For me it was the opposite........when we drove a rental car in Minneapolis 2 weeks ago I couldn't figure out 1) why the car door didn't unlock when I touched it, and 2) that I actually had to insert a key into the ignition to start the car. I'm a convert.

Starting Thursday we're gonna have 5 days in a row in the 50s here in MI. Can Spring finally be here?

I've heard that the 2013-born C-MAXs are coming with the upgrade already installed. :) Has anyone who took ownership of their car before 2013 been able to get the upgrade? Have you asked about it? And if so, what was the dealership response? I've called my dealership and they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about. I just got a call back from they, saying that they ran my VIN # and there were *no recalls* on my car. I didn't call about a recall, but about an upgrade chip.

Hi Doug and welcome! Great color! That's what my husband wants! We haven't seen .............any............red one around here. C-Maxes are still a rarity, only 40 miles from where they are built. You'll love the car, and will learn a lot from this forum. Great to have you here!

Ya know, I was never really worried. I was so happy with the mileage I got, compared to the Jeep, that I really would have felt silly complaining. I mean, even at the lowest, I still doubled the Jeep's mpg. And I could tell by reading your posts and the General and Ron and others who live in warmer climates, that it was only a matter of time until I would see higher #s too. And who knows? After I get a 500 mile tank under my belt, I may just be competitive enuf to go for 550..........and then.........the sky's the limit y'all!

Yeah, I did that last Tuesday, driving Asia home from practice. I don't remember the #s but I was really impressed! I drove like a regular car, passed people, accelerated on the on ramps....all the usual stuff and still got really great mileage. Cool, huh? Tomorrow will be another chance.....driving in to A2 for practice. It will be in the high 20's on the way in and maybe 40+ on the way home. Stay tuned.....

My mom is 88. Can't use a computer, but has a WebTV unit that runs thru her TV. She can send/receive email, do online banking, shop on Amazon, Google search stuff....just about anything I can do on the internet, altho at modem speed. But it works for her. Homemade wine and sausage? YUM!

Don't know that I'll ever see 600 miles on a tank. I'm a wimp. I'll be excited for 500, and now that the weather is getting nicer I'll be more likely to run the tank down. A pox on the Prius V!! My Jelly Bean RULES!!!

March 28, 2013, 4 months after taking ownership. All 4 months, winter driving with temps definitely below freezing and many days in the single digits. Today, on my drive home, it was 51*. The sun was shining and I didn't need a coat. In fact, it was SO WARM that I turned on the Recirc for the first time. Same drive home as always. 20 miles of rolling country roads, some stop signs/lights. 45-55 mph. Today's trip was 53.9 MPG!!!! This tank of gas has about 200 miles on it, and the average today is 42.6 mpg. I love my C-MAX!
