To your first point, yes that was changed. Why... I'm not sure. I wish it did, would give me a more realistic number as to what my actual economy is instead of just guessing. I like all of the other changes (coming from a '13 hybrid to a '17 Energi back in 2019) I recently updated my Sync3 to Sync 3.4 , highly recommend if you have changed your other parts over to Sync3!

Who is going to jump to the Escape Hybrid?

Boy that is... ugly... But also looks like a baby Rover? -
Hi everyone! like the title says, I saw this blog post shared in the thread about the new Escape hybrid. Was wondering if anyone ever remapped the car's computer to where it would run the more efficient power band? http://www.winonarenewableenergy.com/uploads/5/3/6/7/5367335/why_c-max_and_fusion_hybrids_are_getting_low_mpgs_2_printed.pdf If so, what was the process like?

The thing about Fuelly is that it will include the diesel and gas models as well as the hybrid/plug-in variants. It doesn't separate them into different categories.

No, I don't think it was a bearing noise or anything. It sounded like the fluid leaked out. Gasket could have gone bad? They said that one of the gears inside of the transmission stripped itself when the oil leaked. Only really noticed the leak because the under-body cover was collecting it.

Sorry forgot to update. Transmission replaced under warranty.

It is able to be changed via ForScan, or you can get it programmed at the dealer.

Mileage and Build date for eCVT that have failed

Add mine to the list. 2017 Energi. 38,300 miles. Being replaced under warranty. -
Ironically, Maxwell 2.0 (My 2017 Energi) I noticed a strange noise when you're using the regen braking. Didn't happen in my old one and thought it wasn't quite right. Checked DTCs and found a C42400. Wasn't sure what it meant and neither did dealers. Took it to the shop and they put it up on the lift to find a leak. 38,300. Going to be investigating further and I'll post an update when I learn more.

Maxwell probably getting retired
kyledamron1 replied to kyledamron1's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Seems ever so slightly faster. But that might just be because I just use the HVB and you don't need the engine so it might "feel" faster? I've only used fuel twice so far. MPG says it's over 400. Makes a huge difference in fuel costs for me. Have used around 60 CENTS of electricity compared to what would be $3.50 in gas. -

Well, it's official! We're trading in Maxwell on Monday. For another C-Max lol. 2017 Energi Titanium with 37k miles. If anyone knows how I can track electric/gasoline usage for fuel economy I'd greatly appreciate it! -
Still haven't received anything from Ford :/ if you end up replacing anything, keep your receipts because you will be reimbursed if there ends up being a recall.

I'm guessing they're copies.

Gotta be careful with those "lifetime" map updates. There was a news story here a few months back. A man bought a GPS with "lifetime" map updates. It's not actually for the life of the product, but what the manufacturer determines is the "life". In the case of the unit, it was 3 years. It's a big scam I think. Also, if anyone is selling/getting rid of their old maps card I'd like to discuss that with you. Thanks!

Maxwell probably getting retired
kyledamron1 replied to kyledamron1's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Well, the car is back home now. It's been repaired. I don't think that I realized the car is supposed to turn completely silently. It has made noise since I bought it. But I brought it home last night and you turn the wheel... nothing. It steers perfectly with no noise at all. Service manager said to talk to the sales manager see if they'll cut a deal for me. Not sure they will. But I think they should give me some of my money back. -

At the mechanic's now. $1680 with tax. Not bad all things considered. Although was discussing new car with family. One more failure like this and we will be getting a new car. It's cleared out our savings account sadly. Said the part should be here by Monday, depending on Ford since it is a dealer-only part. -

Sitting at the dealership and I told them to not touch it. Shopping around for prices. Local mechanic is supposed to call me back with a quote sometime today. Surgery went fine after they finally got the IV in. Lots of yucky stuff afterward. -

Took it back to the dealership. Told to file a product defect complaint with Ford Motor Company directly.
