  1. I've been averaging 53.3-56.1 on my daily trips to the office and back. No A/C lately which have helped. Haven't had any covers on until the other week i put the lower one back on. Need to figured out what i'm doing with the middle one due to the license plate issue. When I've been filling up my range estimate is 713 Miles usually. I also took a trip up to PA, I only averaged 41.5 up there, and 45.6 on the way back. Lots of mountains.
  2. I've found its based on distance. Its fun to turn it on in the drive through. Going into park turns it off immediately however.
  3. I do wish there was a button to turn on the rear camera while driving. Old friend of mine had the reverse switch go back on his old blazer and didn't want to pay the $80 for it to replace, so i got a manual switch hooked up. He would turn it on when people would tailgate him, some people would freak out, others wouldn't notice/care.
  4. Either nothing would happen or it would slow you down. Probably nothing. Typically newer cars have to be going below a certain speed to 'engage' reverse. I'm not convinced shifting to Neutral increase FE, but I've found the throttle position that is basically Neutral, and its useful to allow speed to increase down hill.
  5. One of the annoying things i noticed is when i was on the highway with all 4 windows down, radio off, traveling at about 60MPH. When the ice was off in EV mode, and give it enough throttle quickly to turn on ICE, i would hear this fairly loud base rumble come out of the speakers for about 1 second.
  6. Nice! Side note, i received an email notification on this. First one since i've joined.
  7. Yes it can dealer has to do it with IDS. They wipe all keys and reprogram two keys.
  8. I finally made it back here to post my update! I disconnected my connector earlier this week, took me about 30 seconds. I've been very happy. The annoying sounds i used to get are gone, and now i just hear the normal ICE sound that i missed.
  9. To summarize, Americans are stupid and can't make decisions, so don't give them many.
  10. I would say turning off EV+ may help with your MPG in the afternoon but lower it in the morning. Also an Energi would have been the better choice for your commute but I'm sure someone said that already
  11. That night being on will have a code in the computer to identify the problem. I bet they didn't even look at the car and tried to sell brakes because a service writer is trying to be a mechanic. That's just my guess. I would take it back and work with someone different and have them pull codes. It could be a faulty sensor causing different behavior
  12. Wow that's wild. At least it sounds like they are trying
  13. It's very similar to a differential on a car. I think every transmission should be like our cmax. It's just so cool imo
  14. It's not really. I'm planning to get a small hitch and 300lb trailer to pull 700lbs and not be concerned
  15. I've seen 4kw the other day when it was 101 (just over 3 bar) but usually it's right under 3 bar for a few and goes to 2 bar for a while and steady at 1 or less. The other morning when it was 75 but 100% humidity I ran it and jumped between no bar and .25 bar most of the trip and got my typical MPG of 56 for my morning drive.
  16. I'm currently at 45.6 on my 2016. I never use ECO select as I can't stand the Prius Button. I've had two large trips on the interstate with it (1,700 miles total) where we averaged about 38 on. My daily driving my trips range 47-56MPG
  17. I bet it was a rock in the disk brake shield. It happened to my wife on her escape. Probably fell out on the tow truck ride.
  18. I updated and couldn't get the website to upload the xml file. Something about it was trying to find it at c:/fakepath. I just gave up What I hate about the new version is it sets my phone volume to MAX every time it connects
  19. I'm only remembering when ford changed the design in 2014 they said it was a more efficient gear ratio. Don't know if that was accurate or if it was the cover story for the failure part. As far as reprogramming, all I have is a private message with Ford Tech that's says any time you replace a ford hybrid transmission you have to program it in the computer otherwise it won't work
  20. Keep in mind that if you get a used transmission you will have to reprogram the TCM with either Ford IDS or something capable. The gear ratio is different from what I know.
  21. This is fantastic! I'm pretty sure I will be doing this on my 16 and letting you know if it works.
