  1. The OK key in the middle of the left controls.
  2. The power is there in an emergency situation. But the C-Max is a bit different than a bare economy car. The battery can provide bursts of power when combined with the ICE. In fact, it can really run well if you like, and are willing to accept 33-35 MPG in town instead of 45. I've seen people do it, but not often. Accelerate off the green light, using the battery and ICE. Then let it cruise and recharge the battery. I drive for MPG, but some people don't. I have a co-worker who has a Prius that he drives hard. Only gets in the 30's with it, but he has fun.
  3. On a Ford, the turn signal running fast generally means there is a bulb out somewhere. If the bulb is working it means a short somewhere else in that circuit.
  4. I've not driven the hybrid on twisty roads. But the CG is not a factor with the C-Max. I used to drive an Escape hybrid - now THAT was high CG. The C-Max barely leans at all. It isn't really a matter of the weight, it is the rear wheels coming out of turns. Not talking about acceleration here.
  5. You also have to account for any uphill, which will eat away at range.
  6. There is a person on the Energi forum who bought a totaled 2014 Energi, repaired it, and is driving it. That one was hit in the right rear and totaled by the insurance company. An impact to the front right should not affect the hybrid systems. But I agree, due to the residual values, it may end up being totaled.
  7. There Energi charges the 12v battery after it finishes the HVB. It sounds like your 12v just went bad.
  8. Paul, No, coming out of a turn, the more weight on the rear tires, the less likely to start slipping. It is on the second part of the turn. This is why a RWD drive (or AWD these days) is considered better for performance - the balance between the engine up front and more weight over the rear wheels. The hybrid has some weight back there, but the Energi has and extra 200 or more lbs. It handles better coming out of a turn.
  9. Yes, but the extra weight over the rear wheels helps when pulling out of a turn.
  10. I think the C-Max could do pretty well, with mods. Or at least the Energi would; it has 300 lbs extra weight over the back wheels. I've always noticed how balanced the car is on twisty roads.
  11. MicroSquish has free copies of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint for Android - But they only save to OneDrive. They will read from others like Google Drive, but unless you own the desktop versions of Office, you cannot write. I keep my mileage log on OneDrive, so I can fill it out at the gas station. The problem I'm having (OT here) is that with Windows 10, I can't sync OneDrive to my computer that is logged into a local domain. They want me to sign in with Microsoft, and I'm afraid if I do that I won't have access to the network drives. They changed it recently - up until this month OneDrive would sync with my Windows 10 desktop easily.
  12. The 2013 can be turned off at the dealer. The setting is in the BCM. Unless you are in Canada, of course.
  13. Take a look at the other tire threads. I keep mine at 50, for economy. I'm at 25K right now. It rides a bit rougher, but from what I've read here, it doesn't affect longevity in a negative way.
  14. What, there is something besides a car in the photo???!!?
  15. Well, there isn't much choice sometimes. The Microsoft site for OneDrive won't work with FireFox (or IE) - it constantly refreshes. It is designed for Edge. I have to use Edge when I visit there. It may only be on a Windows 10 machine;it is possible MS picks up the OS when you go there.
  16. If I decide to walk away from my lease, that car will be on my look list.
  17. The 12v battery may not last so long. Dealers tend to let them run down and have to jump them. When I bought my Energi in 2014, I started out looking at hybrids. The dealer had 40 or so on the lot. We tried about 8 of them - all dead batteries. Finally charged one up with a cart so I could drive it. I ended up leasing an Energi from their "main" lot, which fired up and drove first time. Be sure and negotiate a good deal - that car is not the current year and they should be dealing.
  18. I believe Firefox syncs across platforms now, but I only use it for syncing different PCs so I'm not sure. I prefer FF to Chrome for the PC. I also webmaster a couple of sites. The problem I most hate when surfing the web is that some people program ONLY for IE. Their sites are using tricks that don't work with all browsers. If you are making a site, make sure it works! Drives me nuts when I have to open IE or Edge to view a site. Just lazy programming in my opinion.
  19. I think hydrogen may be the answer. It can go into existing fuel stations, and the technology is there. Fuel cell tech is more that 50 years old.
  20. Sorry, I disagree on item 2. Spending 20 or 30 minutes to charge every 250 miles is not good enough, not to mention the problem of batteries not being able to charge more than a set number of times. There are technical issues there. I can gas up in 5 - 10 minutes.
  21. Ah, so my original assumption was correct. I'll be interested to read how well that worked. 4KWH is not really that much battery, and the HSD is not optimized to run on EV.
  22. You know, that is about right for the C-Max. I get about 45 around town (when driving hybrid mode), and at 75 I will get 37 or so. At 80 I get 35. Your figures are about what I would expect. For better mileage, keep it to 65 on the freeway. You will probably get over 40. I know that for trips when I manage to keep it to 70, I get right at 40 MPG. I have an Energi, but once the extra battery runs out, it is basically a C-Max hybrid, except that it can capture more energy going down hill.
  23. Really? You can plug in your Camry? EDIT: Oh, wait, I get it. You used to own the Camry, but have since bought a C-Max Energi. Sorry!
  24. I'd love that, but I doubt it. The platform is too high, and they are selling well without the hybrid option. Why should Ford complicate their assembly line for a vehicle that will get lower 30's EPA at best? I don't know, maybe since Toyota has brought out a hybrid for the Rav4, Ford might consider it.
