Was wondering if any body knew how to remove the Ford Blue Oval grille? I was trying to get mine off. Have it all loose from other panels it connects to using those black plastic snap pin connectors. But there are several plastic tabs along the bottom which hold the grille to the front bumper cover. For the life of me I can't figure out how they disconnect. I was attempting to push on the center one with a flat blade screwdriver (what else?) when I slipped and gouged a long deep scratch into the front bumper cover which I wrote about in another thread about a supplier of touch-up paint pens. Just curious if anyone had any knowledge on this removal?

Platinum White owners - what touch up paint are you using?

I went ahead and ordered some pens too. We'll see how it goes??? -

Well the weather is definitely cooling here in the Bay Area and I'm noticing that my numbers are falling off. So a 700 tank might have to wait until next year. even when I do everything right my numbers are dropping. MPG has dropped from 48.5 to 46.5 driving on the same roads which got me that last 652miles tank.

I will be waiting with great interest on how this works for you. I accidentally created a huge scratch/gouge in my paint on the front bumper just below the grille opening with the Blue Ford oval. Dug all the way through the paint and primer. Very deep scratch about 2 inches long. Of course I said "Ah Shoot" after doing it too, LOL. I know absolutely no touchup will fix it but at least it will be less noticeable.

I don't understand something about this feature which I do not plan to use, I'm too chicken to try it. If you are suppose to keep your foot on the brake to abort if need be? I'm assuming this means just having your foot poised and ready since actual foot pressure on the pedal would defeat the parking assist feature...right? Just wondered for those of you who better understand the workings of this feature.

We'll looks you might possibly bump me out of the 3rd spot on the 600 mile honor roll. Good job, well done

What I meant is there is a setting on the headlights knob which has to be turned counterclockwise two clicks to allow the lights to be on during the daytime. As a make shift DRL They aren't very bright at this setting. But maybe if Ford is reprogramming the light functions? That might be something different that I'm not familiar with?
-
I don't see this as being a problem with my warranty, but thanks for your concern. I don't agree that the factory lights are bright enough to be seen during full daylight. But that's my opinion.
-
Fotomoto, just be sure you don't buy the lights I bought by mistake. They are Hella 30 series DRLs. The 30 references that the housing must be mounted at a 30 degree angle so the LEDs are seen at their brightest to on-going cars. They were designed to be mounted on the corner of a cars front end. There is no place on a CMax to allow this because of the factory fog lights on my SEL. So unless I can come up with an alternate way to mount them, I'll have to return them. Cost me $130 and hope I can find a way to use them

Thanks Adair yah when Jus told me I was in third place, I couldn't believe it. I was on my way home from work and because I knew I had to be getting close to running out, I was staying in the slow lane which turned to work well. All of a sudden while driving about 45mph my screen suddenly came up with a large red triangle with an exclamation point inside while saying stop when safe. At that point I was running on battery alone. Thankfully I was watching my battery level and keeping it as close to 1/2 or 3/4 full as I could just in case I couldn't pull over quickly. As it turned out I was less than 300ft from an intersection, so I pulled off and parked. Refueled and was on my way on the 2 gallons I put in. Up at the next light their was a Chevron gas station so I filled up and it took 12.254 gallons to refill. First I thought how can that be since I ran it dry? But I forgot the gas I had just put in the tank. So there you have my experience of running out of gas. Now I'm wondering if it was a good idea to do that since I don't want to damage the fuel pump or anything else. But I figured just this once couldn't be too bad just to see how far I could go this one tank. Now I have a baseline for future hypermiling tanks. Like the one I'm working on now, just getting started with it and I have only 60 miles so far but I'm doing everything I can to make sure I best use this tank using all the steps I've learned from Jus and others like yourself. Stay tuned I'm going for 700 on this tank. That last one was so close I could taste it at 652.1 miles, just another 40 some miles and I would have had the 700 mark. Oh we'll it's the challenge which drives us all to do this crazy hypermiling. Take care

oh I see, thanks for clearing that up.

Replacing Headlight Bulbs
mtb9153 replied to MikeB's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
after reading your thread I went out to see if I could remove the drivers side headlight. I found that it won't come out unless you remove the torx screw which holds down the black plastic cowl cover across the bottom of the windshield. This cover contains the vents for the A/C and cabin ventilation. Once I removed the screw at the end closest to the drivers side hood hinge it came out with a firm tug straight up. I can take a picture, but I was hoping this might be clear enough to assist you getting yours out. Good Luck, really squeeze them in there. -
When I checked their website they had a listing for the CMax. This was just last week. I was planning to buy a set for Maxus front and rear
-
yah but in CA it goes back into the environment protection fund. Worth the money to help save the planet and by driving a CMax helps even more. I love not having to smog Maxus each year, plus CA legislation is considering letting Hybrids back into the HOV lanes. Hoot Hoot as I push those Prius into the gutter under full EV power, something they can't do at 65mph.

Great Jus will be interested to see what you think of the Pods. I really think they make a difference. Thanks to Suzanne and AeroHance for coming up with them. You have a winner.

Jus could you correct my membership start date? It's not 9/24/13. I joined shortly after buying Maxus on September 20th 2012. Thanks

Wooo Hoooo ! :happy feet:

No it wasn't BS, but it was not knowing how to do things. And I'm still learning Thanks Jus

If you see another CMax, do you observe how they drive?
mtb9153 replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I've come to the conclusion that California CMax owners are rude and not interested in saying hello. I can't get any of the many I see everyday to ever wave back or give me the time of day. Even when I zoom past them and then drop back and pull along side. Geez they probably think I'm some kind of nut case? ;) -
