grinding coming from the front end
mnrobitaille replied to mnrobitaille's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Park Assist & Suspension
When you're towing behind your motorhome, do you tow with wheels down on the road or on a flatbed? The towing companies around me will not tow any hybrid unless it's on a flatbed. -
grinding coming from the front end
mnrobitaille replied to mnrobitaille's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Park Assist & Suspension
The CMax was towed into our local dealership, & they did a bonnet to boot inspection with nothing being found. They also did a rechecked the Under Carriage Shield thoroughly & noticed it was just not secured properly. -
Went to get mail this morning & when pulling out of the driveway, started hearing some grinding coming from the front end. The grinding happened when both going forward & reverse, any idea what could be causing the grinding? On another note, the Under Carriage Shield had some damage done to it & is not in top condition. Waiting for a replacement to come in.

Samsung Galaxy phones + Sync =?
mnrobitaille replied to fotomoto's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Whenever I get the prompts that I have a new message, I just hit ignore & wait until at destination to check. Only thing, I'll do while driving is answer phone calls & keep the conversation as short as possible. -
LMAO A C-Max next to a Prius

How much was it to swap the Shark Fin Antenna with the OEM Antenna? I know there are several C-Max in my region as the dealership we got Neytiri from has sold several, however sighting another C-Max is few & far between (lucky to see 1-2 in a month).

Our primary issue with the rear lift gate is it not closing all the way automatically. We have to push it down manually to close securely.

Samsung Galaxy phones + Sync =?
mnrobitaille replied to fotomoto's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
As an additional add-on to my last message, I now have a Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 which is paired to my Galaxy S4 via Bluetooth, & when in Neytiri the phone is paired to both at the same time. I have had no issues using either. When I use the Galaxy Gear 2 to place a phone call, the MFT display still shows Privacy Miode so car audio is muted. -

We received the 2nd check today. It arrived via Priority Mail for us. With three different drivers (3 different driving styles), we're averaging just about 37 MPG. Some of the $475 is going towards the purchase/install of a new Undercarriage shield for Neytiri. We've had her since September 28, 2012 & currently have 64,712.7 miles on the odometer. -

I have a Galaxy S4 & have had no issues with anything. -
Anyone having problems with their seat belts being too tight or pinching the neck? You can get seat belt extenders for no charge through your local Ford dealership's parts counter.

C-MAX in the snow?
mnrobitaille replied to jamouton's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Park Assist & Suspension
I've driven the C-Max a couple of times in snow & have had no issues at all. It's just using common sense & knowing your own capabilities as well as the capabilities of the vehicle you're in when it comes to driving on snow/ice. -
We found a good use for this compartment: wine/champagne/alcohol bottles.

A perfect example of both the above posts would be yesterday. My wife & I were walking around the Rose Quarter (Portland, OR) waiting to attend the 3 P.M. Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert & when crossing streets which had pedestrian control signals, we stopped & waited for the light to change. Almost all others (pedestrians, skateboarders, & bicyclists) just walked/rode right through as if there was no signal present. When crossing at intersections where there was no signal, we stopped, looked for traffic then crossed when we saw it was clear, yet others just crossed without caring. After the concert on our way to catch Tri-Met we saw the same things happening (it was dark out then & people didn't seem to care if they got hit or not).

Unfortunately we have a back-up alarm we installed & people still walk behind us with it sounding off. I say that since we have the back-up alarm installed, we should no longer be held liable for running into people walking behind us while backing up. My general procedure when backing up is hazards flashing, 2 beeps of the horn, & the back-up alarm, sounding off...even with doing all that people don't seem to care/notice. Concerning pedestrians in front of the car, the regulation needs to be changed to "pedestrians only have the right-of-way if they stop & check for vehicles before crossing". I had an incident in one of the local Walmarts where I was next to a family with small children who were not paying attention to anything around them & they started to cross right in front of me, I hit the horn as a warning, & the mother yelled that "pedestrians have the right-of-way", even though they started crossing almost right in front me & didn't even look to see if the coast was clear.

After 2+ months of waiting, our new plates finally arrived for Neytiri. I'll see what I can do to get a picture of them for posting.

On the Michelins we got 38,000 miles on them. For the Toyo Ultra Z900 we went with as listed for manufacturer recommendation for size.
-
The tires we went with are: Toyo Ultra Z900 from Les Schwab. So far we've noticed better handling compared to the Michelin tires Neytiri came with. MPG rating is comparable with the Michelin tires.
-
Am curious, especially after getting getting new tires, but in your experience what are the best tires available for the C-Max? Why do you feel that way & what proof is available those tires are the best?

If you see another CMax, do you observe how they drive?
mnrobitaille replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
When we see another C-Max out there, we normally just wave. Only once or twice have we been able to talk to other C-Max drivers/owners. -
No the unit on top is the light bar LMAO :lol2:

Every College/University with a police force needs to think about doing this. How about the C-Max being used for Mall Security?? It's a regular C-Max Hybrid, as the plug-in port is not present there on the drivers' side.
