  1. I got Crystalline 40 on the sides and back, and 70 on the front windshield, like it so far, although will know better in phoenix in august :)
  2. That brings up the safety aspect to me though. The Tesla has a lot going on (for my Phoenix friends there is a Tesla store in Scottsdale Fashion Square where you can see one up close and play with it) with the touch screen. And last I heard it had no voice commands although they were coming. But with that touch screen it is impossible to change anything w/o taking your eyes off the road for a significant amount of time I would say. You can't even rest your hand on something to steady yourself like you can in the cmax. For the cmax, I never use the touchscreen to adjust a/c, I just use the dedicated controls, which usually amounts to just changing the temp which i can do w/o looking away. I can change volume, and seek on the radio via the steering wheel w/o looking away. 95% of everything i do is with voice commands and/or steering wheel controls.
  3. Why do you assume the GPS is more accurate? BTW, my old Ford Explorer speedometer is 3mph slower than my GPS, seems to be common.
  4. Yes, and that is the difference between the standard and bi-directional remote start.
  5. The car or the remote? The horn will chirp twice. The remote will beep and has a green light both when it sends the command and when it receives confirmation from the car. My car will stop once I open the door. My understanding is this is due to Ford vehicles w/ MyKey. If you start the car w/ remote start and it keeps running when you get in, then I could see how it would be difficult for the car to enforce the MyKey system.
  6. Had a slightly rough road getting the bi-directional swapped. Dealer didn't completely erase all traces of the old remote start from the car, so it was behaving oddly. (Climate would come on the opposite of what I had it when the car was off. Car would "reboot" over and over sometimes when I try to use the remote start. Brought them both keys so they could reprogram everything. Now it works fine. Love the bi-directional, better range too. It has a different antennae also. Much better compared to the previous installation.

  12. Looking at pictures of the volt (I haven't inspected one up close in person) it almost looks like that grill was designed w/ built-in grill covers.
  13. I agree with that statement; although I would like to know what percentages of people have problems. I'm wondering if it could be a vocal minority? I read somewhere that according to Ford's internal information (obviously not an unbiased source), most of those who had MFT would get it again.
  14. That happened to me one for about 10 mins, then the problem fixed itself.
  15. Another good command, ask her "What can I say?", "Help"
  16. So to repeat something I think you have said before. The covers are much more about the temperature than the aerodynamics of the car?
  17. I don't think there is anyway to do that. I suppose that's what posting to the topic does.
  18. I feel sorry for you. Rachel, anytime you are in the Phoenix area let me know, and I'll let you drive my C-Max around.
  19. I am not arguing that MFT has way more problems than it should. I only argue the "typical Microsoft" comment. BTW, this works fine for me too. I wonder why its so inconsistent between different vehicles? Seems to me that would be the type of thing to either work for everyone, or not work for everyone.
  20. I just got 3M Crystalline tint on mine. Will know more once the summer comes, but from my research it's one of the best when it comes to actual heat rejection. A good film does so much more than just make it darker. http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=66666UF6EVsSyXTtnxf6oXT6EVtQEVs6EVs6EVs6E666666--&fn=Auto WF Performance Data.pdf I'll be getting the front windshield done next week. I have tint on my Explorer for 14 years (don't know the kind because my parents had it done), but it still looks like the day it was put on.
  21. It's not just you, it just irks me when so many people see the word Microsoft and assume it's crap. I think that's a matter of opinion, I happen to like the quadrant idea and the instrument panel displays. There are a lot of stability problems documented (I personally have not encountered them, so I know not everyone has a problem, but a lot do). As a software engineer I know all too well how complicated software is, so I admit that I do have a greater tolerance for software problems, compared to the average joe. When you look at Windows, it's a miracle it works at all. A near infinite combination of hardware platforms, additional software installed, and the interaction of billions of users means that there will be problems.
  22. At this point I would go to Ford Corporate to verify the order is in correctly. I find their twitter help useful @FordService
  23. Doesn't the C-Max have a larger cargo area than focus? Not purely an apples to apples comparison. I haven't looked at the prices and data but comparing a fusion vs fusion hybrid might be illustrative.
