  1. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere to me. IMO :headscratch: Paul
  2. I talked to my dealer and they didn't know thing about resetting the battery module. He suggested disconnecting the battery and see what happens. :headscratch: Maybe it will think it has a new battery. Paul
  3. Sure sounds like it isn't. I wonder if the cord got disconnected? Maybe fuse? Paul
  4. The Fan should be working anytime the A/C is on. Make sure Fan is running. Paul
  5. At 164k mi. I haven't replaced my coolant, but I have added to it after I installed ICE block heater and then removed it after it started leaking 2 yrs later. I wouldn't worry about it till at least 100k mi. and just add a bottle of good injector cleaner every 20k mi. :) I would be looking for a different Dealer that's looking out for my interest, not theirs. IMO :) I still haven't replaced my struts, don't think their shocks. Paul
  6. Sales are up again selling more Hybrids than NRG's. :) Paul

    My first Ford

If you raise your tire pressure to 50 psi like I have you will notice it is a little easier to turn and more responsive. :) BTW it is a good idea to crisscross you tires every 10k miles which will help to keep more even wear and tire noise down. :) Paul
  8. I have had this happen many times in AZ on US 89 and I-17 and last trip coming home on I-75 in KY and TN. I try to make it a point to use the HVB up before going down hill so I can regen as much as possible to keep from using ICE braking. :) With CC off the car keeps accelerating if steep enough so I will turn on Grade Assist for more braking pressure. Both times on my last trip when I maxed out SOC I was close to the bottom of hill so car didn't speed up much when HVB was full and then used EV up the next hill to deplete HVB before ICE turned back on. If you use CC I think ICE braking automatically comes on if you exceed say 5 mph over set mph. Not sure if it automatically turns on Hill Assist first, will have to check next time. :headscratch: Paul
  9. Here is a good Link for ScanGaugeII programming codes for OBDII/ ECM to monitor most anything. :) Paul
  10. I very rarely do I get my HVB SOC higher than 65% going down hill, it would would stop charging and the ICE would come on with no fuel to slow the car down. On my trip I twice hit 70.5% SOC, I'm wondering with so many miles on the car (164k mi.) and HVB diminished capacity the HVB computer allows higher percentage of SOC going down hill. Paul
  11. I forgot about this thread, but it's worth mentioning I have at least 60k mi. ICE miles on my K&N Air Filter and I got my best Oil Analyses Report yet. :) Not sure that it improved MPG's, but It seemed to me it improve acceleration. :) I guess I could put my New Ford filter in( what a job  ) And see if I notice a difference. Paul
  12. In your case it might be better to turn the EV+ off and see what happens. Also I would have taken it to a different Dealer after the second time to get some help, preferably one specializes in Hybrids. I have never heard of this problem before. :headscratch: Paul
  13. Just got back from about 2,200 mi. trip to NY and back and averaged 55mpg on mostly Interstate HWY. You can do this too if use the info from My YouTube videos. Paul
  14. I use injector cleaner/ Octane booster when I try for new record. Mostly use BJ's/ Sams gas :) Just did trip to Corning, NY and back averaged 55mpg actual. Paul
  15. Actually you can turn it on by shifting trans into reverse, I have done it a few times while in neutral by accident, nothing happens because the Planetary Gears are computer controlled, no actual shifting involved. The backup camera comes on, I don't know if the backup lights come on. :headscratch: Paul
  16. Less than a month( 4k mi.) I'm up another 0.1mpg :) to 49.1mpg, and mostly HWY miles. :yahoo: And my Fuelly.com went up to 48.1, this is Fun! :) Also I have 163K mi. on the ODO. Paul

  18. I can say that I have 163k mi. now I haven't replaced an injector yet and still getting great MPG's. :yahoo: I have definitely got my moneys worth. :) Paul
  19. In theory you could make it to 700 mi. :) 470 mi. + 200 mi.= 670 mi to 0 mi. to E + 30 mi. after 0 mi. Now if you checked your odometer it's probably off by around 1.018%, if you check it with portable GPS. So doing the math 670 mi. X 1.018% = 682 mi., so you would only need to get 18 mi. after 0 mi. to make 700 mi. :) I filled up this afternoon with 717 mi./ 13.8g/ 51.95 mpg. actual Fuelly mileage. :) My Smart Gauge had 704.4 mi./12.92 gal./ 54.4 mpg. I went 4 clicks on the pump and I'm using Premium 93 octane gas, BTW I went about 25 mi. pass 0 mi. to E. To be on the safe side I would carry a 1 to 2 gal. gas can if you decide to do this for the first time. :) Just a reminder that if you need to put gas in the car there is a funnel in the back under the cover on left side that you need to put in the filler tube so you can put gas in the car. :) It makes a big mess if you don't. Paul
  20. I guess this means we can't do it ourselves. I checked my 12 v batt. SOC at lighter plug at 12.5v with car off and 14.4 v with ignition on. Turning the car off the radio lasted 2 min. 30 sec. Paul
  21. It will be interesting to see if that changes anything. :) Paul
  22. It would appear that the Bolt is having HVB problems too. Link: http://www.greencarr...ms-electric-car Paul
  23. Well I didn't do what the OM says to do when replacing the 12 v battery and I didn't have any problems. I'm not sure, but I may have used jumper batt. when replacing the battery. I had a jumper battery in the garage and I knew I would lose my setting if I disconnected the 12 v batt. so I'm thinking I did. In that case I wouldn't have to do anything. :)
  24. Just a reminder if you don't have your Center Grill Cover taped on or some other secure way of holding it on and you park facing the sun the adhesive on the VELCRO will let go after an hour or two with outside temps 90*F+. I forgot that I took the tape off the other day and at the movies it fell off. So I put a couple of pieces of clear packing on ends of cover so I don't have to worry about it. :) Paul
