  1. My morning laugh. Enjoyed your post. I feel warm at the 2 setting in winter here. Can't imagine a 5.
  2. My update including the Liftgate took under 3 hours. Even the Service Manager was surprised. I was told my "car behaved well". Apparently no predictability to how this update will go. I'm sorry for those of you who are waiting days.
  3. Good luck all of you. What a worry that I hope is alleviated soon and satisfactorily.
  4. I had these same intermittent problems until the update. Now one kick and trunk consistently opens. Fob works well too.
  5. I'm having problems with my Nav after the update. Numbers disappear and I can only input destination through Sync. Liftgate works perfectly. I'm not anxious to go back for an update to the update.
  6. Thanks for your response. Beware what you wish for. I never had Nav problems prior to update.
  7. Well, I just returned from Service. It only took 3 hours to have both software updates installed. (Phone/Nav and Liftgate). The MFT screen now shows outdoor temp in large letters next to the clock. Nice. The Homescreen has a small icon at the bottom-small leaf it seems-which will indicate an energy flow screen. Nice but not essential. No surprise that all my Favorites in Navigation have to be reprogrammed. But I couldn't complete HOME as it wouldn't allow me to insert street number. The number screen was blank. So I had to go to Sync-not good. I haven't tried the system so that remains an unknown and hopefully I won't have any further problems with the phone connectivity nor Liftgate. ( Haven't tried #of kicks yet). I'd be interested to know if anyone who has had updates has experienced something similar. )
  8. Going tomorrow morning for the phone/ radio/Nav/Liftgate updates. Anxious to see the changes. My letter indicates "Outside air temperature display on the 8 inch touchscreen" and "new EV info button on Home screen that will take you to a Powerflow Screen that shows energy flow information ". As to the latter, thie energy screen was a novelty on my Prius but didn't serve a real function. You techies may enjoy it.
  9. Excuse the repetition, but after owning 2 Priuses and now a CMax in unpredictable Illinois, my 40+ tanks are rare. Winter mpg's on all three cars ranged 30 or below. My last tank with spring arriving (??) was a whopping 41. I'm a happy camper. Hybrids are so variable and I've learned to appreciate other attributes. Loved the Priuses but no doubt the ride of the CMax is much smoother. Every passenger and driver of my new car comment on its superiority in this area. One day, under optimal conditions, I'll hit that 47 mpg, but if I don't, no matter. Just my two cents worth.
  10. Just received 2 TSB notices: one for MyFord Touch phone and Nav issues and the other for the Liftgate which had been rather quirky lately. I'm relieved to actually have these problems addressed and thank this forum for informing and preparing me for the updates. Appt. set for next Tues.
  11. Very interesting. I have a new IPhone 5 and my emoticons transferred with contacts. For some very strange reason 600 characters downloaded with my contacts and the only way to delete them was one at a time!! I did this before reading the previous post about phone connectivity relating to emoticons. No scientific study, but I haven't experienced any lost phone connection since.
  12. We did NCL which we enjoy. Did a Mediterranean with them too which was also terrific. Princess is more upscale and more expensive I hear. Couldn't get a pic because the cab zipped by as I spotted it. Caught the CMax word but couldn't be sure of the word "hybrid" and wondered about that. I must admit that we saw countless Priuses too. And many Honda CRV's. Our guide in Estonia said that after separating from the Soviet Union people wanted larger cars since new opportunities were open to them. After a trip to London he was surprised to see smaller ones which are much more practical with fuel costs in Europe hitting $1.50 a liter.
  13. We just returned from a Baltic cruise departing from Copenhagen. Very first car I notice is a white CMax followed by many other Ford brands. The same for Berlin. Once we sailed on to the more northern countries they became fewer, though a variety of familiar cars we have here. Interesting observation in St. Petersburg Russia. After the breakup of the Soviet Union, citizens wanted to rid themselves of those ugly "Soviet" cars and go big. We saw fewer mini cars than we'd expected butno vans to speak of. And after 12 days away, my car started up immediately!!!
  14. Any such system for IPhone? Mine disconnects frequently-often after reverse.
  15. My situation was as a preventative measure as my car was built before Feb 2013. I guess 24 hours in my case ( waiting for valve to come in) may not be that far off. Is battery drain part of the process for cars not showing a dead battery?? I have no tech savvy.
  16. Tom and others who had the TSB performed-whether for battery problem or as a preventative measure- how long did the process take? I ask because yesterday I took my car in because of the "check engine light" and asked that the 12 volt TSB be performed as well. Picked it up today. Purge valve replaced and receipt indicates "TSB for 12 volt checked per customer request". The service manager assured me it was done but to me the word "checked" is ambiguous. How can I know for sure? Thanks. I used this forum to suggest to Service that the valve could be the culprit and to request the TSB.
  17. No dead battery here but in January I left my car at the airport for 8 days. No problem starting. Ten days from now CMax will be left alone for 11 days this time around. Crossing my fingers and hoping I won't be one of the 30 or so posters with battery issues.
  18. Mine is IPhone 4. Will go to Sync and see what I can do. When these connections started months ago the dealer told me they did a software update, but work receipt didn't specify what kind.
  19. Good luck. You must be extremely frustrated. I'm impressed with your technical knowledge.
  20. Mine was either asleep or very sick 2 days ago. Kicks wouldn't work at all after 6 months of consistency. Then on my return trip home-perfection.
  21. Thanks also, Adair. I'll look forward to reading your helpful advice.
  22. Anyone else experience this phone issue? I start the car and MFT shows that my IPhone has connected. Then within seconds the screen advises me to connect a phone. I do so either by Sync or manually. This tends to happen as I begin moving, often in reverse but not always. Occurs approximately 2 times a week and is a separate issue than times phone never connects.
  23. I now will not go into reverse until my MFT screen AND Ready to Drive are both on. Otherwise The reverse problem occurs.
