My Dealer got an update saying they will be building FEHP in the first half of 2021. Paul
-
It's disappointing for sure, may end up getting the Hybrid instead if they don't have them ready by Jan. 2021. Paul

#207 • 4 h ago Just got this from my Dealer from FORD. This is really annoying, atleast it will be a 2021, Hope my 259k/8 yr. old CMAX will last that long. Maybe end up with a Hybrid instead. Paul

I used a cheap one off of eBay for $7.50 and looked the same as OEM one. Paul

It's easy to do if you don't count the contorting your body trying to get the old filter out and putting the new one in. With atleast 150k miles on it wasn't that dirty, don't use it that often, A/C hurts mpg's. Paul

Sounds Great, ? so what Model and Year CMAX do you have? Do you use Fuelly.com to keep track of your gas mileage? Paul -
I don't think you have to worry about the ICE, I have almost 258k miles on my CMAX and has no problems from BlackStone Labs testing. Paul
-
Enjoy your new CMAX and having Fun saving money at the Pump.? Paul

Do you use recirculate so you aren't cooling outside air? Cabin filter been changed? Paul

Comparing Michelin X vs ES Max psi 50 51 Diameter 26.1" 25.9" tread width 7 in 8.2 in Michelin X is .2" bigger in diameter and 1.2" narrower which would improve FE some. 2020 FEHP tires are Michelin Primacy AS 225/60R18 dia. 28.6", there is no way that is going to fit on a CMAX, that's 2.7" bigger in dia. Paul

If you are having issues with Michelin ES you aren't cross rotating them often enough. I'm on my 4th set with 260k mi. on the CMAX and they should last 70k-80k miles. If you know how to drive in the snow, they may not be the best, but they work fine for me. Comes down to whether you want good MPG's or good in the snow. Best solution is Michelin's Energy Savers for nice weather and snow tires for the winter. Michelin's are pretty cheap when they last 80k miles. Sorry Frank but I don't know how you do it. Are you comparing Michelin's ES in the snow vs Snow tires? In the dry all testers found Michelin ES the Best for FE. Paul

We haven't changed our lifestyle much other than the mask thing in some stores. I find it challenging to dine out with a mask on. It looks like medications and vaccines will be going strong by OCT. Paul
-
I have to take mine in, but parts won't be available until OCT. Latest on my FEHP is schedule production date Sep. 3 from week of Aug. 10. Paul

Well I don't use the HOV lane very often so I will forgo spending $25 for alternative fuel license plate and save $200 on registration. Thanks for the info.? My car should be built the week of Aug. 10th so I need to start making Grill Covers and wheel and fender covers for it. Paul

I don't think so, your will be worth more after trans change. They will check it to see if they hear noise. What kind of driving do you do? City or HWY? HWY is harder on trans. Paul

How to Drive a CMAX Hybrid/FFH to get Great Gas Mileage
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
I have noticed an interesting phenomena where the ECM changes the fuel map to make the ICE run cooler/richer when I allow the WT get above 230*F for three times or more. I see a drop of 10-15*F WT temp and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in FE. Also It doesn't go back to the leaner map when WT cools down. I have to turn off the ICE to reset it, I normally try to keep the WT temp below 229*F by using the defrost button to cool it down to 215*F which takes 15-20 sec.. If I take my partial cover off the bottom Grill Cover it drops temps by 5-10*F so I'm running 210-220*F range. Middle Grill Cover is always on. Last two days I made a trip up to Maryland on I-85/95 and back averaging 53.5 mpg with some rain and A/C. Paul -
Interesting, not doing it here in GA yet, gas prices here are generally lower than most places here, I'm paying $1.99 for Premium at Sam's now. Yesterday did see $2.75 in Maryland . Gas tax is 31.6 cents. The registration tax will take some of the shinny appeal off of EV/Hybrid vehicles. Paul

Well my Fuelly.com average went up today 49.8 mpg so I expect my LT will go up to 50.8 mpg in the next few days. Considering it only took 7 weeks/ 4k miles with 256k miles on ODO. Paul -
You know I have a FEHP on order and driving one is an easy transition. Paul
-
My SM said He thought it could be one of the first ones for the Atlanta Area because of the number, it also has a Selected Order: #77441433, not sure what that means. Paul

Email him back and say you know someone that has a week of Aug. 10th build date and a Vin#. My Sales Manager has a friend at the Louisville, KY Plant to get more info from when they start building them. Paul
-
Escape definitely looks better. Paul
-
Just talked to my Dealer and got a Vin# and will be built the week of Aug. 10th with delivery about two weeks later, around the end of the month. so about a month to go. Paul

I would think if you keep driving the way you have been I would think you should be fine. HWY miles puts more tress on the Trans. Paul
