Nice, sweet looking wheels. I think some people on the forum is slowly getting around to modding their CMaxs. I have to say Matt has done the MOST by far and it's paying him back in $$$$ for his talented effort. If I ever come into a wad of cash, I will convert Maxine into a stealth machine. I have some definitely ideas there to get her looking deadly fast and still give more MPGs...but alas, its dream for the time being. Am I correct that there is no hybrid option for the Euro CMax?

Today, I took Maxine out for a test hypermile run....lets jus say....MY GIRL CAN HYPERMILE...more on that later. I have to go and cook dinner. As Paul said, this feels like family to have Maxine back now and I can play along with all of you. :love_shower: I am always appreciative and humble by all the support, thoughts and prayers each and everyone have shown me. PS Did I tell everyone how AMAZING the view of the road is from the CMax. PS 2.0 I tanked up at Costco this evening, some short asian dude was giving me and Maxine the :airquote: eye as he filled up his Prius C...you know the lil dinky one. Now I did not say EVIL, jus the eye.....perhaps it was the Club track of Ne-Yo "Let me Love You" pumping away there at 130 beats per minute over a catchy bass that caught his attention as he filled in silence.....I dunno. I jus smiled at him as I was air beating in the driver seat to the tune. Catching up on my music....Jus Sayin :victory:

Yes, I agree. I need to groove my iron swing first and then work to the longer irons, hybrid, 3 wood and then the driver. Tell him I am also planning to pick up Swing Byte 2 this Christmas to help me re-groove my swing. It will be a while till I get to smash the driver at full speed...but its something to look forward to, other than driving Maxine :) Yah! Wifey gox Max to do some runs today and I get the Jag. Funny that, I call Maxine and she calls Max, no wonder the car is so confused... ;)

...and yes, as I promised, I changed my avatar...this time to a "Suit & Tie" for the occassion :love_shower:

I got mine back today. Thanks for your thoughts :love_shower:

Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la la la la la...cause Maxine is back.... So I got the call Maxine was ready today so I drove down there...SHE LOOKED SPANKY NEW GOOD!!!!! The paint work is incredible, the paint match was spot on and even the wee lil crappy chip jobs I did on the front are now all gone, thanks to the respray. Even got the 2 stage touch up paint as well. Test the car and everything is functional, including the park assist and the ONE NINJA kick liftgate was working. GPS was working. The music was PUMPING!!!!! Before....and After More pics...paint feels SO NEW.... Maxine may look spanking new but she suffered a lot including frame and suspension damage. It was horrendous. This was a good $13K repair job, I have the Final Invoice but jus not enuf to warrant sending Maxine to the heap. Either way would not have mattered to me - shes a great car and reliable..so my fingers crossed she will be happy at home. A new CMax meant breaking in the new engine all over again and who knows what else may come with it....you get the drift. Now...but I SUX at driving. Almost 7 weeks without the CMax and I felt I lost "da feather touch". So it felt like I jus got the car new and learning all over again on how to drive... I had to get use to the SUPER brakes. the wide and clear windows. the smell of the interior smelling new. I had to get use to the up right seating position. Remembering the 2 bar burns vs 1 bar burns. ...and of course, nothing is complete without....ta da.....an argument with the MFT. This time, over how to cancel the home destination.... I left the car with the Avg MPG at 63 MPGs at the time of the accident and it came back at 51.8MPG. Oh well. I know the body shop did testing as well, I talked to their driver. Cool guy indeed. :yahoo: ....but I have my CMax back! :happy feet: My car was fixed by Ford Auto Body located in Van Nuys aka prideautobody.com. They're the body shop for Galpin and came highly recommended. I can't say ENUF about these guys, they are a PRO shop throughout, from the guys that move the vehicles and getting the cars ready to the office. While I commend their work, I will say "here's to hoping everything hangs" together......I know for me in my healing, my tingly finger issue came recently as a consequence but the body shop has a lifetime warranty on their work for as long as I own Maxine. :) Not 6 months, lifetime. Now, for those who really helped me through all this: Laurel, Adair, Fr.Bill, Frank, Brother Mike, Paul, Rachel, SalsaGuy, wab, wamba2000, Matt, and many others here who sent their prayers and well wishes, I cannot thank you all enough. It helped so much! I will say a prayer to everyone of you to return the favour 10 fold. Laurel - a special shout out because what you did last week was magical, it truly was and jus shows the power of prayer, I kid you not. I still have a wee bit more therapy to go, the tingling is lessening now and I can't wait till I have word from my physician that I can "play again".......I so want to hit ONE golf shot. Funny enuf, I am buying an SLDR driver and an Ahina shaft as a Christmas pressie to myself for the 2 months of missing golf. Told ya I was a Golf Nut....

:congrats: Welcome aboard the Merry Ship FordCMaxHybridForum - may you have fair winds and smooth sailing always :) We are a lively family from all over the States and Canada and we have LOTS of fun. PS For the forum, I'll let the cat out of the bag that :worship: Robert Lane had worked extremely hard with Ford Motor to bring Ashley on board. Kudos to Robert Lane, who is a very unsung hero here for all the great work on this site as well as being the owner.

Golfaddict here....back seat. The boot area is useless, unless you fold one of the 60/40 seat down for the bag. I try not to keep the whole bag in the car cause thats like leaving a diamond at McDees, thieves jus go for it. I stash some clubs that I use on the floor also.

Navigation package satisfaction?
Jus-A-CMax replied to lpr's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
:love_shower: Great new then! Yeah, its pretty darn cool on an 8" easy to see screen...gotta luv it :) -
imo, the SEL was a major selling point for me over the SE. Not worth it but I am bias since I own an SEL thats in da shop for a manicure and some chiropractic adjustment.... The first time I ever had the remote locks was in a Jaguar XF and I too was confused - and Jaguar had a proximity auto lock...walk away with the fob and the car would automatically lock. That was cool...but when I went to give my keys to a friend (who drove a Prii), she could NOT understand the auto locking and swore the car would not lock. Everytime she pressed the LOCK and then tried the door it would open...repeat that like 10 times. O'really...lol.

Suggested tips for cold weather driving?
Jus-A-CMax replied to ERPriest's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
Mate...you're telling me...it was down in the low 30s this morning and that is ABSOLUTELY FREEZING for us Angelinos who don't even know the word "jumper" (US translation: sweater). I saw the effect of that storm as it went thru driving east ward - I pray all our friends in the north east are safe....that was one nasty ice and snow storm that went by. PS Be glad that you don't drive in Antartica: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/10/coldest-temperature-recorded-earth-antarctica-guinness-book Aside from the ice, not even Matt's aeromod will save him from the 20 MPGs in these ambient temps....pssss....-135F :drop: -
Suggested tips for cold weather driving?
Jus-A-CMax replied to ERPriest's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
Brother Mike, I would not worry, I had Maxine buried in the snow for almost a week and she was fine at Mammoth. Go look at the photos in my album. Plus we have folks in AK like Don. -
Ok, so every Tom, Dick and Sally know about my accident. Its going to be like almost 2 months since my accident and I have not driven my CMax. In all this time I had the pleasure of driving my wife's Jaguar (still a great gas car) and this wee lil gas guzzler called a Toyota Matrix. The latter is NOT a pleasure. Even my gas pods can barely make that car (smaller than a CMax) go not EVEN 1/2 of my MPGs close to Maxine. Yeah, I gotta quit complaining about the Matrix too... So...I had a lot of thinking to do without my CMax and this has lead me to conclude.... ENJOY your CMax and quit complaining! (Unless you are one with an unfortunate battery issue) Seriously, you drive a GREAT CAR. No, an AWESOME car!!!!! You do not realize what you have until something takes it away from you for a certain amount of time and then you OPINE like moi. Lets quit flogging the CR dead horse. It dead, it's done and we all proven (well I guestimate) that most of us drive beyond the expected 47/47/47...and if you are given CREATIVE hands like Recumpence aka my good buddy Matt - woah...thats an CUSTOM, aeromodded 47MPG beast in the COLD snow!!! Try that in a Prii <---yeah, quit beating up on them as well... Stop with the Ford bashing - without them, you have NO CMax and will be posting on the Prii forum or the Focus forum. Yeah, they screwed up in some parts but most of us have working vehicles. And YES, does Ford does listen...they even got back to me about some powertrain issues/questions I raised with them from the Irvine meeting. One day I will post up the response. So what I am saying is...QUIT BEATING UP...jus ENJOY your CMax while you still have it....until someone or something takes it away from you and then you'll say... Huh. Do I miss her....enjoy the :love_shower: :) PS U can thank :worship: Laurel for putting some positiveness into moi. Holy moly....it works :drop:
-
...and I also miss the big 8" navigation that showed me the street name ahead. Boy, do I miss that especially now with 5PM and its dark and cold outside...even for LA.

Thanks Laurel aside from my wife, I don't vent my frustration at this whole event. I am taking some time off around Christmas to get away - fingers crossed it will be with Maxine. The sad part was that Maxine was perfect-perfect, no issues and super awesome MPGs. Hope she comes back better than me...as even when I am down and frustrated, I have to say - the CMax is the best car I have ever driven and PLAYED WITH...I could never say the latter to any gas car. I really miss the EVing with the gas pods....that was so much fun....

The aero mods begin (Now working on Diffuser) !!!
Jus-A-CMax replied to Recumpence's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Not anytime soon, c the other thread. Well....one good thing is that I get to see all your guys mod away and pick the best one to apply...I like the hood seal but I don't think I will go crazy with the dremel though. I see no gas pods either on your photo...like to see what effect it has (if any). PS everytime I see one CMax drive by I drool....seriously. I miss the MPG game and the saving money bit as this wee lil rental Matrix CHEWS gas. It gets like 30-31 MPG and thats with me having the gas pods on and P&G with the neutral-drive otherwise the MPG on this thing SUCKs like you cannot believe (28 to 29) even for a wee little car. -
Wish I had happier news, but its not. Everything was put together and visually, she looked like new but when they racked her up, the suspension was not right - gotta do with the frame so now they have to add another part, another 2 - 3 business day till they get approval from the appraiser/insurance. These are all new Ford parts and this is a Ford body shop so I have confidence in their buidl but the damage bill is now up to $11K. As for me, I am showing signs of improvement but still have tingling in my right thumb and fingers, not a good sign. Still no golf also but at least I can get on an Eliptical machine before I turn into a blob of lard due to 2 months of NO physical exercising.

:worship: Thats amazingly SICK MPG....in the snow as well :) -
Here's the difference, he doesn't personally attack you like you did with him. Fine, come what may - consider this your 1st and final warning. wab - thanks for helping out.

I did not see this post in its entirety as I had to leave for my med treatment... Enough DrD, telling Frank go "get over yourself" is completely unacceptable. Personal attacks are not condoned and you need to apologize immediately.
