When my Jeep Liberty was barely 6 months old (11 years ago) I was T-boned in a grocery store parking lot by a cart being driven my 50 MPH wind gusts. Did $700 in damages. I contacted the store, the corporate offices, anyone I could think of but they smugly pointed to the sign above the cart corral that says they are not responsible by damages done........blah, blah, blah. So, I took my $1,000/month grocery business to another store and took a few friends with me.

CRIKEY! Holy MPG Batman! Sleep is *NOT* overrated.......go get some and check back later. We'll wait here. :)

Awwww JohnNOhio....(that State to the south :>) J/K!!! Welcome to the *Anticipation Club*!! Only those who have ordered their C-Maxes, and have had to wait thru those agonizing weeks, can appreciate your joy right now. :yahoo:(BTW, RachelInLA is President of this club....she's waited longer than any of us, I think. :salute: But your wait will be rewarded on Wednesday when you drive your new C-Max home!! Enjoy the ride!! ! :shift:

Came with paint chips and proximity sensor of another color
Adair replied to nemonik's topic in General Discussion
nemonik, There is nothing perfectionist about wanting a brand, spanking new car to roll off the truck looking like a brand, spanking new car! Without mix 'n' match pieces and paint chipped. Those are the things the dealer is supposed to find *before* you take the car home, IMHO. The dealership should fix it to 100% perfect and give you a loaner while they are doing it. -
I'm sure that's part of it Shaners, but also, it's a little bit more downhill on the way home. Funny, I never noticed that until I started driving a hybrid. Now I notice every..single..hill on my route :rant2:

Hi HMatthews, My rides home have been better too, anywhere from 44-48 mpg with one high of 52 (don't remember the circumstances of that day). I'm amazed at what a difference a few degrees can make...........and we are only at the beginning of the good stuff. We'll be catching up to those Left Coast kids soon!

New *drive to work* record MPG today. Previous best, on days with temps anywhere from 0-30*, same 18 mile drive each day, cold engine start, defrost, bun warmers, heat, lights, was 33-34 mpg. Today, same trip, 47*, defrost on low because of mist and rain (yes, I said RAIN! :happy feet: ) This morning I got .............drum roll please..................44.8 MPG! :yahoo: I LOVE my C-Max! :wub2:

I didn't know I had automatic wipers!
Adair replied to osiebosie's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
Yup, the first time mine did that I was sure I accidentally bumped the rear wiper switch. But no, they were on only when in reverse, then as soon as I shifted to drive, they went off. What a cool feature!! -
Oh, Snowstorm, many of us here feel your pain! I was one of the lucky ones. I ordered on Oct. 14 and drove my new C-Max home on Nov. 29. I really thought I'd be better with the wait than I was, but the whole *instant gratification* thing took over. When I found the *cmaxchat.com* website, things got easier. Especially when I found the site to download the window sticker, based on the VIN #. I only wish I had known about this site while I was waiting. It would have made it sooooo much more enjoyable!. Welcome, and enjoy all of it, including the wait!

Welcome Hatchman and Mrs. Hatchman, from Michigan, not far down the road from where your C-MAX was built! This is a great place to learn all about it from folks who have driven theirs for a number of months.

WOW Robert!! What a great find! Just a little over a month and you have your new car! You're gonna have so much fun this weekend....and in the coming weeks, learning all about it. And yes, you can reset your lifetime MPG anytime you want. Start it over with your next fillup if you want..........or tomorrow.......... I'm sure whoever drove it up was driving to get there, not for MPG. Didn't know block heaters were standard in WI. We used to live in Duluth, MN, looooonnnnnngggg time ago.....and some people had them, but not standard.

I've said that from the beginning. II tell everyone it's an optical illusion. I thought it looked so small from the outside, on the test drive, but was pleasantly surprised by how roomy it is on the inside.

I'm with you guys! I've had some minor issues with phone/SYNC/earbud not playing nice together, but other than that, nothing. It's been fun to learn, and I find I'm really enjoying the hybrid driving. It is my peace and quiet time on the drive to work and my decompression time on the way home. We have a ways to go before really warm weather is here, but already, with temps in the high 30s, the mpgs are going up steadily. Can't wait for Spring......for a whole host of reason. And I, too, LOVE MY C-MAX!

Car Wash - Underside to remove winter salt
Adair replied to AudenHoggart's topic in Appearance: Detailing, Wash & Wax
With all the road salt used around here in MI, I do the undercarriage wash after each snowfall that required salt on the roads. -
Quick! Someone email Valk!

Cousins, maybe..........Jerry's will probably be red.

The VIN number has been assigned --and-- a delivery date
Adair replied to dalebunker's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
YAY! New arrivals...........new experiences...............new MPG junkies, er, uh, addicts, enthusiasts!!! Yeah, that's the word! :yahoo: -
I get those 2....work and home. Anyone with more than 2 EV+ locations?
-
Yep, that's me alright! And I've got Jerry doing the mpg thing in his 1998 Chevy Venture (til he gets his C-Max) too! So it's contagious across species!
-
I know this is true, because it's up to 35* here this week :yahoo: and I'm getting 40mpg on the way to work (prev. high was 33 in the *colder* temps) and 48 mpg on the way home today. :happy feet: We're gonna have temps in the high 40s-low 50s this weekend and I'll be finding excuses to go drive, just to see what I'll get :shift:

She's off somewhere swimming with dolphins or something else equally wonderful. And probably drinking little umbrella drinks and basking in the sun.
