. Is this what this particular TSB is referring to?
  6. Oh I do, my wife and I commute 3 hrs a day so we listen to a lootttttt of podcasts. But hearing directions from the speakers only works if you're paired and the MFT is set to connect to the phone. It doesn't work if you're listening to the radio.
  7. I never got used to the Nav. Didn't like the input method and found it too hard to use. It's much easier to prop my phone up in the MFT display and say "OK Google, directions to 123 Main Street".
  8. Does it sound kind of like a bad wheel bearing? May be bad transmission. Take it to the dealer for insepction.
  9. Guess I should update this. Had my transmission replaced under warranty shortly after submitting this thread. Took extra long because they had to ship the transmission. After receipt, the dealership realized they needed a "special tool". So that took another week. Anyways, the new trans has been functioning perfectly with no issues. The downside is that the new trans only has a 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty. So if your trans is making noise, I suggest you wait as long as possible to get it replaced.
  10. Plus 3, that's a very in depth analysis. In my case, I do no stopping and all going. How does that play into things?
  11. I would have looked through the documentation I have, except it just happens to be in the shop. :)
  12. I haven't found a list of items that are considered a part of the hybrid system. Does there exist one?
  13. Except it covers all the other things that are actually outside of factory warranty period. *edit* Service is different than failure. I absolutely expect my transmission to last longer than 80,000 miles. And if it doesn't, well that's just a pile of shit.
  14. Is the transmission considered part if the hybrid system?
  15. What is the factory warranty? I thought it was 3/36?
  16. Sure, and you also drive about half as much as the average person in a year. I drive roughly three to four times as much. However, the factory warranty runs out regardless of your mileage and given how complex, unique and intensive a hybrid system is, if you are planning on keeping your car for a while then having an extended warranty isn't such a bad idea. In my case, I put approximately five years worth of mileage on my car in roughly two years.
  17. 2013 SEL with ~82,000 miles Estimated >85% interstate driving All recommended, regular maintenance performed on time Started hearing a noise between 55-60 mph that was a very loud whine while under power. Go over 60 and the noise all but disappeared, go under 55 and the noise was very faint. Soon thereafter, we experienced a noise that sounded like a bad wheel bearing. Noticed that it was not speed dependent, did not change sound on varying speed. Sound got much worse under power, especially while electric motor was running. Take the car in for diagnostics and they found a bad bearing in the transmission. Apparently the bearing was under engineered (too small, maybe) and prematurely wore out. Recommended Ford fix is installation of new transmission with re-engineered bearing and NOT to attempt to fix the damage in the broken transmission. I did not experience any transmission-related problems, however I believe that issues past the noise were imminent based on how fast the noise progressed. I did not receive any warning lights. I was advised that that issue occurs in only a certain batch of CMax's but I am unsure how to tell. It wouldn't surprise me if there comes a rash of faulty transmissions in all the cars that use these transmissions. You may want to go talk to your service adviser (maybe one of the advisers who frequent the forum can find out for us). Luckily, I have the Platinum extended warranty so there's no major cost to me. Based solely on the complexity of hybrid systems, I would definitely recommend everyone get an extended warranty.
  18. It's made this noise for a long time, but the car is roughly 50,000 miles outside of factory warranty. I did get the extended warranty though. I have not been to the dealer for this.
  19. What exactly would this sound like? It already sounds like hell when I start it up - sounds like a really loud buzzing-type sound. I have to cycle the AC button to get it to stop.
  20. Yeah, that's pretty apparent. It's a real shame that car companies have moved in that direction. Sure makes me less inclined to buy from them in the future.
  21. Yeah, we turn on the heated seats the night before we think we'll need them. The lack of proper post-factory installed extras is pretty disappointing.
  22. Considering it can be a safety hazard if you can't clear your windshield, I think they should have added it.
