  1. "215-horsepower, five-cylinder turbodiesel" "This Volvo is quick, sprinting to 62 mph in as little as 6.1 seconds in 'Power' mode (maximum engine and electric outputs combined), with a top speed of 143 mph. Electric-only top speed is 78 mph." Very interesting!!
  2. Video games, movies, weight lifting when I can. Other than that a lot of my time is taken up by Army work and family.
  3. She's a special car and has special needs.
  4. Well the new highway rating is 40 after all. Even 35-39 mpg at interstate speeds is good for the size of the car. I just expected highway driving with the cruise control on would yield the best mileage with no effort on my part but that's just not the case with the cmax.
  5. 37 mpg is what I'd expect going 80+ mph with ac and a load in rain. I find I get about 42 mpg just driving how I drive city, and can only consistently get over 47 mpg city if I consciously try. (Not complaining)
  6. Considering I averaged a tad under 40 mpg on a 60ish mile trip on the interstate at mostly 77 mph (with ac), I doubt my life time average will ever exceed 43. I was happy to see ~40 mpg though, before the update it would have been just ~37 mpg.
  7. Ugh. Battery died again. No apparent reason this time. I would like a feature where my car would start off of the large battery. Plus a key hole on the hatch. And mechanical lock latches on the rear doors.
  8. I'd probably have to drive solo at under forty miles per hour to get 50 mpg for 50 miles
  9. I read it as trips where 50 mpg it's achieved. Fifty miles at fifty mpg is something impressive though. Imo
  10. i'd be a little concerned about the clearance in the snow up there. (i'm from MI too, down by the pinky tip area)
  11. Yea so it'd be easy to kill the battery. It's pretty sad that a low end car from '95 has a better feature then a '13.
  12. Nice. But LA is one of those places I'm scared to visit. Too many people.
  13. ~38.5 2,800 miles @ 70-80 pre-update killed that average. It's been going up. Disregarding that trip it's still only about 43.1. 8,000 ish total miles.
  14. Did they update so the headlights turn off when the key is off? I was shocked that they didn't turn off automatically before. My 1995 Subaru has that feature, FFS
  15. ^ In Denver! I was like... Is that.... A Tesla!!? It was soooo pretty. But for that price I guess it'd better be.
  16. i was looking forward to seeing how i did on the interstate yesterday but there was so much traffic i couldn't get an accurate reading. it was about 44 mpg on the way up to denver and about 41 on the way back with. the return trip there was a lot of stop time with the AC blasting, but overall i was happy. with the changes i'd expect at least 39 mpg at a constant 75-80 mph. maybe a few more since my engine should be fully broken in now.
  17. Thanks! I just wanted to do it at least once. For this next tank of gas in just going to enjoy my car, use my ac, and drive how I feel like. Maybe in the fall I'll get 600+ again. No way I'd have the patience or skill to break 700! That's crazy.
  18. w00t!! I went for a joy ride for the last ten miles just to finish it off
  19. 500 miles divided by 13 gallons of fuel equals 38.4615384615 mpg. Only time I've gotten worse than that was pre update going 70-80 mph across country.
  20. when you ran out of gas did you have any problems starting the engine again?
  21. ah, darn. well it does seem like the miles to empty have been decreasing more than the actual miles traveled. a few pics showed that people used 12.9 gallons. what's the most gas you all would recommend burning? if the weather was slightly cooler I would have used the AC slightly less the last few days, but when it is high 80s I just can't manage.
