  1. Brother Mike, snap some pics of the 2014 with the new add-ons...all these camera phones and NO one can post up a photo!?!?! ;)
  2. End of the day...car, smartphone, even video footage of you licking that chocolate ice cream in the cold, at the corner of the street....the NSA has it ALL.
  3. Thanks Jaz  Another alternative way to send a message is to hover the mouse pointer over the user name on the post. If you look at each post, the username is on the top, left hand side. Hover the mouse over the username, and a pop-up will appear and click the "Send Message" and then type away in the opened pop-up. Hope this helps.
  4. Yeah, top end cars too...a Porsche and now an Audi. One could sense these things will happen one day. I guess its a matter of time before some perp will come out with a device to jam these keyless entry systems, or open them. Ssssh.
  5. Woman trapped inside Audi Q3 on a 41C (105F) day
  6. Welcome to our CMax community Alex & family and :congrats: on the Black SEL. I think you may appreciate the refinements of the SEL a wee bit better than the SEm jus sayin' As a quick start, take a look at some of the links in my sig - gives you some nice tips about the CMax to help you establish your hybrid driving habits. Enjoy the forum and post any Questions you may have...we have a TON of knowledgeable folks here
  7. Same here, by the way...in the CMax - speaking of acceleration, slow is not always better. It pays to know when to use the thrust of the ICE and for a car this size, you can feel burst of speed. For instance, its a 35mph street and you're down to 33mph EVing - do u continue to EV. I say no, give it a short 1-2 sec of gas (press the pedal down and ease off, don't hold) up to 3 bar and come off it and as soon as you ease of the pedal, the CMax is still rocketing forward. That splurt probably uses 0.005 worth of gas but now you're travelling at 38/39mph and then kick in the EV. It's little nuances like these that give you INSANE mpgs. Did I work hard for that? Nope, one squirt of the pedal and knowing your car. City street, the CMax is a KILLER, and its achilles heel is the freeway. You can blip and eco to save gas but real savings you have to play with it. The way I look at it is this...what the hell am I going to do on a long stretch of freeway. Leave it in eco or should I jus P&G and make my drive more fun...and if its too much, hey...back to eco....or mix the 2 modes of driving. Either way, you are no longer a drone driver, falling asleep...cause now, you're paying attention to the Game. Also, theres nothing in the books or fines to say you have to hypermile. I always said, you choose how much MPG or speed with just your right pedal. No special POWER-ME-NOW-HONEY button.
  8. 3.4 regen. I got good running shoes too...Skechers GoRun ;) I use to nail this same run with 0.25 and 0.24 gas so this is still low MPG compared to the old days without the add-ons :baby:
  9. ...then you probably passed me or I passed you. That 210 is my :airquote: home freeway, travel that all the time to get to Glendale from the SF valley, to avoid the 5. B*tch to climb from Sunland... As a side issue, I've not seen my Maxine do the ICE High MPG dance post 13b07 - except coming down from the top of Sunland heading east but thats down slope and I practically have a full battery. Otherwise, at 66mph, it only sits about 40MPG and just chills out there. Does not dance in the mid 40s or 50s, even with blipping. Pfffh, I want the old ICE High MPG back
  10. I have experienced this twice...and MacGyver would know this road...when Kannan meets the PCH, there is a long a$$ downhill till you come to a stop at the PCH. Kanann is long enough to full charge the battery...and this is what I suspect happens..when the battery is full, the "extra" grip by the regen component seems to have gone and you only have the more traditional gas-engine brake. You'll know this brake feeling when you cannot charge anymore. Anyway...I had this feeling and as I came to a stop, it lurch a wee bit - unsettling but I figure that was just the brakes-only doing that. I get this same brake feel when going down the longer a$$ Sherwin grade. No lurch really as I was still cruising at 70 mph. At times like this, I wished I had the extra capacity of the Energi...it s*cks to lose all that regen with the battery as full as it gets. Ugh.
  11. You know this was coming... :needphotos: :dj: PS if you see my Polar Vortex, please advise him he is missing his dental appointment at Mammoth Mountain and he better get there ASAP. Thank you.
  12. In that case...I may want to get the STI Ltd then...or the EVO....or the GTR......hmmmh....
  13. This is BIG, we have a Ford rep now on our hottest issue thread. Kudos to Ford & Ashley for taking on on a very preplexing and challenging issue to all CMax owners. Not jus those effected by the issue. Go Ashley & Ford Engineering ;)
  14. @Paul:    time to move to warmer weather areas & better MPGs.... ;)
  15. I have had 2 days with 74.x MPG to work (same exact route) in 43F-50F, grill covers and Gas Pods. I guess this is the new norm. 20.5 miles, 16.3 EV and 0.27 gas used. Also throw in limit to 2000 rpm (new toy). Warm up was much faster and I also think that garaging Maxine MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. Tomorrow, I'll go back to the 2 bar straight burn and see.
  16. I PMed Ashley on your issue to see if the Engineers can have an input. 1/2 bar is a concern, 1 bar I can live with. We shall see. Frank, after the warmup did this 1/2 bar EV limit go away? My 1 bar goes away after warm up and when the batts drop to 1/2.
  17. I won't go back to a sedan no matter how good or better they are. I am jus too used to the view and the upright driving position. Infact, the seating in the sedan makes me feel like I am lying in a coffin....ugh, no thanks.
  18. Guys, are we talking about the same fish here - loaded, unloaded...makes a big diff, the weight and also the elevation of the drive as well. Trust me... ;)
  19. ...that is AWESOME to hear ScubaDadMiami!!! Now will you tell him about the 1 bar vs 2 bar, or shall I? I know I scare posters off.....warts and all ;) I can't believe how cold this Vortext is making the mid & east guys - stay safe....but I am curious, you guys should do a hot water VAPORIZATION testing and post it on youtube. PS If Ron drinks, lets see if he heads to The Bar first :headspin:
  20. Even I have to wear the heaviest of jackets when I snowboard in that cold and chill. Wow, that IS VERY COLD, stay SAFE John!!!!!!!
  21. I'll fix the photos tonight when I get home...looks SENSATIONAL Adair & Nick (mate - don't worry, I always have a place at the Bar reserved for u ;) ) This morning's run to work was a 76.6 MPG and I am SO HAPPY my MPGs are back, temp was 61F...can I say :woot: Oh man, I got to talk to RobertLane about the "woot" emoticon... :woot: , thats lame....
