  1. We find the passenger seat to be less than long trip comfortable, I wish we could have had an electric like the drivers seat with the lumbar, maybe after a year or two we can find one from a junk yard to install. Ford missed it on this one.
  2. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="erwhitham" data-cid="4160" data-time="1355623467"><p> Can you describe what you call "a small old fashioned Microsoft window"? If we're talking about an identical experience (twice for me), why is it happening?</p></blockquote> erwhitham It's just a small window that states its updating, I also had to reboot my phone, it's a 'Tracfone' it is the first time I have had to do a reboot, it would not pair with the Touch, It works fine now with the touch and loads the phone book, but will not send to the sync services.

Still would be a nice feature to have.</p></blockquote> I have the 'regular' C-Max SEL hybrid and my EV+ works. You have to turn it on! On the left of the speedometer, it is not on by default.
  4. Any oil that is API certified is ok with Ford, or any other manufacture, it's your choice which one to use. I have used synthetics for so many years, I will continue, it is great in the winter, as it does not thicken as it gets used, engines turn over like in the summer, it is not more expensive, because you can use it for more miles, usually bring the cost to under what you pay for cheap oil. I change the filter at the regular recommended mileage. Most people do not use synthetics, but I guess a lot of the 'new' cars are coming from the manufacture with synthetic in the engines.
  5. This is from an Amsoil info sheet, I am not a dealer, but they have a lot of good information on Synthetic Oil. The best thing you can do for your car is buy the best oil and filter. The importance of good-quality oil in your engine cannot be overstated. Synthetic motor oils consistently outperform conventional and other synthetic oils in virtually every category of performance, including wear protection, extreme high and low temperature performance, foam control, viscosity retention, rust and corrosion protection, volatility and fuel economy. While other brands may have good performance in some of these areas, AMSOIL consistently performs at the top in every category. Drivers can have confidence knowing that AMSOIL motor oils provide maximum performance and protection.
  6. Synthetic oil is the way to go. I have used Synthetic Oil since the early 70's Full synthetic, NOT mixed or cracked, Have used in all my engines, gas and diesel, has performed perfect, it will keep and or clean the engines to look like new in side, it is also good for 'extended use', Two of the Synthetics meet all of the requirements "required by Ford".. two of the Synthetic Oils are Moble one, and Amsoil.

    Eco Cruise

ECO Cruse is kind'a like putting an egg between your foot and the gas peddle, going easy on the speed'in up.
  8. When I go to town, all down hill for 12 miles, I get avg 70+ mpg, when I come back home, I'm avg 38 mpg. I guess I should stay in town! You can't get high avg with cold weather and hilly country, but it still is better then the 18 I was getting.
  9. I find that just brushing my hand along the door handle, it locks, seems I don't have to push the button.
  10. I picked up some frames from Wally World, narrow chrome with diamonds all around, and put two screws right in the rubber plugs in the bottom of the rear frame, holds the frame tight at the bottom
  11. Mine has restarted 3 times also, 2500 mi, black screen, I believe it is the computer restarting to refresh it's systems. I saw a small old fashioned Microsoft window for a couple of seconds in the process, upon completion, all worked fine, and nothing wrong to start with.
  12. Got our C-Max SEL Ruby Red up here in the Maine back woods on 09Nov12, for our 56th wedding anv. might say our last Ford, my first car was a 1930 Model A 4door, I have the wall paper on the My Touch screen set with the Model A. Traded in my 2000 Ford SD250 Diesel, really enjoy this fine auto.
  13. I have the Stone, I think of it as white, it is very light gray.
  14. I really like Mother's 3 step, it last a long time, 1. clean, 2. fill, 3. Carnauba wax.. all put on using an electric buffer.
  15. I really like Mother's 3 step, it last a long time, 1. clean, 2. fill, 3. canuba wax put on using a electric buffer.
  16. When my car is locked, the tailgate only unlatches and does not lift when the car is unlocked the tailgate opens all the way, with one kick.
  17. I have noticed on the "How to Do" videos, a picture of the Cruse Control set to on, I use the ECO setting for Cruse, in the video it show a MPH setting under the ECO oval, on mine it does not show, I would like to see what my Cruse is set at, does any one see theirs, or know about the setting?
  18. Installed mine today, it is stainless steel with tape all on it <br /><br />
  19. JM<br /> "There has been a lot of static about the Sych and MyTouch systems.. Probably way too complicated for anyone over 13 years old. I have a C Max on order and at 67 years old, I have some concerns about the whole system."<br /> <br /> Don't worry about being too old, I'm 77, it's easier to figure out the electronics than figuring out the wife. Just takes a little time, one thing at a time, you'll get it. There are real good Videos on the Ford web site, that goes step by step<br />
  20. In this thread writers are saying the C-Max is new to the US roads, but I have read, I think with out mistake, that it has been used for 10 years in Europe, and the hybrid has been on the road for 2 years in Europe, so that does give some shake down time to the 'New C-Max'.
  21. I think wrong time may be caused by having the AM-PM set incorrectly and it fouls up the GPS time, try resetting the AM/PM, see what happens.
  22. Front of Dash center of windshield
  23. Life of the battery, Maine has an extended warrenty for hybrid batteries, they require a 10 year warrenty by the manufacture/dealer. Check your state.
  24. 2200 miles total, Temp today, >32< +- 3 deg, Hills and vales, Maine is not flat, Last trip 340 miles, village, city, interstate (62 mph), back country roads (40-50). Avg 42.2 mpg, Lifetime 38.4 In town only, has been as high as 56 mpg. I have a very light foot, and use Cruse ECO most of the time on the open roads. I find the hills really chew up the mileage, and the cold does also, usually 7 or 8 miles before the EV starts to operate after a cold start..
