  1. CarpeNivem what happened to your Michelin's and how did they compare to the EcoPlus tire? As mentioned before I got 65K mi. on original Michelin's and drove them in all kinds of bad weather. The MPG's are very good too. :) Paul
  2. You could connect it to a low amperage charger every nite and you would never have a dead 12v battery unless it just fails. For me I have a Jumper Battery, battery charger and mine has never died on it's own. So the long and short of it is this is not a problem for me. IMO :) Paul
  3. To be far it has only been a year and a half since we have known about 12v dead batt. problem and FORD has come up with a number of fixes for some of the problems. I believe that some of the dead 12v batt. are owner caused because I have done it once. Little hard for FORD to solve that one. IMO :) Paul
  4. It would seem you have your bases covered if you have a jumper battery. I hope you took it to the FORD Dealer to have them look at it. FORD will eventually get all the 12v battery problems solved. :) Paul
  5. That is wild, it will be interesting to see what they come up with. :) Paul
  6. I got 65K from my Michelin's and I think they handle plenty good enough for me. Have 10K on the new ones now and wouldn't give up MPG's for anything else. IMHO :) Paul
  7. I don't think the 12v batteries are fully charged from FORD so I think the salesman is probably right. Driving cars around the block is not going to give enough time to charge a 12v battery. :) Paul
  8. How fast were you giong? :) Paul
  9. Both years are basical idenical, go with used 2013 SEL if it's repair history is good, :) Paul
  10. Can you carry your stuff around in a Volt? CMAX is roomier. :) Paul
  11. If you are serious about solving your 12v problem, add the additional 12v like I have pictured in my thread"Possible solution for Dead 12v Battery". I believe the additional half again battery capacity will solve the problem, the factory battery is to small to have any significant draw on it. Please send pics of the installation so other members can do the same install. You will be doing a great service to others having the same problem. IMHO :) Paul
  12. I have 98% with 76Kmiles and it is because of 82% HWY. :) Paul
  13. That is excellent MPG's I don't know why you want to trade it in. IMO I can't see how you could make up the difference in cost of getting a NRG. :) Paul
  14. Matt I'm confused, I thought you were getting 50+mpg. Did you ever put your Grill Cover Mods back on the car? I thought your trips were to long to make a NRG efficient enough, but if you can good deal trading in the Hybrid it might work. IMO :) Paul
  15. Did you install a Grill Cover? Oil pan heater will improve short trips mpg's Tire psi 50? :) Paul
  16. 130 Fill ups and I'm up to 46 MPG Fuelly average. It just keeps getting better! Paul
  17. Max Power you might look at my "Possible solution for Dead 12v Battery" thread. It would be nice if someone with 12v battery problems tried this out to see if it wouldn't solve the problem. IMO :) Paul
  18. Used the Wolverine Model 9 125watt oil pan heater(2hrs before starting) and 5mpg over not using it for short 2.4mi. trip to work I see a 13-14*F rise in WT temp over ambient temp . :) Paul
  19. I think the reason for this is there aren't very many CMAX's on Dealers lots. Sales won't improve until FORD starts delivering 2015 CMAX's. :) Paul
  20. That's funny, I thought the best way to Dog proof your CMAX was to not let a Dog get in. LOL :drop:  :puppy_kiss: :lol2: Paul
  21. I'm thinking pressure is worth about 1mpg improvement well worth doing. :) Paul
  22. If you wanted to cut down on emissions you wouldn't allow EV in HOV lanes at all. It would be for ICE vehicles only figuring they would be less polluting if they weren't stopping and EV get better MPG's in stop and go traffic. LOL :drop:  :lol2: :shift: Paul
  23. We need to have someone with a dead 12v battery that can't be jumped to try this procedure out. I still think having the additional 12v could solve the dead battery problem for most CMAX's. IMO It would be nice If someone with continuing 12v battery problems would try this fix. I would do it, but it wouldn't prove anything because I'm not having 12v Battery problems. :) Paul
  24. Disconnecting Positive battery cable takes about a minute to do. Just lift up the rear compartment storage cover and then lift up the rubber mat over battery cover. Lift up battery cover and there is the positive battery cable, remove with a 10mm socket wrench, easy. You can see the positive battery cable in Post# 6 I think the best method for reinstalling battery cable is to leave jumper connected under the hood until after to lessen the draw on Inverter. IMO :) Paul
  25. The only thing flammable is gas that would burn up the car. Electrical Fire doesn't have much to burn, insulation is about it. IMO :) Paul
