  1. This! Break those wheels loose once in a while!
  2. Hmm It was just in the struts and tires. Would it expand less when changing altitudes?
  3. We used pure nitrogen in aviation maintenance, mainly to avoid oxidation I believe.
  4. Ooh that's rough. I thought almost everyone in NYC took taxis and the subway? lol
  5. 1) Pedal to the medal, ensure traction control is on to avoid wheel spin 2) ecocruise when you reach speed 3) coast when possible 4) apply brakes gently when necessary
  6. Yea that's very good considering the size of the vehicle.
  7. Hmmm. I need to figure out how to display the temperature.
  8. Sweet, it just started working again for me this morning
  9. lol ya. 2.4 mpg is not drastic by any means. it's just 2.06 gals/100 miles vs 2.17 gals/100 miles. no reason to freak out :kookie: unless i messed the math up, i'm soooo tired today...
  10. ya, she doesn't seem to like the cold very well. do you keep yours garaged at night?
  11. ouch, ya 35-37 was what i got on my first cross country trip pre-update. that was a shock but in the scheme of things isn't too bad. my 2003 lincoln aviator gets like 16 mpg highway, lol
  12. that's amazing! luckily most of my driving is city but i might have to look into those wheel covers next summer. i think part of that success is the temp has been perfect lately, i didn't need the heat or AC, just the fan on low. i'm still not certain how having the heat on affects mpg but it seems like it keeps the ICE on more.
  13. myself, my wife, and a larger than average baby, with barely any luggage. generally i'd expect closer to 40 mpg for that trip, that's why i was so surprised.
  14. i did just manage to get a 26.7 MPG on a short trip where i almost always get 50 mpg, LOL but i did get to the front of the pack for all 3 of stop lights and buried the pedal each time (i had previously dropped off the family to go get some brews) **drive it like you stole it crew**
  15. I just got back from Denver and was pleasantly surprised again by my Cmax. Either my engine is just fully broken in or I must have had a tail wind both ways: This is round trip, and the starting and mid point are both about a mile from the interstate. Most of the way the speed limit is 75 MPH but we were going 50-60 MPH at times due to traffic. I didn't baby the car, and accelerated at 2-3 bars generally, but I do toggle eco-cruise on/off frequently, and avoid braking suddenly. Other than that I go 3-5 MPH over the speed limit to stay with the flow of traffic. Colorado Springs (starting/end point) elevation is listed at 6,010 ft while Denver (mid point) is listed at 5,130–5,690 ft, but the route has rolling hills.
  16. lol nice! once in a while i can get 50-60 mpg for a round trip, but rarely do i both have the patience and the need to go on a route that would support that.
  17. huh... oh well. i also tried selecting 'request desktop site.' and i just got a mophie juice pack to double the battery life on my HTC One. if only they made a battery pack for the Cmax hybrid! :gaah:
  18. roughly a little less than the first half was interstate at 65-70 mph, was at 35 mpg when i turned around to head home. milked it down side roads on the way home, probably not worth the extra time but the baby was napping peacefully in the back anyways.
  19. for the last week or so this site hasn't loaded on my phone--HTC One, stock, using chrome browser. i tried clearing the cache/cookies, but no luck. any one else having issues with the mobile site? any fix?
  20. i relish being next to a prius at a red light because i'm always sure to demonstrate the superior speed of my CMAX. actually, i like being stopped next to any car at a red light :D
  21. generally i'll just accelerate fast, then kick in the ecocruise when i get to the speed limit. if there is no traffic to impede i'll coast when i can and brake gradually, so that helps offset pushing the ICE hard on take off i guess.
  22. Probably about 42.5 mpg. I drive like a fool half the time (most the time) and that's my average :D
  23. I've seen only a few around here. I actually parked next to one once, didn't see the driver though. One day I passed one on the way home, was an old lady driving lol Over the summer I took my Maxine to my little corner of Michigan, didn't see a single other one in over 3,000 miles of driving.
  24. I never noticed that myview climate and other bar. Is that new??
