Hollywoodtx, when I did mine, way more years ago than I care to admit, I painted lemons, leaves and stems and wrote the dealership name on both doors! THIS WAS DECADES AGO, FOLKS!!! NOT A C-MAX!!!

Correction.....the car was silver, the LEMONS were an *after market add-on* I don't think there was a Lemon law then.

Thanks Rachel, I appreciate any ideas. The thing that worked all winter was to turn the headset off when I got in the car, take and make calls thru SYNC while driving, then turn earbud back on when I get out. I had the sequence down so if I was on a call, either getting in the car or exiting, I could switch from one to the other and not lose the call. And yes, this is a different phone from the one when this heat-related problem started. Also, before the APIM install, I un-SYNCed the phone and drove the car for a week. SYNC froze twice, both times on hot afternoons. It never happens in the mornings or on cool days. This is somehow connected to the heat. November - mid-April, after I figured out the headset switch sequence, it worked just fine. And last week, after the new APIM with temps in the 60s-70s and cloudy. No problem! Yesterday it was 82 and sunny...failure. And no, Jus, I will not move any farther north to avoid the problem! The last time I took it to the dealership while it was like this, someone on the Ford Hotline suggested I drive another C-MAX for a few days to see if the problem happened. I think I'll suggest that when they call me back. -
Looks like Jus got you entered Charles, so it's all good!! Congrats again!!

SOOOOOOO Cool HybridBear!! I hope your parents enjoy their new ride. I have to think they may be of *my* generation, and I'm lovin' my Hybrid! It's a whole new world out there! Welcome to the Forum (if only vicariously) Mom and Dad HybridBear!!!

I was thinking the same thing Laurel!!! But it just shouldn't take all the drama to get things done!! I'm from another generation, clearly!
-
Fingers crossed that this works. Wonder why it takes the threat of ****LEMON LAW**** to flip them into overdrive to get the problem addressed?

Thanks for posting that Matt! I'm at just over 500 miles on this tank, and MTE tells me there is 178 left to go. Part of that is going to be X-way, so I'm hoping for a 600 tank!!! I'm Encouraged now!!!

Dang SnitGTS!!!! You're killin' me!!! Way to go!!!

Oh, and a HUGE congratulations!!!

Charles, I don't know why, but I can't get that picture to open. I can see the 607 but can't read the rest. Can you send me the particulars and I'll get you added?

Today was the first hot (80+ degree day) since I got my C-MAX back after the new APIM was installed last week. I went out to run some errands at lunch. SYNC worked fine when I started the car in the parking lot at work. Everything worked fine after I picked up Asia's race packet for the race tomorrow. Next stop was the health food store for about 5 minutes. On the way back out to the car I thought, " I should call Briarwood to tell them how well the car is doing. " Got in and pushed the start button. NO SYNC!!! No phone, radio, CD. No buttons, paddles or dials worked. The screen looked perfectly normal.....except that nothing worked. I confess to sitting there for a few minutes in disbelief. We had all been so sure the new module would work. I unpaired the phone so I could at least make a call, and called the dealership with the bad news. With the holiday and all, I doubt I will hear anything before the first of the week. They are going to call the engineers. ........................big sigh..........................I jinxed myself.

Frozen system and clueless service departments

You forget, Jus, I drove it from December thru April in the FRIGID Michigan winter! It never misbehaved. That should have been test enough! (poor short term memory on his part ) :hysterical: -

Good luck! I've had mine back for a few days now and so far, so good. Altho it's not been hot enough for anything to happen. Did I understand correctly that it happened once for you while you were driving? WOW, mine never did that. I posted on another thread http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2391-got-jelly-back-this-afternoonyay/ what the work order said. Keep us posted. If your dealership is interested, my work was done by Briarwood Ford in Saline, MI, phone # 734.429.5478 -
Wouldn't the outside air @ 116* defeat your purpose?

Happy Canada Day - Laurel & our other fellow Canadian CMaxes!!!
Adair replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Awesome! Happy Canada Day (a day late) Laurel our other Canadian brothers and sisters. -
***Warning! Waaaay off topic!*** Cloud of Smoke I'm sorry, I resisted as long as I could. The first thing I thought of when I read this title was, *With a cloud of dust, and a hearty Hi Ho Silver, the Lone Ranger Rides Again!* There, I said it, I feel better now.

WOW!! How cool is that?!?! Welcome Brandon, we're so happy to have you join the forum. You will definitely provide a different perspective on C-MAX ownership. Please enjoy reading, and ask any questions you can't find answers to And here's a question for you.......how have the first 40,000 miles been? You're way ahead of anyone else on the forum, I think. You've made a great decision!
