I've seen something similar to what you describe. My car was in yesterday for a 1000 mile oil change-gratis to just see that all is going well. I brought up a few glitches including dark screen with the systems check reading, a couple clock resets, and several occasions of phone not connecting. I was told a Sync update was performed and am picking up my car now. Remote start ordered for next week.

Shall we laugh or cry? What's your future with the CMax?

With my Prius the car's keyless entry unlocked the car whenever I grabbed the handle and locked similarity. It took me a couple weeks to realize that touching the black circle is the only way to lock the C Max with the keyless entry. If I used my entire hand, I never heard that click. Neither car will lock with the fob left inside.

Can you post how your final remote installation turned out and how the system is working. My date is the 27th and I was told it would take a day and I'd get a loaner.

I could have posted the same. My 2007 Prius showed 30mpg ( or less) in very cold weather with heater blasting. Increasing speeds to above 65 showed a marked drop in mpg too. And even driving into the wind reduced mileage. Whatever I get in my C Max won't disappoint.

Thank you, your info is very helpful. I've had hybrids before, so I know to depress the brake when starting, but wonder whether the time depressed might even be a factor.

Can you describe what you call "a small old fashioned Microsoft window"? If we're talking about an identical experience (twice for me), why is it happening?

Mine had wrong time last week. One time incident after 2 months ownership and 850 miles.

I had the same experience with the screen and realize that the rear camera is somehow related to the car's overall functioning. My car also has run it's own "Check System" till car resumes normalcy. Reported this to my salesman and will have it checked out after Christmas.

It has occurred unpredictably. Hope I won't have to take that pic.

Has anyone experienced this: car will not move into ready mode upon push button start and touchscreen remains dark. Upon restart, a message comes on the screen (in place of Ford icon) which shows the words System Check. Then a line moves across the screen much like I've seen on my IPad when a game is preparing to initiate. Soon all is back to normal. This has occurred 3 times--if I remember correctly, not after an overnight period and not related to my reverse car lags. I phoned my salesman to set up an appt. for initial oil change and remote start installation. He said he hadn't heard of this happening but would have it checked out. Can any of you tech savvy owners help out? I'm rather sure I started the car correctly. I've owned 2 Priuses without similar incidents.

I've also decided to forego panic in favor of patience.

I have short trips to work, so on cold mornings I heat the seat on 1 and don't worry about Auto Climate taking effect just as I arrive at my destination. And I'm female in case you guys are making other assumptions.

Hmm, I was told by medical personnel that normal glass allows UV light. Appreciate the suggestion for added film.

My daughter refuses to buy or wear leather. Interestingly, she's moved from strictly vegetarian to eating occasional free range meats from humanely treated animals. I love my leather interior CMax but totally appreciate others' values. As a side note, I wanted the leather but not the sunroof as I've dealt with melanomas. Couldn't have one without the other, ( except perhaps factory ordered?)so that sunroof will probably never be used.

My last 3 cars were hot red and I was prepared to get this one in a bright red too. The Ruby Red looked great in the sun but not so sharp on the cloudy day I test drove the Pearl White. When my dealer offered me a decent deal to buy the white (a first for me), I didn't hesitate. With the black elements and stone leather seats, it's a very smart looking car. I couldn't believe a reviewer's comment in our Tribune that the new C Max's style was "dowdy"!!! Pox on him.

Same for me. With Fob, never a problem. I can live with this. The power lift gate has been more useful than I'd thought.

CMax drives even smoother than Prius with more umphh.

With my Priuses, achieving 45mpg was rare but zero problems with either. I came to appreciate a hybrid for its cleaner emissions and chose the C Max for several reasons apart from mileage- though gas savings have been a real plus. Another was to support Ford--my first. So far I'm pleased. Crossing fingers that glitches are gone and I'll rarely need to visit the Service department.

Check out a secret compartment under the rear seat (driver's side) floor mat. It's in my SEL and I assumed in all C Maxes. I haven't used it yet but it fits a wallet, IPad etc.

The acceleration issue did not come up on Prius forums the first month of its release but years later. I owned a 2005 which went to my daughter when I purchased my 2007. In 2011 there was a recall to adjust front floor mats which supposedly caused the acceleration.
