Recreational Towing (behind a motor home)
zhackwyatt replied to jmckinley's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Well that's not good. Since you have keyless entry if the car battery dies there is no way to get into the car w/o those key blades. -
I wonder what the chart looks like Today compared to 2 months ago. Is that bell curve shifting to the right as things get warmer?

Would you buy the CMax if the advertised MPG was below 47/47?
zhackwyatt replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I guess I was confused by: I could only find the one by Maximus too. What other incredible ones were you referring to? -

Maybe some folks have the C-Max Energi in there, eventhough there is a seperate category. :headscratch: -
My dealer said the same.

As I said in a different post, "I would argue that their car, especially something like a C-Max, is the most complex item most people own and we expect it to be the most reliable item we own." There are countless regulations from government, and they still have to make it fun to drive yet efficient, pleasant to look at but yet aerodynamic, safe but not too heavy. Hundreds of thousands of parts coming from all over the world manufactured by different suppliers. They have to figure out how to actually build these things in an efficient manner. The engine has to be able to spin at 6000 rpm with millimeter tolerances without blowing up. I don't know about the C-Max but the Chevy Volt has 10 million lines of code that has to work, (CMax can't be too far off.) It has to work in 0 degree weather to 100 degrees. Rain, sleet, and snow. And it has to be affordable. And the thousands that they do build must work for every kind of crazy person that gets in the thing and starts mashing all the buttons. I'm surprised any car works at all :)

The AS1 line is supposed to be variable depending on the slope of the windshield I believe.
-
Most states don't allow it below the AS1 line that's engraved on the glass of the windshield, seems to be TX law: http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/ I decided to go clear film on the entire front windshield in Arizona. I want to block as much heat as possible.

New buyers think carefully about what model you order

On my sticker under optional equipment: REMOTE START *DLR-INSTL 445.00 As long as you didn't pay for remote start I wouldn't worry about it, as now you have the opportunity to choose bi-directional or not. -
Sending Google Maps to your C-Max
zhackwyatt replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I used the Send To Car app, I like that better than the Sync Destinations because you look up the addresses in Google Maps. It can't do as much as Sync Destinations, but I don't use the other stuff anyways. -
Using the Left Steering Well controls, choose Settings > Vehicle > Lighting > Auto Light Rain I can't say I've noticed the indicator come on when it rains. Maybe when I wash the car, I'll give it a test.

Replaced Low beam OEM bulbs - pictures
zhackwyatt replied to wamba2000's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
So are these the bulbs that I cuss at every time a car w/ them is driving straight toward me on the highway? -
Vehicle Health Report - VHR
zhackwyatt replied to C-MaxSea's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I ran one shortly after I got the car. It's nothing but a Red/Yellow/Green type system for different categories. -

Sending Google Maps to your C-Max
zhackwyatt replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
In google maps on web on a pc, there is a send link for poi's that you can email, or send to a phone. I don't know if that is what he was talking about. You can also download the Sync Destinations app, that you can send directions to sync. First you choose the location in the app, then send to sync. Then in the car, you connect to sync services and it will download the destination into the car. -

C-Max Energi does have remote start from the factory. (According to owner's manual, I don't have an Energi to verify.) -
If you just tap the turn single in either direction, it will always blink 3 times at a minimum.

SD Card and USB spec question
zhackwyatt replied to kc1174's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have the same phone and it shows that message all the time. Are you keeping the phone in HTC Media mode, or mount as a drive? -
Sony Audio: 100 or 390 watt?
zhackwyatt replied to dalebunker's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I wonder if that was partly because of electrical draw would hurt efficiency. Chevy makes a big to do about the custom low power Bose audio in the Volt. -
Hmm, I was wondering if those that use their whole foot are the ones that feel the brakes are grabby. Every time I drove a rental car and when I first started driving the c-max I made everyone sick because the brakes and gas in these new vehicles actually do something when you press on them. My old explorer wouldn't. Now when I drive my explorer I have to keep from crashing into things because I press the brake just a little (which is good for the c-max) doesn't do anything in the explorer. It's a learning process every time I switch between the two.

I wrote some more info on Remote Start in another topic. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/topic/1167-2013-c-max-sel-ordered-1120-and-just-now-getting-vin/&do=findComment&comment=8638 -
Here's a question. Who is using their entire foot to brake and who is using just their toes with the heel resting on the floor, like a lever? Using your entire foot doesn't give the dexterity that the toe does.
-
Damn, I wish I knew about Weathertech before I forked over the extra for Interior Protection Package from Ford. They don't cover the foot rest for the driver.
-
You should put it on a USB stick and put it in your Dad's car.
