Here is a pic of CMAX 12v to 110vac inverter that was making fan noise. Unfortunately the new inverter started out making more noise than my old one. One of the fan blades was hitting something and almost stopping, but after a few starts it wore down so it isn't making as much noise, still not right. To make sure I listened to a new Fusion Hybrid and it didn't make any noise so FORD ordered another new one. ;) Paul

No it is back from the shifter under center console. :) Paul

It's the power inverter for 120V on the back of arm rest near the floor. Apparently it runs all the time which seams unnecessary. They have the part, but need time to install it. I will try to take a pic of it when I get it replaced. :) Paul

Good to hear that everything is fine with the CMAX and good luck with your new car. I ordered a 2016 F150 4X4 XLT loaded w/2.7L EB with run stop, should have it 4 weeks. I needed a truck to carry heavy boxes, tow trailer and 4X4 for snow/ICY trips back to AZ. :shift: :) Paul P.S. I don't know how you put up with the DC congestion, went through their a few days ago. :drop:

I took Mobil 1, 0w20 to my dealer and they used it and returned the unused portion. I think they still charged me $30, but that's fine. They go the extra mile for me, so I can't complain. :) Paul

Post the rest of your info that is included at the beginning of this thread and I will ad to list Paul -
I've use twp floor jacks and then jack stands to add safety. You maybe able to unscrew the oil filter by hand otherwise use a oil filter remover to get it off. Only takes a couple of minutes to remove the cover enough to remove filter and drain oil into pan. :) Paul

Time to trade it in on a new one? ;) Sounds like you don't carry a jumper battery with you. If you did it should be a pretty much a non issue. I would think it shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to open the door, grab the jumper batt., pop open the hood and jump the battery. I guess for me once a year a dead battery isn't worth the grief of the Lemon Law and just have the dealer replace the battery every time it happens. IMO :) Paul

I didn't know they have a full synthetic oil, I heard only partial. I use Mobil 1 0W20. :) Paul

Well I drove the New 2016 Prius 4 at the Atlanta Auto Show and does seem to be a little better driving experience as compared to my Daughter's 2011 Prius, still anemic by CMAX standards. Heads up display was interesting with MPH and power being used. The seats are better but rear head room has gone down. Still not crazy about the outside look. It has aluminum wheel with plastic covers that stick out about 3/8" that have very little openings to make them more aerodynamic. I still hate the little shiftier. They had the Prius in Sport Mode so I know I didn't help their MPG's. :lol2: Paul

Good Luck on that. Welcome to the CMAX community! :welcome: Paul

Mine very from about 2mpg less to actually getting better. With New Michelin's your odometer will be off by 2.2% and 1.4% when worn out so this makes the display closer to the real amount. You can use a portable GPS to verify the amount off. :) Paul

I have driven my Daughter's 2011 Prius and I found it was very difficult to accelerate from a stop to 25mph and above that it would go to ICE. The bottom line is the Prius uses a different strategy of the ICE running most of the time and the CMAX in my case the ICE is down to a low of only 28% of the time. The important thing here is the ICE at best 30% efficient and the Electric Motor is 70% efficient so the more time EVing the better your MPG's. :) Paul

How many miles are on the CMAX Energy? :) Paul

My Dealer figured out what the noise is and has ordered part. It is the inverter for the 120VAC outlet apparently has fan in it. :) Paul
-
With fully charged HVB should be able to go 2mi. with battery cold and not going above 34mph or ICE will turn on. :) Being use to the CMAX, the Prius has no EV power to accelerate, I think I can accelerate to 60mph in EV mode. :) Paul

Got a New Set of Michelin's yesterday, What a Noticeable difference. As I expected they would be quieter, but the ride was softer too. The FORD Dealer put 42lbs in the tires and I could feel the car wasn't rolling as easy as before so I raised the tire pressure to 50lbs. I could tell a little difference in rolling resistance and slight difference in ride. :shift: Did 14mi. trip with bike on the back last night and got 56.7mpg with speeds 35-55mph so I haven't lost to much from putting the new tires on. :) Paul

Strange, long wooooo sound at steady speeds, ICE on

So what are you going to get to replace it? ;) Paul -
I have 65k mi. on my second set of Michelin's running 50 psi and all tires have even tire wear between 3 and 4/32. Interesting that one tire is a hair under 3/32, one is 4/32 and other two are between. Time to get a new set of Michelin's. :) Paul

I would say at 65mph around 41mpg without drafting and 46mpg with. When I got home I was at 46mpg on 500 miles on the tank and around 200 miles going 45-55mph. I was probably drafting half the time on the interstate going 60-75mph and 65mph not drafting. ;) Without the bikes I would have been getting over 50mpg. :) Paul

Don't usually go on long trips with bikes on the back, but did this last weekend. It gave me time to figure out MPG penalty with increase of speed. This is what I saw: 35 mph( 0 mpg's), 45 mph(-1 mpg),55 mph(-2 mpg), 60 mph(-3 mpg) and 70 mph(-5-6 mpg). 70 mph is a big hit on the mpg's, Paul

2013 C-max- only 28 MPG?!??? Is there an ON BUTTON!
ptjones replied to ecogirl2206's topic in Fuel Mileage
When temps hit 70*F you should expect about 4+ MPG's :) Paul
