  1. Wife just texted and said the check came today. She also said there was a note in there saying 'Split this with your wife' Did anybody else get this one? I'm going to have to CSI this when I get home. Purchased Oct./2012 Last Name sarts with "M" Live near Jackson, MI
  2. That's one of the problems with a first model year vehicle. The value hasn't depreciated to the point where they just issue a check. And there aren't enough parts in the repair pipeline to make them less expensive. Also, the tech on this vehicle is, well, like finkins said " one double-fill Oreo cookie under the hood!" I do feel his pain having my own deer 'close encounter' earlier this year. Hope the repairs go well.
  3. It seems to be the annonimity of the internet, that allows people to openly spout their crass rhetoric, than when face to face which requires them to take responsibility for the things they say.
  4. I also went with the WeatherTech Digital. I like the coverage and side walls that will keep messy stuff on the mat and off the carpet.
  5. I'm also sorry that this has happened. There may be one saving grace in that, because the vehicle is so new, they may only have to paint the fender as the paint hasn't started to fade yet and may be easily matched. Small comfort but we have to take what little we can. The down side is it happened at work, and it might be someone you know or work with that has so little consideration.
  6. I feel a little inadequate here, but its just a normal trip to work with some +70 mph driving.
  7. Was going to post this also and saw this thread. Same on Ford web at http://www.at.ford.com/news/cn/Pages/FordUpgrades2014CMAXHybridforBetterFuelEconomyChanges2013LabeltoImproveCustomerSatisfaction.aspx
  8. It seems that whether or not a loaner car is supplied varies from one dealer to another. The dealer I purchased My CMax from has offered me a car each time I've had to leave any of my Fords for service. But, this dealer had one of the worst reputations around for many years. I only went here a couple of cars ago because a family friend had started working there. I mentioned it to him, that he was the reason I was even thinking of buying here. He took me directly to the owners office and told him what I had said about my previous dealings with this dealership. The owner said he had completely cleaned house and taken a more hands on approach because of the reputation the dealership had earned. He gave me his home and cell number and urged me to call him if I ever felt I wasn't receiving the service I felt I should. He also introduced me to his son who is manager of the dealership. His son did the same, gave me home and cell number. I thought this was encouraging and decided to buy from them. This was no big purchase just a base model Focus, but they made me feel like I was their most important customer and they wanted me happy. A few months after the first purchase the family friend moved out of state, so I have no more connection there. But, I have since bought two more cars from them (1 being the CMax), and have them service my T-Bird which wasn't purchased from them. I'm thoroughly pleased and both owner and son remember my name when they see me and ask about each of the cars. A different larger local dealer made me sign a paper, with my purchase papers, where I had to acknowledge that they did not make loaners available for service visits but that they did have rentals by the day if required, at my cost. They never got another bit of my business. This dealer must have changed their practices as a previous poster spoke their praise. But, a lost customer is hard to reclaim. Sorry for the long post. YMMV
  9. This last tank just meets the minimum. I'm slowly learning the ways of the Max.
  10. I did the update on the way home from work and eveything went smoothly. I was careful about following the prompts with regards to the ending of the procedure and made sure not to pull the USB until it gave the final OK. The reporting to Sync site went fine also. I noticed that in the quadrent for the radio that now, instead of just the presets, it will also show the current song playing. It used to only show the Logo for the station. (at least on satellite)
  11. Congratulations! I have an Ice Storm SEL and I really like this car.
  12. I have the HTC One and it paired well with Sync. It reads incoming text but will not send voice to text. This phone replaced my EVO 3D which did not read text messages at all.
  13. I have had the same thing happen and I can't give a good reason for the beep, but I believe those sensorsare not activated until speed is <5 miles/hour. Perhaps there was a little creeping, I just don't know. But I have had the sesor beep in the winter when the sensors are covered by snow/slush while driving. Come to a stop and they beep and they stay beeping until you start to move. After a few stops I got out to clear the bumpers off. I used to only have to get out if my wipers weren't clearing the windshield. I now know about the sensor disable and i will use it this winter.
  14. With Ford it used to be that you could buy mileage up front at a discount if you thought you were going to exceed the standard mileage. Discount was like 8 cents/mile and regular was 12. I know I bought 30,000 extra miles and decided after that, that leasing was not for me. Allowed mileage was 15,000/ year. That's like 5 months normal driving. I just barely made it without still having to pay more at the end of the lease.
  15. My Ice Storm is almost the exact same color as the Monterey Mist of my 2004 Thunderbird. Parking them side by side in the driveway there is little if any difference. I think they use, rename, then use again some of these popular colors. I did, however like the Mystic color changing paint on my friends Cobra Mustang. Changes from Purple to Green to dark Blue, depending on the sun.
  16. Mine also shows the C-Max. Installed 2 weeks ago. Took the whole day but has worked well since then.
  17. Mine only illuminate if the cloud cover makes it dark enough to triger the auto lamps. I agree that according to the manual as written that when the wipers come on so should the lights. With the rain sensing wipers there is no intermittent setting that I can find, only sensitivity. I have tried it both with autolamps on and off, and couldn't get it to work the way the manual says.
  18. Ive had luck so far, when the Sirius preset buttons go dark, by going to the entertainment quadrent and cycling through Sirius 1, 2, & 3 displays. When I come around to the #1 display again the descriptions will be there. Have used a similar method when the street names do not show on the Nav. function. I click the Sync button and start a route to Home, as soon as it tells me the nav will start I cancel the route, then close to the home screen (middle button) and the street name display. Alot to go through for a system that has been around for a while now, but I just want to get back to the way I like my display quickly.
  19. @salprint, not to be a downer but that is almost an exact description of my deer hit and it ran my insurance $2800. Cracked bumper fascia with no other apparent dents. Broken stuff (plastic brackets under the fender). Mine was drivers side.
  20. I have had several times when the touch unlock feature did not work, and I grabbed the handle over and over trying to get it to unlock to no avail. I also had it where the I locked the door using the inside lock button and then closed the door, only to hear it unlock as I started to walk away. I drove me a bit nuts. I posted a question about it and received great advice that caused me to do some experimentation. I found that the unlock feature appears to matter which pocket I carry the fob in and which hand I reach out to the handle. Sounds weird I know, but I'm a wide guy and if reaching out with my right hand and carrying the fob in my left pocket it could well be near the 3 feet that the system requires, depending on the way my body is facing toward the car. Since I thought about this I have made effort to be more careful of my body's orientation, and not had a failure to unlock or behave as expected in a week. Battery level of the fob may also play some minor role. The lock feature has worked correctly every time as long as I only use the fingerprint sensor on the door handle Weird, but I'm just sayin'
  21. Had a similar problem while delivering Xmas presents to my family. Wanted to experiment with navigation, while trying to enter sisters address with voice, system locked up and screen went white. Pulled over to shut off engine and exit car, radio did not shut down even when I opened the door. Called dealer for suggestions, they said bring it right in. I was 30 miles from dealer and only 5 miles from my sisters so I took presents there. Didn't stay because I didn't want battery to discharge in her driveway. Dealer said they had to do a master reset, which is basically disconnect battery and reconnect.
  22. I live in the Irish Hills area of Michigan and have used the same procudeure described earlier of accelerating up a hill and releasing the pedal just prior to the crest. The car drops to EV mode just before it peaks the hill and it will remain EV until it gets partially up the next hill. Repeated as necessary the drive in along US-12 garners 40.3 to 43.1 since returning from Xmas break. Entire ride is 60.5 miles each way., and have not had the greatest success on the ride home as traffic is more congested. Can only get as high as 39.8 for that trip and sometimes lower.
  23. I have a 2004 Thunderbird that has occasionally had a dead battery for no apparent reason (since purchased new about 4 times). It is a relatively frequent problem described on the forums. The main concensus is that there is some sort of problem with relays in the circuitry of the rear window defrosters that occasionally allow the battery to discharge through this circuit. I've not had the problem for a while now but they never fixed anything, that they told me about. The last time replacing the battery, saying it was not showing the correct CCA's. I've not had a problem with the C-Max yet, but just want to 'relay' a bit of Ford experience.
  24. @Speed6ing 2 C-Maxing and @FoutsNC, I think you may be right in that the fob is sensed as still being in the car, so it unlocks itself. @Shaners Thanks for the reply but I was not near the handle, just closed the door. I think given the insight from everybody I'll just have to get in the habit of using the buttons on the fob after i'm a good distance from the car. I just want the car to actually be locked when i think it is. But it is good to know that i probably wont be able to lock my keys in the car accidentally.
  25. I have a C-Max SEL with the keyless ignition option. Because I don't require the key to start the car I always keep the fob in my pocket. I'm in the habit of using the lock buttons on the interior of the door to set the locks as I exit, then close the door. What has happened a couple of times is, after I close he door I will hear a click and the doors unlock themselves. It doesn't happen every time just about 3 or 4 in the three weeks I've had the car. Has anyone else had this happen? Just wondering.
