  1. Oh it worked within five minutes of that issue, but for that five minutes it told me it couldn't use the book. No big deal.
  2. As a matter of fact, just this evening I used Siri instead of MFT because for some odd reason it was telling me it couldn't find the person in my address book (although MFT has downloaded my phone book). So I just switched over (you hold the paddle down a LONG time for it to come on to Siri) and told Siri to dial the number and it worked fine. The bigger question is do you have any issues using your iPhone with bluetooth in MFT? If you don't, then Siri Hands Free should work fine (if you do then you have other issues beyond Siri Hands Free).
  3. Works fine with bluetooth on my iPhone 6+ (I never plug my phone in -- except at home to charge it :>).
  4. I have the latest iOS and Siri Hands Free is working fine with my C-Max (which also has the latest). Or as fine as Siri ever does (it can do some things just great, and others are, well, weird at times to say the least -- one time she asked me a yes or no question to which I answered "Yes" and she said "I don't understand that answer". Just like a woman).
  5. Yeah, but I'm still wondering why you are here. It doesn't really instruct us in anything, because EVERY car maker will act like this. They are in the business of making money, not in making people happy (regardless of how their PR department tries to spin it). I've seen it from Dodge, from Chevy, from Toyota, from Honda and from Jeep (back when they were independent of Dodge). I'd had equally bad experiences with all of them and as I said, if I let this kind of aggravation keep me from a car maker, I'd be riding a horse (and car dealerships are *this* close to being as unscrupulous as politicians and lawyers, and that's saying something). But regardless of your own feelings and what you want to do next, we can't help you here. So do yourself a favor (and I mean that in the kindest possible way) and don't waste your time complaining on this forum. Move on, and hopefully the next car experience you have will be much better (just don't buy anything from those makers I mentioned if you want to be SURE you won't have the same problems).
  6. Perhaps an even better topic would be "What is the MOST you've paid per gallon for gas in your C-Max?". Right now things are good -- but as we all know, unlikely to stay that way. It's only a matter of time (hopefully later than sooner, because even with a hybrid you want to stretch your gasoline dollars). I'm fairly sure before our car is paid off I'll be paying over $3 per gallon (and perhaps even over $4).
  7. I always laugh when anyone says "I'll never buy another [something] from that [something maker] again!". In my MANY years of car ownership, if I ever felt this way there wouldn't be any makers I could frequent. As someone else observed, there are lemons everywhere, and in point of fact the "World According to Garp" theory is correct -- you are far more likely NOT to ever get a bad C-Max again then trying any other car or maker (because the odds of getting two in a row are astronomical). But as that same person also mentioned, you need to feel good about whatever you end up, whatever that means. Just don't look for sympathy on a forum where the vast majority of us wouldn't want any other car (my only worry is they will stop making them when I buy our next one, which will be five years or so from now).
  8. I tend to agree with your assessment for this simple reason: I asked the dealership if we could add Nav to one of the other cars we were looking at, no matter the cost, and THEY researched and said it was not possible. That leads me to believe that either it has to be done at the factory OR the cost is so prohibitive that the dealership can't even do it and charge extra to make money off of it. If the parts were really around $200 even at third party prices, that means the dealership could get them for even less and charge even $500 for the install -- we would have easily paid $1k to have it on one of the other cars (as it was we found a car that had it so we didn't have to look further). But I'd be curious to hear from someone who has done it (I might need to see pictures of before, during and after, though -- just that kind of Missouri guy, I guess :>).
  9. It doesn't connect? What, exactly, are the symptoms? (The first line of defense is to do a reset -- you'll find that in the menus).
  10. Hope it works for you in towing -- here in central Florida we get the absolute *best* mileage this time of the year when we don't need to run the A/C (or much), although even year round I've been averaging in the high 40's city and highway combined.
  11. I rarely have the map on and in any case I MUCH prefer using voice rather than taking my eyes off the road. But good there are options for people.
  12. Yup, that works (sorry it took so long to check it out but I wanted folks here to know that it was the right command). It's very useful as I can now turn it on and off by voice only.
  13. This last spring they showed a lot of the ONE C-Max commercial I've ever seen. My wife and I don't see a lot of commercials anyway (either TiVo skipping or streaming commercial free stuff) but this one showed up constantly during sports and every week on "The Amazing Race" (which even had a stunt involving the car). Now... not so much, and I'm guessing it's because gas prices have gotten so cheap they aren't making the same push. As soon as they rise again (and they will, and sooner than we all want) we may see more exposure.
  14. Does anyone know if there is a voice command to mute nav? I do like it on at times (because sometimes I want the warning) but other times it would be nice to turn it off but I don't want to hunt through menus to do so. Just like "Cancel Route" it would be nice to have a "Mute Nav" or some such.
  15. I wouldn't wait until it's over to share your issues. While I don't hold out a lot of hope you will see any benefits from it, there's always a chance that the social media route will catch the eye of someone at Ford (or even the dealer -- not EVERYONE may be unscrupulous there) and help you. As I said, I'm sure there is a Yelp and most likely a Facebook page for that particular dealer, and they are NOT going to want to see these things posted. In any case, they may well reply there and things may escalate. Dealerships are a very odd situation -- I watched a 60 Minutes report on them once and wonder how in the hell we ever allow this to continue to happen in this information age. They are an archaic holdover with a ton of political clout and there is absolutely no other product or service in the entire world that operates with so little oversight or control on them. I actually think that finding an honest dealership is such a rarity that you need to shout it from the mountaintops. I also think that it's not limited to any one maker -- you happened to come across a bad Ford dealer, but I suspect there are equally bad dealers in your area for the other companies (in our town it's our Dodge dealer that is completely dishonest, but I won't bore you with the stories). Perhaps some day they can be completely eliminated (there really isn't any need for a dealership anymore, not in this information age). I don't think it will be in my lifetime, though.
  16. Well, I don't have Sync 3 and Siri Eyes works for me. To use it, you need to hold down the paddle a LONG time -- remember that a regular paddle press will invoke MFT. Frankly, the few times I've tried it I have not been impressed (to me, MFT works more reliably and consistently than Siri does in this particular situation. We had a riot of a time trying to get Siri to navigate because I thought it would be easier than trying to get MFT to do so. Siri was about as hilarious as she can be, but not very helpful :>)
  17. So you might want to consider one for your personal vehicle next time up (here in Florida it's the BEST drive there is -- our weather keeps the mileage up and up once you understand how to drive it). And we are just getting into the high mileage season (when we don't have to run the A/C -- and, of course, heat is never a problem :>).
  18. Report the dealer to the Better Business Bureau -- will absolutely not help you, but may help the next poor soul. Also on any social media (the dealership is likely to have a Facebook page, and there's Yelp, etc.) Make sure your comments are pointed and specific as to why you are posted such negative reviews. It's surprising how powerful such negative results are (again, most likely will have zero impact in your own case, but we MUST think as a global community. I, for one, would want to know about such a bad dealership in my neighborhood).
  19. Um, I don't think you can use your phone to change the wallpaper (may be mistaken, but I could have sworn it has to be done via USB).
  20. As someone here pointed out, only the person buying the car can decide because it's VERY personal. I play tennis four or five times a week and couldn't fit my tennis bag (it's a twelve racquet bag -- think what the pros use on tour) in the back with an Energi and that alone would be a deal killer (I could toss it in the back seat but that's no where near convenient for me given how often I'm getting my stuff in and out). And on our trips to Costco we need every single bit of space we have back there, even with the seats folded down -- again, no way the Energi would work for us. I would have liked it for my short trips to the courts, though (even though my lifetime average is around 48mpg so I guess I'm doing okay with the hybrid). I could see it as a second car for my wife, particularly at the price you're getting, but I would have been VERY unhappy with it myself. But YMMV (literally and figuratively :>).
  21. Ho-hum -- same lack of acceleration, worse getting in and out of... and fuel economy about on par with what I get in Maximis. Can't see any reason at all to even consider it for a second vehicle (if Ford is still making them in three years it will be another Max. If not...)
  22. Make sure your MFT is up to date with the latest (you can check by going to MyFord). I would also try resetting it (you'll find this option in the menu). And if it still doesn't work and if it's up to date I'd take it into the dealer and have them look at it.
  23. And there are those of us who bought the C-Max *because* of MFT (like myself). So, yes, consider all of those factors when you shop.
  24. Um, now all this talk has me wondering (and worrying): what do I do if I just want to jump start my car? (Using that little portable battery jump-start thing I bought when I was worried about having battery problems Haven't needed it yet but I had better well figure this out before if/when I really do need to do this). Should I just attach under the hood to the positive and the negative post under the hood? (If so, I guess I had better identify them now).
  25. Yeah, but Paul -- you're not going to get rid of that car in another 15K or so, right? The way you drive, that's next week <bg>.
