  1. I've not experienced your phone issue but have had a couple "scheduled maintenance" showings. Good luck.
  2. I also chose a CMax over another Prius. The turning radius is a bit higher, but its other great features make up for this. The extra umph is noticeable and though I loved the smooth ride of my Prius, I was amazed that the C-Max's is even smoother.
  3. Ye, Laurel, I forgot to mention one of my major wishes-lights on the gear shift console
  4. My desires are few and were included in a previous post: adjustable passenger seat, less sluggish Touch screen, no warning when headlights aren't on. One day I was driving in rain with wipers on and noticed the lights weren't. Shouldn't that be standard on all cars? Could add other things but this car far surpasses my previous ones in every way except mpg.
  5. Andrew, your average is battery failure about once for every 100 miles. Something is amiss.
  6. Happened twice to me a few weeks after purchase.
  7. Andrewwx, how is your blood pressure? Please send us some good news soon
  8. My current tank is 23mpg. Very cold, heater blaring, 10 minute remote start warmup in the morning, 2 mile driving destination. Oh well, lower than previous Toyota hybrid, but as the article states, other features compensate for me. CMax buyers be informed, however.
  9. Best of luck to all of you with battery and/or electrical issues. I am grateful everyday that my car has not repeated some reverse and MFT glitches. You all seem very reasonable and patient.
  10. My 2 previous cars were the yuck Priuses (just kidding Catmobile), and I loved them. But I was ready for a change and followed the release date info for the CMax for months. Mileage was a small factor. It has a lot to offer and I chose one with many options. I did get a very good resale on my 2007 Prius.
  11. Finally looked up what MyKey is. Clever system. My car is what some term Smart Start-no place for inserting the key but the fob needs to be close by when pushing button. Makes sense that remote starts differ. Oh, remote doesn't chirp but 2 red bulbs come on as the horn chirps and headlights come on.
  12. Do your remote starts beep twice as the lights come on? My technician specifically emphasized that he set the car to keep the lights on and car running when the doors open. I asked about this because my husband's dealer installed remote on his Honda, turns the car off when entering (perhaps a security reason?). The tech said husband's car was connected wrong. Seems there's no one way to install these. Also, I must do a car search for this little antenna. So far I can't see one in my interior
  13. My current mpg on this tank is 27.5 (Ahh, I can hear the exclamations coming from most of you.) However, I make short trips, the temp is in single digits here, and I have a remote start to eat up gas and mileage these days. Why did I purchase a hybrid again as I never achieved more than a 42 mpg average with my Prius? Because the CMax appealed to me for its options, style, value, and it is a hybrid for the environmentally conscious. And overall, for me, the advertised mpg was not that important. I do agree that Ford should be made aware that their promotion of a fabulous mpg may need revision. My salesman did ask what I was getting, so at least the dealership is aware of my experience.
  14. I posted before that for the years I had my Priuses my driving consisted of very short mileage-2 to 3 miles at most. I can't believe that a warning for CMax hybrid owners should be "don't buy if you make short trips and have a portable charger just in case." I'm not trying to make light of the 12 volt issue in any way, merely stating that the problem exists somewhere else, perhaps that relay switch, and needs to be resolved.
  15. My husband and I just returned from an 8 day vacation. My CMax was outside in Chicago weather-not freezing but cold-for the whole time and started up immediately with remote start. Major hurdle accomplished as all the reports of 12 volt problems had me worried. I'm very relieved and thought some of you posters might appreciate a positive report.
  16. Sorry for the injury. It might help to add that my car's lift gate height was preset to my shorty stature at purchase. My husband has had to be very careful not to bang his head when helping with groceries.
  17. I wrote out my service requirements on my first visit. Included were phone and clock issues as well as MFT glitches. All were noted in my receipt and my file-I assume.
  18. Congrats and good luck. I agree with your styling and "real car" points.
  19. Short routes, heater in this cold weather, and now a new remote start--mpg on this tank is 27.9. I'm not stressing as my hybrids do lousy in winter. I even considered going non hybrid this time around but the CMax had a lot of attractive options as well as clean emissions.
  20. I've had 2 Priuses and put on very little mileage because of short trips (2007 with only 35,000 miles at trade in for CMax), and no battery issues-even after leaving it at the airport in dead of winter for 14 days. I certainly hope My CMax behaves as reliably with its 12 volt.
  21. Just returned home with remote start for SEL. It's not bi-directional, though a red light shows when the button is depressed. The technician said he made sure the lights stay on when activated. Because it's a hybrid, he said to expect a quiet entry to the car and that applying the brake does turn off the car before restarting it again. Opening the door doesn't turn off the system. So far so good. This technician said he's not seen any problems with CMax and remote starts. Still learning on my part. Price was $399 plus taxes and some "hazardous disposal" fee of $19.95. I know that's often added after oil change but don't understand in this case. I didn't feel like challenging tonight, though.
  22. I'm also going in tomorrow for a remote start. Last week I had my SEL in for this accessory only to be told at 5:00 pm that a different part was required for the SEL. I was told the technician is very good and has no problems with the remote. Crossing my fingers that all goes smoothly this time around. Price quoted is $ 399 for single directional.
  23. I've had 2 clock problems and reported this in writing to service dept. yesterday along with some phone sync issues and reverse problems discussed in other threads. They did a Sync update. At least it's documented for me in case it happens again.
