  1. A factor not addressed here is weather conditions, especially heater use , which always affected my mpg with my Prius. On cold days with short drives, it was not unusual for me to get 27-29 mpg over most of the winter months. In spring without AC and on longer routes at 55mph I could be close to 47. However, averaging those conditions over a few months, I got used to less than thrilling mpgs. I was ok with this. Loved the Prius but was ready for a CMax with great options and a new style. The mileage I'm getting now is low 30's under similar driving conditions and heater use nearly every day lately. Because of a larger gas tank, I can get more miles before refilling.
  2. Thanks for the report. Good luck.
  3. I also never noticed a steering problem. Am starting to think it just may be a need to wait until the car is ready to reverse. I'll definitely bring this up with service dept.
  4. Experienced this reverse issue again after going into N without intending to. I decided to wait a few seconds and all was well. A Ford Hybrid Escape owner commented that this happened to her a couple of years ago. She waited 5 seconds and was able to reverse. Just hope it's a function of hybrid engine together with gas that causes some glitch and that it doesn't worsen.
  5. You have my complete sympathy. Considering only a limited number of CMax sales here and very few posters, it feels like above average serious problems. Didn't see this on my Prius forum. Good luck
  6. I really appreciate your remarkably complete report. Bravo on how you dealt with such an unnerving problem.
  7. I could have been reading the Toyota Prius forum board here. After owning 2 Priuses and being very satisfied , I was ready for a change with the new C Max-very stylish with great options. With the Prius I experienced that with very short drives-less than 2 miles- my mileage was terrible. Especially in cold weather with the heater on. With hot weather and air on, a bit better. Driving 70 or above with fast accelerations to pass made my mileage average under 40. So far with the C Max my average is low 30's under these same conditions. No stress, though, as my driving needs aren't typical. My daughter bought my first Prius and hit high 40's nearing 50 consistently with her longer drives at 50mph. I used to worry about mpg. On the Prius board members had a club on who could show the highest mpg and go the farthest on a tank. (Several wrote of running out of gas to achieve the highest mileage before a refill. Some even requiring help to add a gallon while stranded).
  8. Yes. Currie Motors Frankfort Il. Rated very high for customer satisfaction. My first Ford car, however.
  9. My dealer wants customers to come in at 1000 miles for a free oil change. Not sure if it's for just C Max but think to initiate positive customer relations. Seems a perfect opportunity to bring up this matter and some Periodic Sync issues.
  10. I am due for a 1000 mile oil change within a few weeks. I will bring this issue up--maybe sooner if it persists.
  11. I've experienced this twice. Both times after starting new C Max and trying to reverse. Once was after an overnight sitting-the second today after an hour. The car finally lurched strongly in reverse which required sudden braking. Wondering if I need to wait longer in Ready Mode. My Prius occasionally lurched forward but never had reverse issues. Strange feeling to press the gas and have no reverse movement whatsoever. Has there been any response from dealers?
