What cool hidden feature have you discovered about your C-Max?
Adair replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
Haven't done this in a while Rachel, but I think you just pull the pull the right paddle and say *Weather Map*. I'll try tomorrow to be sure. -
That's just freakin' awesome Jus!! :worship:

The proximity sensors, maybe? -
I saw a grey SEL at the office next to mine yesterday. Drove into the lot and took a picture of mine next to theirs. Of course, I can't upload it :>) I was planning my stalking contact maneuvers, but they weren't there today.....sigh.... maybe I was hallucinating?

Now that you mention it, I like the little umbrella tray to the left, just beside the driver's seat! Fits my collapsible umbrella perfectly! -

Wamba, it's in the climate control area, below the MAX/AC knob. A button with a * P * on it. Turn it off in the drive-thru or car wash, then turn it back on. If you forget, it resets to on after you restart the car. -
I said exactly the same thing!

Rain sensing wipers when in reverse. Redial Being able to turn off the proximity sensors when going thru the drive-thru at the bank or a car wash. -
Hi Jedi, I'm the *Adair* that Jus-A-CMax refers to above. I live near Ann Arbor, MI. I got my C-Max in late November 2012 and have driven it all winter, thru temps from the single digits to the 20s and 30s. My mileage has been in the mid-to upper 30s until the last 2 tanks. I have nearly 5,000 miles on the car, and the weather is moderating. The last tank was 40mpg and this one, when I fill up today, will be 43 or 44mpg for the tank. On individual trips to/from work, about 20 miles each way, I get anywhere from 46-56 mpg. My Fuelly numbers below will show a lower number, because it is the AVERAGE from the beginning, but that # will consistently climb now. There is so much I love about the car. Go back and read some of my posts, and feel free to ask any questions. Welcome to the Forum, happy reading, and let us know what your choice is tomorrow.

That is exactly what I've been experiencing this week on my 13-mile commute. 40-41 on the way to work and well over 50 on the way back (at least on Tuesday and Wednesday). I was attributing the difference to the wind, but maybe difference in temperatures from the high 50's in the morning to the high 70's-low 80's in the afternoon also played a role. It sure is a far cry from those mid 30's I've been getting since the start of winter. I LOVE reading these posts!!!! :wub2: :yahoo: :happy feet:

I can just imagine the ones you are talking about. Dude, we don't make that kind of money. Besides, where would I put my vegetable garden? :headscratch:

Grotuk, I'm so, so sorry that this is still plaguing you! You said that the car worked for some time after being forced to stop......how long? I just got that message this Sunday, after starting the car in a parking lot. But I turned it off and it started immediately, and every time since. Mine was also built in late 2012, November 24 to be exact. I certainly hope your dealership can get this resolved. Have you shared with them the info from other posters with the same problem? It may point them in a direction they had not thought of. Please keep us posted, and know that we all wish you a speedy resolution!

Honestly, I'm not noticing any drop off in posts.........but *if* there is, I suspect that the nicer weather is the reason. :wub2: People can be outside, doing lawn cleanup, garden prep, and vehicle spiffing and don't have as much time inside to blog. I mean, last month there wasn't a lot to do outside but shovel and cut firewood, :angry2: :for some of us, so, cabin fever aside.........it's time to play outside!! :happy feet:

You got it at just the right time Manticore. You missed the cold northern winter. You're right, it IS only going to get better. Congrats on your new ride, and welcome to the forum. There is a ton of info here, so take your time, read, learn, ask questions. We're a friendly group and love to talk up our cars!

YAY for you Jay!!!! That's so awesome! See my new post BEST.TANK.EVER for even more encouragement. Sounds like your commute is similar to mine and I've been seeing the same MPG as you until recently when the weather changed for the better. It's only going to get better from here!
-
Ok, I've tried for 30 minutes and can't upload the picture, so you guys will just have to take my word for it. There are 332 miles on this tank so far. 165 have been EV miles. I've used 7.63 gallons of gas and the MPG is..........................44.1mpg!!! For the tank! That's not for one trip, which is what I usually post. You'll see from my Fuelly sig what my Lifetime average is since the end of November. For me, here in until just recently frozen MI, this is huge! And it bodes well for the rest of us in the north!!

Who has 3.1.3 Nav and IT WORKS PROPERLY?
Adair replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have the older version too. I haven't used the GPS much, since I usually travel to places I know, but when I have used it, it's worked fine. Also, the read-out on the screen knows where I am all the time. We'll be driving to a race this weekend and I plan to use it then. If we end up @ Ford Field, and not in the middle of a corn field, we'll be ok. -
Yes, I got it a month or so ago and filled it in online. I tried to be as honest as possible, but since I love my C-MAX....I didn't have a lot of negative to say, just some suggestions. Hopefully someone from the forum will win :>)

I think we're gonna see a lot more of these reports coming in from those in the frozen north as things begin to thaw. Way to go JohnnOhio!!!
