From the album: 2013 C-Max
Rear passenger side air deflector bag Part# -
Just checked voltage in ETM and it reads .5volts less than my plugin voltmeter which I verified with hand held voltmeter. So in ACC.position 12.5v/13v and on position 14.2v/14.7v also just opening the car door I had 12v on voltmeter so I guess 11.5v on ETM. Not sure what to make of it, but it has been working since day one. :) Paul

I think it has been this way since New. I posted these voltages when the CMAX was only few month after getting the car. It would be nice if everyone would check their voltages before starting the car and after to get a range to look at. :) I would think the car's computers would operate down to 10v anyway. IMO Paul

Well my dealer got the passenger side rear air dam, but not the drivers side. ;) It is the right part so hopefully they will get the other one next week. :yahoo: Paul -
I got plug in battery meter today and tested it out in power point. I had been driving around the city and checked my mail box and there it was so batteries charged up and reading 14.7vdc, seems kinda high so I tried out my hand held Voltmeter and was reading the same. Then I checked my 12v battery and it was reading the same, no voltage drop. Turned car off and was reading 12.7vdc, later I will check it when I open the door. :) Checked voltage several hours later and it had dropped to 12.1vdc. Paul

Interesting, what Life Time score are you getting now? You should be getting at most 4mpg less than Prius if you are driving it like you were driving Your Prius. BTW I have been on a long trip in the backseat of a Prius and it was terrible, very uncomfortable after the first hour. My Life Time score is 47mpg with 80%HWY and 77Kmi. on the odometer. The bottom line is you drive to get the MPG's you want to get. My Daughter's best MPG's in her Prius is 62 vs My CMAX at 65.4 a couple of times. :) Paul

I still think adding another battery would solve the problem for the most part and it is a simple solution. :) Paul
-
It sure would be nice if someone try out this potential solution to see if would solve the problem. Preferably someone that is having Dead Battery often so we would get results soon. IMHO :) Paul
-
I had one until it broke and left it plugged in power point by shift handle. only stays on for 10min. or so. Never had any dead battery problems. :) Paul
-
I believe 2013 CMAX had 3yr/36Kmi. on car parts and 8yr/100Kmi. on Hybrid Parts. I would think Battery and tires are prorated. You might get lucky with the 12v battery if some other car part caused it to fail. :) Paul
-
Why don't you try my solution of an additional 12v battery Posted earlier? Were you able to jump start the car every time? If so I think my solution will work for you. :) Paul
-
I'm happy I didn't have to do anything to get my checks, they just showed up. And my Life Time MPG average is 47mpg, what a deal! :yahoo: Paul

2014 C-Max Hybrid commercial in the dessert
ptjones replied to salsaguy's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I did some checking and about 20% of my fillups were less than 540mi. and probably half of those were done before the tank was low. :) Paul -
This survey is very bias towards people with dead battery problems and I'm sure the real percentage is 5-10% at most. With only 68 people responding to survey and there are a few thousand people signed up for this Forum, this survey is useless. The only people that have voted are ones interested in the issue. IMHO :) Paul

Nice job Kostby, looks like you did it like I did. I would keep hood closed, because I think it will stay hotter. IMO With Scan Gauge I see 20*F difference between WT-Intake air temp and Outside temp. I'm guessing Oil Pan Temp is 20*F warmer than WT. The best solution for the extension cord would be to tie it to something that is going to be in straight line to the plug so when you pull out it will pull out of plug on the car. I still need to do this. LOL I plug mine in at nite before I go to bed, 125watts isn't much electricity. :) Paul
-
That's a lot of work, still like LEXAN Gril Cover, you can hardly tell it's there when it's new. IMHO MPG's is what I bought the CMAX for and I'm Loving it. :yahoo: BTW I get people looking at my aero mods all the time. LOL Paul
-
I use mine as a work car so I'm more interested in MPG's. I hate it when my MPG's go down, Like I'm not doing a good job hypermiling. Could use clear saran wrap over cover and replace it periodically I suppose. :) Paul

It is just another good reason to add another battery like I have in my thread "Possible Solution for Dead Battery Problem" if you are having dead battery problems. IMO :) Paul
